Operation Locker is a collaborative project to produce comprehensive coverage of all ships lost during the years 1914-1918 and 1939-45.

Notes
[edit]As this is a list of shipwrecks, generally vessels under 100 tons should not listed. Exceptions are commissioned naval vessels, and vessels sunk by enemy action. The latter should not be wikilinked unless there is an article on the vessel in question. Many ships will need to be dabbed. Plimsoll ship data and Miramar Ship Index (subscription required) will prove useful in achieving this. Both sites will also say whether or not a merchant vessel was a steamship or motor vessel as appropriate.
