- Template:User grieving (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
- Template:User Grieving short (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Propose merging Template:User grieving with Template:User Grieving short.
No need for two templates (the short form, currently unused, is a recent fork); make the message switchable by using |short=y
, or similar, if needed. Or simply delete the short version? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:30, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- Delete and add parameter per nom. —Matrix(!) (a good person!)[Citation not needed at all; thank you very much] 15:10, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
- Keep in whatever fashion works best. I've seen this userbox in use before but it's not going to be a permanent addition to anyone's User page. The only way I think these two should be deleted is if they are redundant to other, similar template messages. But if that's not true, then I argue that we keep these and allow editors to signal when they are under duress. I don't think they are likely to be misused. Liz Read! - Merge, having more customisable templates like this instead of forking them is generally better in my opinion because it's all in one template. But I don't see any issue if this doesn't get merged. Theooolone (talk) 02:59, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was no consensus. Closing instead of relisting on the basis that this has been going for almost a month, even if it's only been relisted once. (non-admin closure) Queen of Hearts she/theytalk/stalk 06:34, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

- Template:Uw3 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Propose merging Template:Uw4im, Template:Uw4, Template:Uw3 and Template:Uw2 with Template:Uw.
Consolidation, standardization of messaging for a given policy/guideline violation. We can have the template output be different depending on the level of the warning (block, 4im, 4, 3, 2, 1).
As an example, we could have the uw-disrupt series have code that looks like this with a merge:
{{Uw
|level={}
|softreason=be unconstructive
|reason=disrupt Wikipedia
|details=
* If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the }}}|{{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>TALKPAGENAME:{}}}|Help:Talk pages}}|article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
* If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
}}
The output can then be standardized based on the level. Awesome Aasim 21:51, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, ✗plicit 23:45, 27 February 2024 (UTC)- Oppose. The current templates function well and are easy to use. This looks like consolidation for its own sake, and is a poor choice of that. oknazevad (talk) 00:07, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- Interesting point of consideration for now: Most of our templates don't even use this stuff. I disagree this is consolidation for consolidation sake, especially because adaptability and mistakes is improved when templates need to be updated in fewer places. Awesome Aasim 00:59, 9 March 2024 (UTC)

- Template:Icon (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Propose merging Template:Mop with Template:Icon.
This template is a 16x16px admin mop icon, primarily used on Wikipedia:Missing Wikipedians. I propose merging it into Module:Icon/data (with the code admin
& the alias mop
- or the other way around), both for consistency - to have Wikipedia-related icons accessible from one template - and because it meets the scope at as an inline image that is used in metapages
. After merging, I propose turning mop into a wrapper template for {{icon
Let me know if there are any queries. All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 22:20, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Merge. All seem like worthwhile proposals to me. As the original creator of mop icon, no objections here, as long as it still functions as intended at WP:MWP with no accessibility issues for people with screen readers, then go for it. -- œ™ — Preceding undated comment added 01:48, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

This template misrepresents the reality of the situation. Per the Atlanta Falcons, "The Atlanta Falcons organization doesn't officially retire jersey numbers, but considers certain player's jerseys worthy of being honored. The Falcons Ring of Honor honors individual players and not jerseys.
