Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Abraham Katzir

Dear Madam/Sir Prof. Katzir is the head of the Applied Physics Group at Tel Aviv Univestiy in Israel Members of our group are trying to include Prof. Abraham Katzir in Wikipedia. Prof. Katzir suprevised the work of roughly 80 MSc and PhD students, who publised close to 450 scientific papers. He was a member of the board of international organizations, including SPIE and the International Comission on Optics (ICO). He organized and chaired many international symposia and conferences in the USA and Europe. He is the President of the Israel Lasers and Electro Optics Society. Yet, the reviewer of our contribution mentions that we did not supply RELIABLE sources. What sources would you need? Sincerely Jenia Shulzinger Arshulz (talk) 09:22, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We need reliable secondary sources, sources written by others about Katzir, not written by himself or organizations he's affiliated with. These might be scientific articles discussing Katzir's work, or maybe newspaper coverage. Furthermore, you should use inline citations and footnotes so our readers can verify which source supports which part of the article. Huon (talk) 11:39, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why hasn't my article submitted?

I have press submit on my article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jill Berelowitz, but it has not been submitted fore view. Do you know why this is?

Your reference tags were mismatched. You need an "opening" and a "closing" tag to enclose a reference, like this: <ref>Text in footnote</ref> Because you didn't have closing tags, parts of your article, including the submission template, were misinterpreted as part of a footnote, and thus disregarded. I fixed that and submitted the article.

Also, your footnotes should be part of the article itself, with each footnote next to the part of the article it's supporting. If you just bundle them all at the end, our readers will find it difficult to verify which footnote supports which statement. Huon (talk) 18:37, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
