Paperstone (Company)

reasoning -Edbeerbohm (talk) 12:55, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

The article was initially flagged for speedy deletion as promotional spam. I contested the deleteion by posting on the relevant talk page. However, this was ignored and not responded to. The article was deleted under CDS A7: "No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content," again with no contact or further explanation from an administrator.

To reiterate: the article was in no way partisan, it had third-party references and the organisation to which it referred is better known than many about whom there are badly referenced already existing as wikipedia pages.

Not done It was deleted as non-notable, which, after a quick read makes perfect sense, and when you contest the deletion, you need to FIX it, or it can readily be ignored. Wikipedia is not a directory of businesses. Please don't use the WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS argument. If you wish to discuss (with far better arguments) the deletion with the deleting admin, feel free to contact User:RHaworth (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:08, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

TradeHill Bitcoin Exchange

This article was marked for speedy deletion because a user thought it was to self promotional. This was my first attempt at a wiki entry and I had meant to mark it as a stub to encourage collaboration on the topic. If you can please userfy the article, I would like to improve it and seek others input as to why it was deleted in the first place. This is a topic with limited coverage on wikipedia and one that I personally think would add alot to the general understanding of the topic. -ThereNHere (talk) 18:57, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. This is a brand-new company, and besides the blatantly promotional tone, there were no reliable sources and no hint that such things exist. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:06, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

reasoning -Giverandnotataker (talk) 21:05, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

While this page was initially deleted due tolack of information and authenticity we created it with all the necessary links, sources and made it more comphrensive reporting the significant work and profile of the named person/celebrity. An thus will request a restoration of this artical

The initial submission was not comprehensive enough so we went back and added every link, resources, information, picture and made it authentic as possible.

We believe the 2nd deletion was in error and ask for restoration

Not done. This article was deleted after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/DJ Abrantee so, as stated at the top of this page, it will not be undeleted here. If you have more information which would overcome the reasons stated for deletion, you should approach user Postdlf (talk), the administrator who closed the discussion. Then, if you are not satisfied, you can go to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 21:50, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Media Diversity Institute

This article was a candidate for speedy deletion and has been deleted less than 24 hours after it was put up without giving anyone the opportunity to object. Moreover, as a new contributor, I find the procedure for requesting reconsideration unbelievably byzantine and virtually impossible to navigate - particular when speedy deletion is concerned.

To the point.

I'd appreciate some guidance as to why you consider the article to be 'unambiguous advertising'. It is an accurate description of the organisation and its work, complete with references where these exist. Moreover, the MDI or MDI projects are referenced in other Wikipedia articles - for example a link in the the article on the International Federation of Journalists references the Institute for Media Diversity (actually the same organisation) and links to a joint IFJ-MDI project, Media 4 Diversity, http://www.media4diversity.eu/.

If you can indicate sections of the article that you conclude are unambiguous advertising, I will be happy to consider rewriting or removing them. But I have been very careful not to include any normative statements in the article. It describes the background to the MDI, its history, its aims and what it does.

I can find no sources for criticism of the organisation but would be happy to include any that you can direct me to.

Finally, it seems to me that there might well have been other more appropriate solutions to the problem (if there is a problem) - for example, reducing the length of the article. There are plenty of similar articles on Wikipedia as far as I can see. I'd appreciate a bit more consideration and some explanation. -Gherman317 (talk) 16:43, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Chris Webby

The article should be undeleted as it will be about a new music artist (rapper) which has been attempted to be created too early in the past; for example in earlier months the artist was not as 'popular' nor did he have much of a career, this caused the pages to be deleted for the artist having 'lack of importance or significance'. The article was then prevented of creation as it was being recreated too many times. However in the present time the artist Chris Webby is starting to make a name for himself and deserves a Wikipedia article. I have the sufficient information and sources required to complete an informative article about this artist. -XHypes (talk) 17:55, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Tony Berg

reasoning -Three down (talk) 18:32, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

It is unclear why the page/article relating to Tony Berg was deleted. It was posted for years-with entirely accurate information--before being suddenly, and, seemingly, arbitrarily--removed.

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Berg, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Cirt (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Skier Dude (talk) 02:13, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Andrea Rossi (entrepreneur)

whether the e-cat is a scam or real, Andrea Rossi has certainly generated a tremendous amount of interest with his Nickel-Hydrogen claimed power source, and if he is correct, it will change the world. Because his own personality and background is very relevant to the discussion of whether or not his e-cat is real, I think that Wikipedia should certainly maintain a page on him as a person. Just Google his name regarding the number of times he shows up in both news stories and regular search as evidence of current interest in this person. -194.213.48.99 (talk) 19:24, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, glad I've finally found this place. Deleted 5 years ago, stating "Non-notable band". This is untrue, for the following facts: this dark / goth (?) rock band hails from Detroit, MI, was founded in 1982 and has released roughly 15 albums. See Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Shock+Therapy I think they had no album in the charts (but I may be wrong); however, there's another criteria they DO meet: they had several releases in the 1990s on the well-known Fundamental label (Rollins Band, Savage Republic et al). Parsecs away from "non-notable". I guess there are 1,000 bands that may be dubbed "non-notable" before ST! Even more findings: If you check Bob Stubbs and read this excerpt: "...also cited as a major influence for Kurt Cobain in Kurt's early Seattle music scene days. In 1994 Stubbs joined The Glass Heroes on drums again with Keith Jackson of the band Shock Therapy on guitar and vocals." you will get surprised how far they were involved in the "notable" rock scene. Shock Therapy were also quite popular in Germany, releasing under the not-so-notable Dossier label. That's why they got a quite decent article in German Wikipedia, too: de:Shock Therapy. I'm fluent in English and German and I would take the task of translating the relevant parts from the German version into English. Thank you. -andy 217.50.42.186 (talk) 01:04, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I suggest that you create an account. Then we can put a copy in your userspace to develop further. It may in fact be preferable to start anew translating from the German, with appropriate sources; again, to start a new article, you need to create an account. LadyofShalott 16:00, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Sociedad Coral de Bilbao/ Bilbao Choral Society

The article was marked as elligible for speedy deletion probably because it reproduced content from the Spanish equivalent article which I was translating and adapting. That non-English text was promptly erased. I contested the marking but followed the instructions and continued adding content, links and references. I hoped somebody would have checked how much the article had changed before erasing it. I have looked into the lists of the many articles which seem to have been speedy deleted. However, I have been unable to find this article which was written only last night, so I cannot, either, provide the name of the administrator who deleted it. I hoped to have finished the translation tonight. World Gifted & Talented Awareness Day

continuing effort to meet the criteria and significance in the field -Marynz (talk) 01:40, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

The article was deleted because it was deemed to be an advertisement. I think it was only deemed to be an advertisement because it was posted before the event has taken place. I would really like it reviewed by someone who understands that this will still be important in the field after it has taken place. There have been so many significant events in gifted education that are not recorded anywhere public, so people are now researching them. I was striving to get some of this stuff online while its history was still findable.

By way of an example, New Zealand's leading figure in Gifted Education, George Parkyn, was apparently a keynote speaker at the inaugural conference of WCGTC who are holding this awareness day soon. I am a Master's Student in gifted education in New Zealand, andI have found that there is no record anywhere of what he said. I have approached a huge number of people, and all they recall is "he spoke well". Discovering this is what has prompted me to begin recording about this inaugural awareness day. Records don't seem to be kept.

I have been working very hard on making this page encyclopaedic in nature and to be less like an advertisement. It is not intended to be an advertisement at all. It is very important as the first ever international awareness day in the field of gifted education. If it is really still unsuitable, can you please restore it into my user space until after the event when it can't possibly advertise and its historical importance will be more obvious. I have done a lot of research on the discussions that led up to the event being announced and spent an entire day on it, and now all that work is lost to me, when my intention had been to make it available to many people in my field who are interested. Marynz (talk) 01:40, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

P.S. If it is not possible to restore it, even as a user page, can you please e-mail me a copy somehow? Marynz (talk) 03:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

P. P. S. We are a little worried that people overseas can now see early versions whereas they could see the final version last night. Am hoping you can restore the most recent version with lots of references. Marynz (talk) 04:17, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Question: although this is an expired WP:PROD and is eligible for undeletion, I'm a bit concerned. Any biography of a living person must have sufficient references at the time of creation. As for the claim that it was written from scratch, the text was clearly very close to the original source, which is not permitted - especially considering that it was taken from the subject's own website that does not qualify as a reliable source. The only portions of the article that could be restored would be with the copyright-infringing material removed, which is not a significant piece. Are you sure it's not just easier to create a new WP:USERSPACEDRAFT? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:19, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Thomas James Ball

This man's suicide on principle is important to many who are concerned about the issue of Family Court reform. The man burned himself to death to protest the workings of the Family Court system in New Hampshire. He wrote a 10,000 word statement about his purposes which was reprinted by several publications, including, I think, the Keene Sentinel Enterprise. The Sentinel Enterprise reported that more than 5,000 users had linked to the page which published Thomas James Ball's statement, or "liked" it on Facebook, in a short period of time, less than two weeks. That newspaper said that its previous high school for articles being "liked" was 400. The very-high circulation Instapundit has linked to this story four times. The Boston Globe has written an article about the man--reporter Mark Arsenault--though it has not yet run. This is a significant man, a significant event, and the page deserves to be restored. -71.233.170.233 (talk) 13:12, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done. This page was deleted as a result of the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thomas James Ball so, as stated at the top of this page, it will not be undeleted here. If you think the discussion was wrongly decided, or you have new information, you should approach user Master of Puppets (talk), the administrator who closed it; then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 13:41, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure if this ia the right place to pose this question, but am I missing something to think this page was deleted after five and a half days instead of seven on the grounds of a large concesus, but with only 15 to 13 in favour of deletion? Chances are that I'm merely not familiar enough with the deletion process, but I'm not aware of any better place to raise this query. -Joey- (talk) 04:25, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Sean Berdy

Sean Berdy is an American actor currently starring in the ABC Family drama Switched at Birth. As a current star of a popular television show and an actor in a few movies in the past, he is worthy of his own article. I do not know why the article was originally deleted, but it seems to have been started by a user named Seanberdy, so perhaps there was a conflict of interest. -Shaverc (talk) 03:20, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

The consensus wasn't in error but we need to consider that the AFD was closed in November of last year and Switched at Birth (TV series) debuted this month. I don't know how significant his new role is but we should consider that he may now meet WP:NACTOR. Technically this is still a case for deletion review but I wouldn't be opposed to allowing the article to be recreated with sources. The article deleted at AFD was an unsourced BLP. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 04:11, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I would not object to a recreation that addressed the issues in the AFD. I think there is no problem with PhilKnight's closure either. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:23, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps the subject was not notable enough to have its own independent article, but I think it should be merged with the Lifted Music wikipedia page. I am asking for the Breed 12 Inches page to be put back in my userspace so I can work on merging it with the Lifted Music page, and I am also currently making a reference list -Komting (talk) 11:21, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

New Equations

was not advertorial, removed without just cause -Wordmice (talk) 23:38, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

I have no idea why this article would be removed. It was flagged for being advertorial which is absolutely incorrect. New Equations is a spiritual practice that implements body work and spiritual development. No one is selling anyone anything. Furthermore they also support the New Equations Foundation which is a 501c3 non profit. The teachings implement the studies of several notable individuals who are also currently listed with wiki pages and were linked to. Additionally New Equations practices were cited with outside articles. I would like to request that this page be restored. I have done my very best to follow the wiki guidelines but the truth is the guidelines are VERY confusing and not very user friendly. It's quite unfair that your page can be removed by some random person who fancies himself the wiki-police and removes a page without offering any kid of constructive criticism first to resolve any misunderstanding.

This page was not advertising anything and was not selling anything. It simply was created to help outline the basic principals of a field of spiritual study and practice for information purposes.

Sincerely,

Celeste

The page has been removed for not being notable. There are lots of notable news articles about Carpe Diem across various UK media news websites, these have just not been added to the page. If the page is undeleted I will add these links. -80.74.252.9 (talk) 08:35, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Let us hope that "media news websites" is not a euphemism for "industry blogs and gossip sites." No offense, but I've observed that advertising firms in general display a pattern of thinking themselves and their details notable when nobody but their competition has ever heard of them or talked about them. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:18, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

BDB Book Club

BDB Book Club page abides by all the rules of Wikipedia and so must not be deleted. It is a very famous Book Club with about 500 members. The club's credibility can be checked by the authors visit to the club like Mr Subroto Bagchi, Dr Shashi Tharoor, Mr R Gopalakrishnan etc. They are very famous authors based in India and their pages exist on Wikipedia as well.

Please look into the matter and take necessary steps. -Khushboobhatia (talk) 09:56, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

  •  Not done Although it was not yet deleted when you placed this request, it will be soon. This is an encyclopedia, and WP:NOTWEBHOST. One of the reasons not to delete states "I feel it is of utmost importance to have the page uploaded on Wikipedia as it will be an easier way to track the meetings", which is exactly NOT the purpose of an encylopedia. The group fails general notability. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:11, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Chris Renegade

I have gained more content/references for this article that will verify its notability. Chris Renegade has been a big name in the UK Drum & Bass scene for many years, and I think he deserves to have his own page. Please can you put this article back in my userspace so I can continue editing it until it is ready to go back up with more references and information. -Komting (talk) 11:32, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm not seeing this one. The individual would be better served as being noted in your soon-to-be fixed/merged article that you're working on - he does not appear to have suitable notability on his own (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:38, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Lintilla (chat site)

Please userify. Page shouldn't have been PRODded, as there was a previous AfD which resulted in "no consensus". However, given the reasons cited in the PROD's delete log, it may need some cleanup before it's really encylopedic. Please userify the page, so I can review the page and its history, and put some time into looking for verifiable references, extract whatever useful information should be merged into the current Talker article, or otherwise clean up the useful parts for inclusion. -Piquan (talk) 11:46, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Done to User:Piquan/Lintilla (talker). Note that usaer HairyWombat (talk) moved it to this title with edit summary "This redirects to Talker, so the new name is a better description. Jon_Hyde

Sorry, not wiki savvy enough to know which administrator deleted this page, but I was reading the band Detective's page and clicked the link for drummer Jon Hyde to find it deleted...see reference below...apparently Jon's page was made prior to Detective's page and so he was deemed not notable. Perhaps this could be revisited? I am a fan of his and happen to know he is active in two bands currently. I am not his employee or representative in anyway, and if in fact he asked for his page to be deleted, so be it. But it appears otherwise:

This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference.

Employment Law Alliance

Reasoning is based on several issues: 1) Page in question was recently brought into compliance with respect to the addition of numerous third-party references both a) confirming the identity of the organization; and b) highlighting polls done by the organization which, in and of themselves, meet the definition of notable. 2) If you review the page's content you will see that no content is intended to be promotional or construed as an advertisement. This organization is identical in nature to that of an alliance of airlines such as the Star alliance. Timestaking efforts to ensure that the page was in compliance were made. Zero constructive criticism was levied. Rather, a blunt deletion occurred which is counter to the nature of this enterprise. A claim that somehow this is similar to a situation where "a sells concrete and b pours it" is neither accurate nor logical. By this logic, when Delta sells a plane ticket and a person flies on a partner airline then a similar situation occurs. And yet, Delta's airline alliance page is not called in to question. Please reconsider this deletion as it severely shakes my confidence in this platform and in the open, free democratic information exchange that this site aims to foster.-Mabond17 (talk) 15:39, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Not done. This was not deleted for copyright reasons but because it is a blatant advertisement, clearly written by the company: "Our consultants... We can help to add value... " and written in undiluted marketing-speak full of "peacock terms" designed to promote: "leading provider... impressive growth... strength and expertise of the Group... wealth of knowledge... unrivalled levels of repeat business... strong consultancy skill... responsive and flexible solution... unrivalled capability... " That is an advertisement, and anything like that is deleted from Wikipedia at sight. It is nothing like an encyclopedia article, which requires a WP:Neutral point of view and should consist of plain facts verifiable from reliable sources. Wikipedia is specifically not for advertising or promotion of any kind: as the Marketing Manager of SDI Group Ltd you have a WP:Conflict of interest which means you are the last person who should be writing about it here.
