Welcome to the Wikiproject Arena Football League Newsletter Department! The AFL newsletter consists basically of announcements relating to the project, including news regarding arena football-related articles, events that are happening in the arena football-world, and COTM announcements. The newsletter is published month on the first day of the month.
If you are listed as a member of WP:Arena Football League, then you are automatically subscribed to the newsletter. The newsletter will be sent to your talk page. If you want to receive the newsletter and you're not a member, then simply add your name to the members list.
Articles for the more popular and "star" players of the league need to be expanded, have citations added to them and hopefully we can get some GA's out of them.
All articles on active players and coaches need to be updated with stats, news, and all things important. (Note: For stats it's best to use ArenaFan.)
Please help in re-assessing articles, as well as expanding them. We need to get to work on it and get as much done as possible.
On July 8, it was reported that the Albany Firebirds' future appears to be uncertain, due to less than stellar attendance.
af2 Hall of Fame
On July 17, it was announced that the af2 would induct the inaugural class of the af2 Hall of Fame. The class will consist of 10 inductees, from five categories: Players, Coaches, Administrators (owners and front office), Officials and At-large/Contributors to the game. The criteria for player and coach nomination are that they must have played or coached for at least one season. The inaugural class will be announced during the lead-in week of ArenaCup10.
Our goal is to get the number of Stub-Class articles down to 0, in due time. The current article count is listed below, I have placed the formula that is on the project page that is updated everytime the bot is run and it tallies up our articles and where they are and lists them as seen below, so that no one has to worry about making sure it's updated manually before the newsletter is sent out. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help expand and/or source an article or two. A list is provided in the stub-class category of stub articles that need to be improved, and some should be fairly easy.
The full newsletter is posted directly on your talk page. This is the default delivery method.
If you would rather not have the full newsletter posted on your talk page, but rather receive a notification of a new issue, then add your name to this list.
If you no longer wish to receive any notification of the newsletter whatsoever, then add an asterisk (i.e. *) in front of your username on the main members list.
