This kind of automated portal was rejected at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/City portals cloned from outline pages * Pppery * it has begun... 22:04, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Tag as {{historical}}. Provides some background regarding MfD matters. Also, there was some talk somewhere months ago (don't remember exactly where offhand) about using these templates to possibly create navigation boxes, so it may come in handy for this. North America1000 10:05, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- This template is linked only from lists of unused templates and links related to the ongoing TfD. I don't see how tagging it as {{historical}} will provide background in any way. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:17, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

Per WP:TFD#REASONS#3. I see no benefit in keeping this template for historical reasons, it still was linked in {{Portal templates navbox}} confusing the editors. Guilherme Burn (talk) 17:50, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Comment Wanna hear from AfroThundr3007730 who tagged it as historical. If there isn't any good reason to keep it I'm inclined to support just to avoid confusion in the future. --Trialpears (talk) 17:57, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Trialpears: I tagged it as historical because it used to be a widely used portal creation template, which many of the older portals are still watermarked with. Keeping it as historical seems like a good solution for this one. — AfroThundr (u · t · c) 05:51, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Comment Per WP:TFD#REASONS#3, it may be better to keep this template as it is in use in substituted form on 280 live pages. Certes (talk) 20:17, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Tag as {{historical}}. Provides some background regarding portals. Also, the nominator here already removed the link from the Template:Portal templates navbox page (diff), so outright deletion doesn't particularly seem necessary now anyway. Also, some editors may want to learn about the template after seeing the hidden comment in portals stating, "<!-- This portal was created using subst:box portal skeleton -->". North America1000 10:12, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Keep - Still a template in use, per the reason cited by Certes above. --Cactus.man ✍ 16:17, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
- Keep If one of these has to be deleted, it should be Template:Basic portal start page (because it produces navbox-clone portals that have been rejected by consensus), not this template. * Pppery * it has begun... 20:12, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

- Comment I don't understand why the Template:2019–20 Zambia Super League table has been tagged to be deleted please enlighten me am lost. --Chabota Kanguya (talk) 20:32, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- because it is unused after being merged with the parent article (with attribution) per consensus at WT:FOOTY. Frietjes (talk) 20:11, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- English please make it simple cause one this that is an on going season in Zambia. Second pages like the Template:2005–06 FA Premier League table isn't merged with its main article 2005–06 FA Premier League why what is so special about them that the template gets to stay.--Chabota Kanguya (talk) 20:32, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- primarily because it takes time to merge all of them, but the plan is to merge all of them. we are generally starting with the ones that are only used on a few pages before moving on to the ones that are used on 23 pages. Frietjes (talk) 20:37, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- Uhmmm okay if that is the case then why don't you let this on be Template:2019–20 Zambia Super League table let it be kept. Then in August 2020 i will do the need full. Thank you, nothing feather --Chabota Kanguya (talk) 20:41, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- why? it's easier to edit/watch one page rather than a page and a template. Frietjes (talk) 20:53, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

- @Chabota Kanguya: We are not deleting the tables, just the templates which hold the table. You may still update the table in exactly the same way, you will just do it directly on the 2019–20 Zambian Super League article. SportingFlyer T·C 00:07, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

- Template:Scotland Squad 2015 Six Nations (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
- Template:Scotland Squad 2016 Six Nations (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
While it is a great honour for a rugby player to be selected for his country's Six Nations squad, it is a tournament that happens every year, and for a player with a long career, this would open the door to a massive amount of navbox clutter. Even if we limited it to the winning nation each year, that would still exclude these templates, as Scotland have not won this tournament since 1999, before it was expanded to the now familiar Six Nations format. – PeeJay 10:30, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- delete, 2015 Six Nations Championship squads and 2016 Six Nations Championship squads are sufficient. Frietjes (talk) 18:40, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- delete, it's not a tournament that requires an unchangeable and locked squad list like i.e. the World Cup. No need to have a template for the Six Nations squad. -- SERGIO aka the Black Cat 12:28, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Navbox with nothing to navigate to. There's only one redlinked title in the content section, so the only link in the entire box is the header itself -- and the box's only transclusion is in the same "header" article, so it results in that article navboxing to itself and nothing else.
