Happilionaire

A Happilionaire is a specific type of person that found a harmonious balance between material and spiritual life. That type of person reached a certain level of wealth, knowledge and understanding regarding spiritual happiness and the material world.

The Happilionaire Psychology is different from the other schools of thought in a single specific way. It accepts all schools of thought, all religions, all social and political systems and all human ways of living as valid, as long as a single person can live happily in those ways. The Happilionaire Psychology considers that all contradictions between religions, spiritual, social and material matters are not contradictory but, in fact, complementary.

The term Happilionaire was created in 2010, by Filip Stanciu, joining the words "Happy" and "Billionaire" and it express a state of spiritual and material wealth. -89.32.198.72 (talk) 13:46, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done - for the reasons why, see Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. That is mainly written for people who have made up a spoof religion or a drinking game, but the reasons it gives apply just as much to a serious, but newly-invented and not yet established, word like this. Andrea Sunder-Plassmann

Hello, I am the assistant of the artist Andrea Sunder-Plassmann. We want to know how we can undelete the page that I created. I have all her permission to write about her and to take information from her website. How can we prove this? -Florhysteria (talk) 16:51, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

  • Not done. A few things should be noted here. First, The text and images on wikipedia can not be copied from any copyrighted source even if that source provides permission for that content to be on wikipedia. Because everything added to wikipedia is essentially released to the public domain anyone can use wikipedia content for any purpose, so granting permission for text or images to be on wikipedia alone is insufficient. If you absolutely have to have text from one source copied to wikipedia you can release that source text in a license like the GFDL or a compatible creative commons license. More details are available at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Second, wikipedia articles should be encyclopedia articles on subjects who have been covered by reliable, independent sources. They can not be used to promote a subject and almost invariably where text is copied from a personal or business website the tone will be inappropriate for a general encyclopedia. Lastly, editing articles about yourself or those close to you is often problematic. Please take a look at our policies on conflicts of interest. Protonk (talk) 19:41, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Bush League (band)

David Pajo -MichaelBorich (talk) 23:45, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

I was wondering why my band's page was deleted?

I started from David Pajo's page, our band is listed there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Pajo

We are a credible band, that was started in 1989. Here is another band David Pajo was in, we had more history written than this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Kong_(band)

If it was a matter of form, I will correct that.

Thank you for your time.

(edit: I was reading through some of the other pages that were deleted, it looks like I've got some work to do. Any advice would be appreciated.)

  • It was deleted by User:Stephen as it did not "indicate the importance or significance" of the band. That's a criteria to speedily delete a band page (WP:CSD#A7). You need to base articles on reliable secondary sources. Reading WP:GARAGE will give you a good idea of the general standard required. Also see WP:COI, as you say you're in the band so you have a conflict of interests.. Fences&Windows 02:22, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. This is the same answer as for a previous request from this IP range so please try to study the blue links and understand the issues raised. Otherwise this becomes disruptive. --Tikiwont (talk) 18:58, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Colonel Richard T. Curry

article has significant historical value. This article and Colonel Richard T. Curry has significance and relevance to Ohio Military History, he is the only Ohio National Guard Officer to have lead a Battalion (1-107th CAV) and a Brigade (37th IBCT) as a Commander into war (Iraq). He lead and conducted couter insurgency operations with 524 soldiers in Iraq in 2004-2005 and then commanded the largest single unit formation to go to war since WWII when he commanded the 37th IBCT in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), consisting of over 2528 soldiers. He was also the first commander of the 37th IBCT when it reorganized from the 37th Armor Brigade (he was also the last commander of that organization). The brigade accomplished more than any other Brigade size unit from the Ohio National Guard and is the largest formation Ohio has in it's military ranks (3700 soldiers). COL Curry is a notable commander and historical Ohio military figure due to being the only Ohio National Guard Officer to Command a large formation in combat since it was accomplished by MG R. Beightler during WWII wity the 37th Infantry Division. Wikipedia is a perfect place to have this information so that it can be built upon and kept for historical data research in the future. COL Curry is a prominate figure in Ohio Military History based on his accomplishments prior to retiring in 2010.

I respectfully request that you restore the article to wikipedia so that this piece of Ohio History can be told. Thank you for consideration in this matter. Bengal40 (talk) 20:51, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done This was speedily deleted because the article gave no reason why the subject was notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. I suggest you contact the admin that deleted the article, TomStar81 and tell him exactly what you just told us. I can also userfy the article for you if you wish. l'aquatique[talk] 00:33, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Userify request

I was looking for the following deleted pages to be userfied so I could work on them: Beachcomber (Transformers), Divebomb, Knock Out (Transformers), Long Haul and Mixmaster (Transformers). Thank you.Mathewignash (talk) 22:31, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

I'd be more than happy to do this, but I can't find the revision that this was added, and you did not sign your post. I need your username to userfy the pages, can you please respond to this and sign your post with four tildes? (~~~~). l'aquatique[talk] 19:50, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Done - User:Mathewignash/Beachcomber (Transformers), User:Mathewignash/Divebomb, User:Mathewignash/Knock Out (Transformers), User:Mathewignash/Long Haul, User:Mathewignash/Mixmaster (Transformers). There is a slight complication- because all of them (Except Knock Out (Transformers) were deleted and then a redirect was put on top of them, I cannot directly restore and move like you would normally do with a userfication because the histories would get merged. So for those, I simply restored the last revision prior to deletion. You won't have the whole revision history for those ones. l'aquatique[talk] 00:47, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, but I missed one. Can I get Dead End (Transformers) too? Sorry. Mathewignash (talk) 08:59, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Done. I'll recreate the original page and make another redirect in a sec. Also, you had an old version userified on that same name previously. Protonk (talk) 21:32, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Userify request

Can I please get the deleted contents of these pages userfied for I can look them over and see if there is anything salvageable?

Thank you! Mathewignash (talk) 21:43, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Done User:Mathewignash/Bumper (Transformers), User:Mathewignash/Cannonball (Transformers), User:Mathewignash/Chromia (Transformers), User:Mathewignash/Clench (Transformers), and User:Mathewignash/Dead End (Transformers). Alice (Transformers) does not have any deleted revisions that I can see, it's always been a redirect to "Characters in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen#Decepticons". l'aquatique[talk] 00:48, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

It must have had an article, I wrote it, and it got deleted from a deletion nomination here Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Alice_(Transformers) 00:53, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

See User:Mathewignash/Alice (Transformers). It was userified a while back. Courcelles 00:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
That would explain it- if it was moved it instead of deleted it wouldn't have showed up in the logs I was looking at. Thanks Courcelles. l'aquatique[talk] 01:13, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
I see why I couldn't find it. It was moved as a redirect page with a history. I had to revert it back into a page. Mathewignash (talk) 21:11, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

I don't fully understand are we saying that this local author is unimportant? and is so what would he need to be included in Wikipedia?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidisaacmaldonado (talkcontribs)

Not done. At Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Isaac Maldonado, your article has been declined several times. Wikipedia is for content about which there are meaningful reliable third party sources of information (eg news media articles). Takatak

A person created this page "Takatak" with less information and it was deleted. I've created a page by name "Takatak (band)" and it has notable information and I want to move that name to "Takatak" which is protected from recreation. Both of the pages are about the same topic. Please consider my request. -Splendsomeartistry (talk) 10:36, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Officially you want WP:RFUP ... I could do the move, but honestly, I fail to see real notability for the band ... I was prepared to speedy delete it, or AFD as a minimum. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:54, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Can you please open the page for sometime so I can add information to it then it might be notable 115.186.48.117 (talk) 13:35, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Infinite Frontiers

This is an organisation founded in 1989 that has run science fiction clubs, conventions, sports clubs, published magazines including one of the first digital Star Trek fan magazines released on home computers in the early 1990s. It is currently responsible for running Europe's largest Transformers convention, Auto Assembly. Deletion states that there were insufficient sources or that organisation was not notable but extensive ongoing work in sci-fi field counter to this. Believe that current and former members of organisation have contributed to content as have other individuals, but unsure of other references. -89.240.132.17 (talk) 15:57, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Done as contested prod. I have notified the deleting admin as the prod nominator was an IP that looks dynamic to me. l'aquatique[talk] 16:54, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Takatak

This page is deleted by mistake, It was underconstruction, It had some notable information. Please open it for a while and I will put as much information as I can and it will show some notability. -115.186.48.117 (talk) 18:01, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done. This title has been protected because it was repeatedly created, but gave no indication of meeting WP:BAND, which is the notability standard for bands. This band has released one single: WP:BAND is looking for something more like two albums on a major label, or a record on a national music chart. When they have made more progress and more impact, maybe they can have an article, but now it is too soon. If you think you can show they meet the standard, make a submission at WP:Articles for creation. JohnCD (talk) 18:13, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Takatak

This is the third time I'm requesting for undeletion. I know this page has no notability but I've created a page of the same band by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takatak_(band) and it has the full information of the band and It's notable. All I want is to move the page title "Takatak_(band)" to "Takatak" so that it's simple but it is blocking because the page "Takatak" is protected. Please consider my request. -115.186.48.117 (talk) 19:24, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I didn't realise you had put the article in a fourth time under a different title. Very well, I have moved it to "Takatak", but I am not convinced that it meets WP:BAND and am considering nominating it at WP:Articles for deletion to see what others think. You say that the single which is their only release so far "topped all local charts"; what charts? and can you provide references to confirm that? JohnCD (talk) 20:48, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

reasoning -QatarCebu (talk) 05:01, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

CJ Mac, D-Shot, Celly Cel, Choppa, The Shot Calla, Six Figures

All the articles mentioned above have needlessly been deleted User:Courcelles, I've tried to reason with him but he refuses to restore these articles. All have reached the Billboard charts with the most successful being Celly Cel who reached No. 4 on Billboard's R&B chart. Need refs? I can get them, all Courcelles had to do was see me about those articles and I would've gladly added references. I also realize someone unknown user recently recreated Celly Cel, any way you can get rid of that versio and restore to it's original version? Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk) 23:10, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I am going to add a bit more information. Four of these articles were deleted as expired {{prod}}s, the other two were deleted as WP:CSD#A9. I was curious, picked one of the individuals these articles described, and looked to see if there were any references for that article. Since references could be found, I requested restoration of Choppa. The deleting administrator did restore that article, and I added the references.
The last time I looked at WP:PROD it said the quality control volunteer who placed the {{prod}} tag was strongly recommended to leave a good faith heads-up of the tag on the talk pages of the article's initiator and possibly its major contributors -- but this was not actually required. Personally, I think this is a very serious weakness in the policy. If you look at User:Live and Die 4 Hip Hop's comment they experienced articles they were working on in good faith being deleted without warning. They should have got that warning seven days earlier.
Personally I think the nominator should be required to leave those heads-ups, and I would really like administrators who are considering closing expired {{prod}} to have a tool that checked to see if the required heads-up had been left. If that heads-up hadn't been left then I would like to see that tool leave the heads-up, and set the clock on that {{prod}} back to zero.
If I am not mistaken expired {{prod}}s are usually restored upon request, without question, although the administrator in question may warn the requestor that the article in question, in its current state, was vulnerable to a nomination at {{afd}}. Sometimes the administrator in question will give the {{prod}} tagger a heads-up, and recommend they initiate an {{afd}}. I am sure that a warning and heads-up are per policy. I am not sure if I have seen administrators restore an article they deleted as an expired {{prod}}, only to initiate the {{afd}} themselves. Is it recommended that the administrator who deletes an expired {{prod}} refrain from subsequently initiating an {{afd}}?
Someone has already created new article for Celly Cel. I'd like to suggest it would be appropriate for an administrator to graft the previous contribution history of this expired {{prod}} onto the new article. If User:Live and Die 4 Hip Hop is committed to making sure the remaining expired {{prod}}ed articles complied with our policies, would it be appropriate to restore them, even if User:Live and Die 4 Hip Hop used immoderate language when they first contacted the deleting administrator -- given that the articles appeared to have been deleted without warning?
In User:Live and Die 4 Hip Hop's comment above they described all six articles as being about artists. From the WP:CSD#A9 I got the impression that the remaining two articles were about songs, written and performed by one of the individuals whose articles which had just been deleted, on the basis that they were songs by artists where we didn't have an article on the artist. Do administrators usually delete articles on songs when the article on the article on the artist who performed the song is deleted?
At this time the four redlinks are CJ Mac, D-Shot, The Shot Calla, Six Figures, wikified here to make it easier for readers to examine the deletion logs. Geo Swan (talk) 22:27, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Done Thanks for the links. This was posted at the wrong end (top), so may have been overlooked. Some of Geo Swans questions are better raised on the talk page of this or WP:PROD, so let me just say that I agree that there should be a notice left. The principle cause that this hasn't become mandatory might be that none of our deletion notices are, that a proposed deletion should in general be chosen for uncontroversial cases to start with, can be contested easily and will usually be restored at request. In lieu of an obligation, the best is often to drop the tagger a note. I've now restored these - including the history of Celly Cel - since the deleting admin referred you here. As for the A9, many of or album articles are mostly track listings and thus rather poor without an artist article to connect them. The CSD A9 is meant precisely for this case, and have also be restored as the main articles got restored. --Tikiwont (talk) 20:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

John B. Kimble

This article about John B. Kimble who is a United States US Senate Candidate in Maryland in 2012 and the article was arbitrarily removed and wrongly removed. The article was getting numerous hits each day and had been reviewed last year for notability and there was no problem or notice of anyone seeking deletion. The article was removed without merit and in error as the article that was discussed in 2007 was different than the one that had been up for more than a year. Please restore it. Many thanks. 69.140.66.1 (talk) 08:58, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Not done. You will have to approach user JzG (talk), the admin who deleted the page: then, if you are not satisfied, you can go to WP:Deletion review. As a comment, though the new page is fuller than the previously deleted one, it still seems to me to show no notability apart from being a political candidate, which per WP:POLITICIAN is not enough; moreover, it reads like a campaign manifesto, and Wikipedia is specifically not for promotion of any kind. JohnCD (talk) 12:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I see that you were directed here from AN/I, and apologise that you are being given a tortuous course through Wikipedia's bureaucracy, but my advice above is the right way to go. JohnCD (talk) 15:58, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I appreciate your help. I could only find a deletion review from 2007 in the archives so this deletion seems very strange to me. I will contact JZG and ask him about reversal. Many thanks for your help.

69.140.66.1 (talk) 14:33, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

  • Calling people bigots does not amount to dialogue, nor does repeatedly making the same assertions without listening to the answers. The article was deleted at John Kimble (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) by Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Kimble, at Kohn Kimble it was the work of SPAs; shortly after deletion it was re-created at John B. Kimble (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), where again all non-trivial edits are by SPAs. The article was being used by his campaign team as a platform, this is not the first time he's run for election and he's failed to be elected thus far. Since the election falls before the WP:DEADLINE and there is significant evidence of past abusive use of this article, I think it's fair to wait for the election. Apparently I hold this view only because the subject is a devout Christian and I am a bigot. That seems to me to be as close as you get to an admission that the article is wanted for promotional purposes. Guy (Help!) 13:42, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
  • I don't think that the person was calling anyone a bigot but suggesting that because of an ethnic background a person may not be fair and unbiased towards a subject. It does look strange that the article was removed after three years or so and just done without any reasoning other than you saying it had been deleted previously. The entire world has become way too political and speech that was once normal now is not acceptable because of political correctness. 69.243.59.171 (talk) 03:46, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
  • The Deletion Review normally runs for seven days. At the end of that time an uninvolved administrator will close the discussion and take whatever action is required, restoring the article if that is the consensus. JohnCD (talk) 10:21, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

The Writings of J. Samuel Walker ‎

Was obviously deleted because someone wanted only the one article which was the bio of Walker. Please userfy the deleted material so I can incorporate all of the lost work I performed into the new redirect main article J. Samuel Walker ‎I have a degree in history and work with a graduate history department and find it quite surprising to have my work summarily destroyed without notice and no identification of the admin who did this. There is information now lost which needs to be incorporated into the remaining article. -Wikidgood (talk) 03:44, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

I'll userfy it into User:Wikidgood/Sandbox. Why on earth did you create a separate article, rather than improve the existing article? It makes no sense. --Orange Mike | Talk 03:51, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.
REPLY to "Orangemike"

"Makes no sense"? To you, perhaps.

It makes no sense to delete scholarly research without discussion.

As for the bifurcation, a personal history and an encyclopedic
presentation of writings are separate and distinguishable topics
and as I recall some writers do have separate entries. I hope you
don't delete them without at the least presenting the information

and the undeletion process. People new to wikipedia, which I suppose do not include myself since I have been on wikipedia for a number of years. are likely to get turned off when they spend hours researching a topic and their work suddenly disappears without notice or apparent recourse.

On your talk page you assert that you are a "deletionist" and it appear

s you are quite a contrarian in that you wear the color orange on St Patricks' Day. That is unusual, in fact, waaay off the bell curve. I think you should be aware that your position at the extreme

of the deletionist spectrum and your idiosyncratic
posture towards the green/orange "continuum" raises

the prospect that either 1) everybody else is wrong about Irish national rights and the sanctity of the American national holiday dedicated to reaffirming retirement of centuries of anti-Irish prejudice, or 2) you are unusually unsympathetic to a well-established

preference in the USA. Do you take editorial

action on that issue, and on, say,

the Ian Paisely page, the IRA page, etc.?
If you scanned my contributions, you will

see that I have edited a few conttoversial

historians and as far as I know no one has
wrecked or deleted or vandalized my contributions,

nor even initiated a deletion discussion.

Maybe that is simply because

I have not been as active. (Actually I

did experience on deletion, but it was a mistake which

the administrator promptly admitted.)

I would appreciate if you were to
re-examine your zeal for deletion. Also,

I don't believe that there is a precedent for a blanket policy for undialogued deletion of Writings-Of pages. Perhaps there should be a discussion of that.

I don't think that you assert a particular

expertise in history. I would like an opportunity to create Writings_of pages on, say, perhaps Wistrich or others. I think that is policy. If you think that there is some policy on Writings-of, I would appreciate if you would post what you think is pertinent.

I don't believe that your deletion was good

precedent and I don't know that a writings article even on Walker should be prohibitied. I don't know if I need to submit this to arbitration now or somehow lose the right,

but the issue in my opinion is not yet ripe

in that the page could use a lot more development.

But I take exception to your assertion that
it "doesn't make sense" to have a separate

and distinguishable Writings. There are wikipedia pages such as

   Miscellaneous Works of Edward Gibbon
   Writings of the Bab
   works_of_aleister_crowley

and on and on and on.

So IMHO, the deletion was rather arbitrary,

an individual administrator creating an

idiosyncratic personal policy, not newbie

friendly (and I was a newbie article-originator), and contrary to the apparent wikipedia SOP. Perhaps you would like to clarify whether

you are now planning to block, ban or
delete any further creation of such a page.
Since you are an admin and I am just an editor,
I don't see any recourse if I have drawn myself

into the jurisdiction of your rogue "deletionism". Perhaps you will be kind enough to clarify

your intentions and/or any appeals remedy

procedures. I realize that I could research appeals and remedies and policies but I would rather write about the underlying content than spend my precious research time learning how to fend off "deletionist" administrators.

I am not going to "resign" wikipedia, but

pending a more satisfactory resolution, I am going to research alternative outlets for my interest in writing, including venues

where my work is safe from random acts of deletion.
I don't deny that there is much to be said

for your view, but on some persons, such as Walker, it is less tedious and more fruitful to

focus on a long article on the writings of and

a short article on the personal history. You seem to have unilaterally forced the former into the rubric of the latter, artificially, and as far as I am concerned wikipedia is much less attractive for it.

Sorry to be so blunt and negative, but

I don't like having my work wiped out anonymously and I don't see why it "makes no sense" to do for

one of the most important historians in his
field to have the same treatment - a split

article on their opus - as many less important writers.

Maybe this was just a mistake on your part
and will be the end of it, but I feel as though
the situation for me on wikipedia is not where

it should be. I would appreciate some feedback of one kind or another.

It has been suggested to me that wikipedia

accrues to a sort of mob mentality in which people

with expertise can expect to be disappointed.

I am not in a state of disappointment, but I do feel discouraged on this, one of my first originated articles, and I don't think that the sanctity of the topic or the intellectual property, is being respected. Yes, it is CC-BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL, but that does not mean it is worthless.

On the "deletionism" continuum, at what point does it become a "vandalism"? Are "admins" gods or dictators?
Rather than taking the easy way of going around deleting other people's work, it would be more productive to actually perform constructive edits. The format I created would have worked just fine. So now who is liable to re-merge the information on less known writings into the main article. And if eventually there will be a separate Writings-of then what a waste of time to reformat twice. It just becomes a waste of time. So why don't you think about constructing some of the deleted material into the single unified article yourself?
As things stand, because of your act of deletion, other users dont have ready access to the deleted information. The least you could do would be to paste it into TALK page and put a notice at the bottom or top of the MAIN article so that browers would know there was more information available but not yet formatted.
All of this time consuming formatting and debate could have been avoided had you moderated your "deletionism". It takes you five seconds to destroy what takes hours to create. What a waste of my time.

Venus (band)

I don't know why the Venus (band) article is missing. When I searched for it I was directed to some Brazilian heavy metal band article. I haven't worked on this site in a long time so I don't remember how to use this site much anymore. I find it a bit ridiculous just to ask what happened to this article and if it was deleted that someone can restore it? The band's page on Wikipedia France still remains. -Kalle (talk) 20:45, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

  • It was redirected and someone has removed the redirect. For future reference if you click on a page that is a redirect you will be taken to the redirect target but at the very top of the page (on the left, right below the title) will be some blue text that will take you to the original page. From there you can access the content in the page history. Protonk (talk) 20:59, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
  • (ec) Thankfully, you remembered enough to find this page and file this request. The page was deleted as as proposed deletion so I've restored it and the overwrote the subsequent redirect as noted above. has been restored. The main concern for proposing deletion was complete lack of reliable sources. These need to be identified and added. The other concern is a better name since we have more than just one band with tis title. BTW, there isn't really staff around here. --Tikiwont (talk) 21:03, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Thankfully, I seen that my Facebook page was no longer showing the image for the band. Thanks for the information. I originally put the article together based on information from two of the band members as well as information from Emmanuel who took care of their old fan site (Out of Breath). The site is linked at the bottom of the article. The image I used for the infobox was taken from their Vertigone album booklet that I scanned. The band also gave me permission to use this, but I may no longer have all of the emails from my old email address to show proof of this. I don't know how all of the restrictions work on image use so pardon me. I also don't know how to edit the name of the page in order to change it to something better. Feel free to change the name to whatever you believe will be better suited. -Kalle (talk) 21:55, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
  • Perhaps "Venus (Belgian band)"? l'aquatique[talk]
  • Done Yeah maybe "Venus (Belgian band)", I thought more in terms of genre, but that isn't urgent with the current hat notes. I've also restored File:VG003.jpg because the deletion reason as orphaned wouldn't apply anymore. Nevertheless, I don't think the current fair use claim (added by another editor) is valid here since it isn't really about the album but rather about the band nor is it low resolution. So please check whether you can recover the original permission, otherwise it shouldn't stay. Sources can be discussed further at talk page.--Tikiwont (talk) 16:26, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done. Wikipedia is not a social-networking site like Facebook or Myspace for people to write about themselves. It is a project to build an encyclopedia; article subjects have to be notable, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", and people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves, for reasons explained at WP:Autobiography. I have appeared around the world on numerous tv shows. I have also had a court case against me which was dismissed in st Louis Missouri. This case is referenced by law students. I am on the international movie data base, in order to get on this site you have to be reffered by the television company, this site lists celebrities from Around the world. I have never posed for mens magazines , never appeared in pornography, so I am not a big bust model. Please refer to the last response you got to this request. Wikipedia is not facebook. You aren't entitled to an article simply because you exist. You won't find an encyclopedia with an entry on every person who ever lived. Someguy1221 (talk) 07:02, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Neither Anthony Bradbury nor Athaenara have "articles". However, they do have "user pages". (see User:Anthony Bradbury and User:Athaenara). If you wish to write a little bit about yourself at User:Fayzanzahid then per WP:USERPAGE you are welcome to do so. However, keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a social networking site still applies. If you have an extensive user page about yourself and have few or no contributions to articles, then your user page still might be subject to deletion. Sutter Wall

Someone deleted my entry for Sutter Walls under the mistaken belief that it was advertising. It took me a great deal of effort and time to create that entry and someone deleted it without even bothering to discuss his or her concerns.

The page is obviously not advertising, it is provided so that people who work in the Angeles National Forest as volunteers can find text describing these retaining walls and find photographs of what they look like.

I'm a volunteer trail maintainer and I find myself describing over and over what Sutter Walls are, ergo the creation of a Wiki page that describes them.

I am asking that the page be reinstated and that the individual who deleted it be informed about the suitable rules that should be followed. Damotclese (talk) 07:40, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Not done. We already have an article Retaining wall. This one was about a particular proprietary type of retaining wall system, with constant repetition of its name, phrases like "One of the main advantages of Sutter Walls is... " and a link to the manufacturers' web-site. If the Angeles National Forest makes particular use of this system, its own website is the place to tell the volunteers about it; that would also be a more suitable place for the detail about how to install and maintain them, as Wikipedia is not a how-to guide. JohnCD (talk) 10:45, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I can accept that since, well, it makes some sense. The wall itself is not proprietary since it is manufactured by hundreds of companies despite the unenforceable pretension on that one company's web site. I was amused to see that the company claimed ownership since it's rather like claiming patent on the @ key on the keyboard, the walls and manufacturers are so ubiquitous. Any way, thanks for the ruling. Damotclese (talk) 15:44, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Comment from one of the deleting admins Every version contained almost word for word copies of http://closingtheachievementgap.typepad.com/about.html. Additionally, the last deleted version contained huge amounts of copied text from Mr Tenner's work. Whilst this was cited, it goes far beyond what could be reasonably expected from a quote. They are also very spammy, and there's additionally no indication of notability. I've just explained this to Zeesolz (talk · contribs) on my talk page. GedUK  13:38, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Comment from another deleting admin I have also explained to Zeesolz that the subject of the article lacks wikipedia notability. and I still hold the same opinion. Copyvio and spam problems also make the article unacceptable. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 18:13, 8 February 2011 (UTC).

Hold up, this was an expired PROD- the content wasn't "webhost-y" at all. Notability is borderline but it wasn't, contrary to what 72.68.227.106 seems to imply, being used for posting math questions and having them answered- it was just an article about a website that does that. l'aquatique[talk] 01:03, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
  • More followup, since I was in class when I did the restore. This was not only a contested prod, but a prod made in 2006, so I don't want to reject a request like this based on a deletion decision made almost 5 years ago. The article itself needs some serious revamping, but hopefully the process fo normal editing will allow for that now that it has been restored. Protonk (talk) 03:40, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Several articles prodded by possible sockpuppet

Between Janurary 14 and February 1, a number of articles on Jewish-American mobsters of the 1920s and 30s were prodded by several one-time users (see [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]) . All of these were articles that have been the targets of longtime sockpuppet User:Mynameisstanley (see here). Mynameisstanley has attempted to prod these articles, going so far as removing references beforehand, using the exact same wording (e.g. "he is not notable", "Not notable", "lack of inline references").

  • Moe Sedway ()
  • Hyman Martin ()
  • Abraham Landau ()
  • Martin Krugman ()
  • Harry Keywell ()
  • Jacob Katzenberg ()
  • Phillip Kastel ()

While some of these were declined by editors, a significant amount were deleted. I believe all the deleted articles at least warranted going through AFD given the substantial number of sources these articles had as well as a clearly established claim for notability. One article, Morris Kessler, has already been restored by one administrator.

On a related note, File:JohnDio.jpg and File:LouisCohen.jpg were orphaned, and subsequently deleted, due to edits by User:Oh boy my danny boy and User:Koehann who were both found to be sockpuppets of User:אֶפְרָתָה (see the related sockpuppet investigation). I've left a note at the investigation page on the similarly of both User:אֶפְרָתָה and User:Mynameisstanley. 71.184.53.150 (talk) 17:08, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Tom Waits 1970

I added a few lines about Tom Waits and Rickie lee Jones, specifically that she was on the cover of Blue Valentine, a song which she inspired, in the context of their early years together and her own definitive version, at the time, of My Funny Valentine, which she performed live during the years they were together.

Extended content
. I also added that Rickie Lee Jones was asked to do the music for One From the Heart - before Bette Midler and Crystal Gayle, I know this, I was there.

I am representing Miss Jones here. I simply was adding a bit of factual history. I saw that Bette Midler was included on that paragraph his page, but for some reason Rickie lee Jones was not to be included in that same paragraph. the opinion of your enthusiastic editor, to include one artist and not another is confusing to me. I wondered why Bette Midler could have been included but not Jones. And it was rather depressing, since they were a very, very popular couple, and virtually nothing is included in this wiki page. One line. And factually, Jones' (first) Rolling Stone cover in 1979, her constant reference to her boyfriend Waits, did not do so very little to help Waits already 8 year songwriting career.

since wikipedia is compiled by the public, I was appalled at the exlusion of factual information about Waits early career, as well as his personal life as it relates to his career, and the inclusion, instead, of highly subjective remarks ( descriptions of the songs...which sound subject in the adjectives describing the work. I am not giving an opinion in my remarks, only facts. Why does wikipedia included opinions about the quality of his sound (blue valentine slbum description) and not facts about his life?

I will be omitting the content from my own page, and must tell you, my interest in wikipedia as a reliable source has just diminished considerably. Thank you.
Not done. Actually there's nothing to do as this article has not been deleted. This appears to be an editing dispute so you need to make your case on the article's talk page. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 00:28, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Firstly, the content was unsourced. Any content that does not cite a source is at constant risk of being deleted without discussion. Secondly, the detail was probably too great for an encyclopedia article. Thirdly, since the public is permitted to add any content to Wikipedia, the public is also permitted to remove any content from Wikipedia. When a dispute exists, editors are supposed to discuss the matter to find a solution. See Wikipedia:Dispute resolution for more information on how to go about this. There is no central authority that will simply come in and decide one way or the other. Someguy1221 (talk) 00:31, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
