- Keep Eventually, we will need a featured sound process again - we're probably losing out on a LOT of audio files by not having one. There's no point to dismantling the code related to it in the meantime. Adam Cuerden (talk) 23:15, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Adam Cuerden, considering it's been five years, why not move it to a subpage of Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates until there is a need for it again. Frietjes (talk) 14:22, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- Because this link, so far as I'm aware, is the one linked on the archived pages. There's no point keeping things where they can't be found. Adam Cuerden (talk) 22:08, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

- Soft delete, allowing undeletion at WP:REFUND if a featured sound process is ever revived. Does this adequately address your concerns Adam Cuerden while keeping this off of the database reports for unused templates and not requiring bot edits, etc., to maintain the code for an unused template? Note that lacking any transclusions is usually a valid rationale for deletion, as per WP:TFD#REASONS. ~ Rob13Talk 10:26, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- The only reason it's not linked is because of archiving templates on the project. I can't see how deleting it, or reditecting it would actually do the slightest bit of good to the project. It will screw up viewing any and all previous revisions that use it, which is an active harm, so there's that. Adam Cuerden (talk) 15:50, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

- This is a reference (a specific book). It is designed to be cited in multiple articles. User:Three-quarter-ten/Citation analysis shows what I mean. Category:Specific-source templates would apply. This is troubling because I remember this as having been cited in multiple articles on machining and machine tools, yet now "What links here" shows all those citations not existing anymore. This is dispiriting because this probably represents degradation in article quality over recent years (misguided deletions, vandalism)? I do not watchlist enough nowadays to keep this from happening. Please do not delete before I can attempt to see what the heck people did to those citations. — ¾-10 00:25, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
- Solved: Someone evidently went around subst-ing them all, for who knows what reason that they didn't explain anywhere I can find (for example, not at the template's talk page). I am reverting that because no justification was given for it, and I have provided my justification for using the template. Please do whatever it takes to get this item off the TfD list, because the unused category no longer applies. Am I allowed to remove it myself? — ¾-10 00:38, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
- To avoid repeating myself (I have a note on my talk page) I'll just ping Three-quarter-ten here. I honestly have no idea why I came across this particular template, but from the surrounding edits I think I remember why it was done. WP:AST was having some issues with an editor creating templates much like yours, and they (along with a fair number of their templates) were slated to be deleted. In all likelihood I found this ref template in one of the templates I was cleaning/prepping for deletion, and I added it to my list of decentralized ref templates to substitute (but I can't 100% say for sure). Since this particular template was never brought before TFD, I have no issues with you reinstating their use (i.e. reverting my edits).
- As for the TFD - unless Frietjes wishes to change their nomination reason and/or withdraw, the TFD will most likely stay open. On that subject, I am neutral on the nomination (I have seen ref templates deleted and ref templates kept), so I'll just be watching. Primefac (talk) 02:18, 11 November 2016 (UTC)

- Comment Sorry, I created this in the hope that it would be used as on German Wikipedia - see here which shows the different phases of the Weichselian glaciation. I think I had problems with the syntax which is why it's not being used. I don't know if it's worth seeing if the earth history team are interested in sorting it out. It's not really my area of expertise. --Bermicourt (talk) 17:18, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

- Template:Thai name (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Recreated template previously deleted at TfD. Thai names follow the Western order, and as such aren't confusing and do not need clarification at the top of the page, which is distracting and an inappropriate use of hatnotes. The template also aimed to instruct editors on referring to the subjects by given name (as documented at MOS:GIVENNAME), which is also an inappropriate use. Such messages aimed at editors should be placed in HTML comments. Paul_012 (talk) 10:25, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- I think it's still useful information so readers will know that Thais are always addressed by given name and not the last name. While it's true that Thai names follow the Western order, without clarification, readers may be confused as to which is the given name and which is the family name, since modes of address are different from Western conventions, which always use family names. The dog2 (talk) 15:45, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- And just to add on, you see modes of address being mentioned in the templates for Vietnamese name and Icelandic name, so why not for Thai name? The dog2 (talk) 19:01, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- For such non-essential information I think the information should at most be presented as a footnote. The major news providers don't write out an explanation every time they report on a Thai person. I'm not familiar enough with the names of those cultures to make comparisons, but whether other stuff exists isn't generally a good argument either for keeping or deleting pages. --Paul_012 (talk) 21:00, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

- Template:Paker clan name (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
This template is an unreferenced assertion about a naming convention for some cultural group. Used once. There is no article linked to that explains this. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:26, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
