File:Rajagopal speaking to 25,000 people, Janadesh 2007, India.jpg This is a serious nomination. I haven't done this before, and am having a hard time making out the instructions. I will write something up in the coming week, or sooner, if needed. (This is in the nature of holding this date's seat by leaving the article's sweater on it.) (Full article...)
- Most recent similar article(s): Sorry, but I am clueless here, but the article did appear on TFA in December 2004.
- Main editors: @Nichalp:, former arb and admin, now retired, led the FA run in 2004. He is the patron saint. Don't know if he'll respond. Others who have made significant edits are @Saravask:, @RegentsPark:, @Abecedare:, @SpacemanSpiff:, and @Dbachmann:, I think. Others who have been commenting on the talk page in the run up to this nomination are: @Johnbod:, @Vanamonde93:, @Kautilya3:, @MilborneOne:
- Promoted: It was promoted on September 16, 2004. I believe it is the oldest country FA on Wikipedia. It went through a rigorous FAR successfully in 2011. It is much edited, being the most viewed country page after the US, on most days. So all sorts of editors keep it up to date.
- Reasons for nomination: October 2, 2019, is Gandhi's 150th birthday (sesquicentennial). As the leading genius of the successful campaign for India's independence, what would be a more appropriate honor for Gandhi on Wikipedia than the appearance on the front page of his most sought after prize?
