Portal

Goals

[edit]
  • The goal of this WikiProject is to provide complete coverage on subjects related to New Mexico, by expanding articles on people, places, and things resident or native to New Mexico.

Scope

[edit]
  • This project proposes to work with all pages related to the state of New Mexico, its history, geography, and people.

Guidelines

[edit]
  • All settlements should have {{Infobox settlement}}
  • All bios should have an appropriate biographical infobox
  • Other articles for which infoboxes exist should have them (sports teams, legislature, etc.)
  • All articles should be properly categorized, and have a {{WikiProject New Mexico}} on their talk page
  • Stubs should be properly sorted
  • Spanish names and terms should be given with the proper diacritics where applicable.

New articles

[edit]

Please feel free to include in this WikiProject any New Mexico-related articles that you create or find. To include an article in this project, put {{WikiProject New Mexico|class=|importance=}} at the top of the article's talk page. The article will appear in the next update of our quality log. New articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page. Please also put new articles into a New Mexico category. If you cannot decide which one, use our main category: put [[Category:New Mexico]] at the bottom of the article, just above any links to other language Wikipedia.

Articles needed

[edit]

The following articles, about notable subjects, have been requested to be created.

  • The history of the people of Mora, NM.

Departments

[edit]

Rates articles for both quality and importance to this project. Assessment is not peer review (see below), but a quick rating of the article and (where warranted) brief comments on how to improve the article. -->

Peer review of articles for areas for improvement, performed by this project rather than Wikipedia-wide; good for both a first take on Start-class articles, and for focused improvement efforts before Good Article and Featured Article review. In contrast to Wikipedia-wide peer review, which focuses on Wikipedia standards, in-project peer review typically focuses on the quality of the article from a topical standpoint; both are equally valuable but very different review processes. In contrast to assessment, peer review is a detailed review.

Templates

[edit]

Stubs

[edit]

{{NewMexico-stub}} for the bottom of very short articles:

There are also {{NewMexico-geo-stub}} for locations and {{NewMexico-politician-stub}} for (obviously) politicians.

NOTE: Stubs are managed by the Stub-sorting WikiProject. Before creating a new stub, you should propose it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. See Wikipedia:Stub for general guidelines on proposing stub templates and categories. DO NOT simply create new stub templates, as these will be deleted.

[edit]

{{New Mexico}}—use sparingly as it is large. Basically, if the article doesn't appear in the navbox, the navbox should probably not appear on the article.

{{Albuquerque}}—for Albuquerque-related topics.

{{Santa Fe County, New Mexico}}—for topics relating to the city of Santa Fe and the county it resides in, including other towns and cities therein.
