Progress Report on 5S rRNA article editing

We have made progress in adding several important new sections to the article to help organize it. The next step is to improve the wording of the paragraphs to make the flow better. We also want to add an image from one of the reference articles that has a really nice image of the secondary structure with labels for each helix, loop, etc. We are taking into account suggestions made by our reviewers Alpha centauri b (talk) 01:38, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Androidhu and I are preparing to make a few changes and improvments to our article. I will be expanding the structure section and plan to make and additional section titled "location in the ribosome". Android is improving on the function section. Based on some of our feedback we will be making the introduction section more readable and clear. It is not easy to follow at this point.

I don't like the protein interaction section of the 5S rRNA article at all and plan to do a complete redo of this section. We have added more Wikilinks. I plan to add more citation. Unfortunately, I can not find any "free to use" images to add to the article to help identify the secondary structure more clearly.

Final Progress Report

We improved our article by following many suggestions raised by our peer reviewers. Particularly, Rmiller587 and SabFernMB gave some great feedbacks/criticism which were helpful in improving our article.

Under the Function section, I re-paraphrased some of the texts that are closely paraphrased from the source, and re-worded some of the awkward and unclear sentences. Also, I elaborated upon one of the function of 5S rRNA to act as mediator between functional centers of the ribosome.
I added more wikilinks to technical jargons throughout the article (e.g. sedimentation, immunostaining, exonuclease, peptidyl transferase, X-ray crystallography, etc.)
I added "See Also" section by providing related wiki pages
Under Protein Interaction section, I added more contents in the last paragraph ("Other ribosomal proteins").
