Stephen Eckelberry

I recall that I used to have a wikipedia page two years ago, I happened to look for just now and it and it was gone. I don't see how the page could have violated any rules - maybe I'm not famous enough? Regards, Stephen Eckelberry — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eckelsteve (talkcontribs) 03:50, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

@Eckelsteve: The former article can be seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Stephen_Eckelberry&oldid=737425776 It was turned into a redirect to the Charades (film) for which he is most famous. The reason given was lack of independent reliable references about Stephen Eckelberry. We don't have anything to do here, as the conversion to a redirect can be reversed using the undo button. Draft:Mike Cox

User @Steffercat: created WT:Articles for creation/Mike Cox with the text 'Mike Cox still wants a Wikipedia page and I think he merits one. Please advise why his page was rejected and deleted.' So you folk might want to undelete the draft for him. As for WT:AFC page, I am nominating it for G6 housekeeping deletion. -103.6.159.93 (talk) 05:55, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Comment: It looks like this was deleted because it was stale - it was around since 2012 and it actually survived G13 for so long because one of the admins postponed deletion and continued to delay it by making just enough edits to keep it from being a candidate. My main hesitation for not restoring this is that Steffercat hadn't made any edits to the article since 2012, so we need some sort of assurance that if this is restored that they will edit and improve the article. My page name is TechJini_(company) My page was deleted stating that it was overly promotional and a company page. I've seen several approved company pages. Here some examples.

Can you please the approve page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramu1984 (talkcontribs) 10:56, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

That argument does not work. All pages have to pass our notability guidelines. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:22, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
Also, we don't restore pages deleted as promotional. It doesn't matter what else may exist on Wikipedia, each article stands or falls on its own merits. If you want, you may ask the deleting administrator Athaenara to consider restoring it to draft space for improvement, and resubmitting via WP:AFC. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:18, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

File:SIAE MICROELETTRONICA HQ.png

This file was recently deleted then re-uploaded. If I recall, the file was deleted per WP:F7 as replaceable, since it was a non-free file and had a fair-use claim, and I think this file is the same, meaning that this file upload would qualify for WP:F9 in its current state. But, I would need to see the deleted revisions to see if it would qualify for WP:F9 since I cannot recall what non-free source the file came from. —Steel1943 (talk) 19:59, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Something suspicious here. The current image and the original (deleted) image appear to be identical except for size. The deleted version says the copyright belongs to the company and the source is the company. The new version says it's the uploader's own work. The same person uploaded both versions. I'd ask for clarification, or perhaps an acknowledgment of COI. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:48, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
@Steel1943: it's the same file, and yes, it qualifies for F9 in its current state. Here is a copy of the original description page for reference. -FASTILY 01:38, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

I was able to look at that site, and found the image at https://www.siaemic.com/index.php/free-content-area/category/222-company-profile?download=776:comapany-lealfet and tagged the file as so. • Not done Sastasundar The article was a little promotional in tone and also looked to be closely paraphrased from the official website, at least in part. I also notice that your username is a violation of the username policy. Since you've only edited at AfC it looks like you're trying to follow guidelines to some degree - you likely just aren't aware of the various guidelines that concern conflicts of interest and copyright. Even though you're likely a person with the company itself, the content is still considered copyrighted until an official representative submits a ticket through WP:OTRS that gives Wikipedia permission to use the material. It would still need to be re-written for tone, but it would give you a little leeway with some terms and phrases. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 12:54, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

William Breukelman

Mr. Breukelman won the Order of Canada, the highest civilian honour in this country. He was an executive at the multinational firm IMAX corporation, and indeed one of its co-founders. This article should have been tagged expand, wikify, whatever, but not for deletion. —Zanimum (talk) 22:03, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Done. However, the article gave no indication of that — the entire contents are William Breukelman, O.C., MBA, P.ENG, is the former principal and chair of IMAX Corporation, and co-founder of Sciex Limited and Business Arts Inc.. He's not mentioned in the IMAX Corporation article, so if you've never heard of him you can reasonably question whether he's really a significant part of its history, and the other two are redlinks, so there's no reason to presume that they contribute to his notability. Since you have further information, please add it and demonstrate that he's notable, whether via the first point of WP:ANYBIO (the Order of Canada) or other stuff. Nyttend (talk) 00:08, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, I used to be able to create redlinks with references in various "List of people from X" articles, and once I was ready to write the article, at that point turn the redlink into a proper article. Over the last year or two, people have taken to deleting redlinks from the article, and thus I've taken to creating really short stubs. In this case, I forgot to define what OC means.
Anyway, thanks for the undelete. -- Zanimum (talk) 14:31, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Sound Strategies notability includes clients such as the Peabody Award winning website scotusblog.com (see http://www.scotusblog.com/about/ and http://soundst.com/2013/03/scotusblog-wins-coveted-peabody-award/), the Abrams Media websites, and numerous other media properties. It was responsible for managing one of the largest traffic spikes in US internet history (see http://soundst.com/2012/07/scotus-blog/). Additionally, Andy LoCascio hosted the fishing TV show Northeast Angling for 8 years (the longest running fishing show in the Northeast and the longest running continuous web presence. Speedy deletion of 'Hearts On Noses' at user page

Hi, I'd be grateful to have the text for Hearts On Noses restored, possibly to my user page from which it has just disappeared - it had only been restored there for 2 hours after the previous speedy deletion which went ahead despite my plea for it on its talk page (attached in next section below)... it was my intention to edit it it to a point at which it might appear a little less wiki-unworthy, but I don't wish to recreate it from scratch...

@Yadsalohcin: please ask the deleting admin Anthony Appleyard to restore the user space draft User:Yadsalohcin/Hearts On Noses. The contested deletion rationale was invalid, because WP:CSD#A7 applies to organizations, not animals, and the article is about the organization, which isn't notable. ~Anachronist (talk) 21:08, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Dear Anachronist, thanks for this. If anybody had explained the invalidity, it was gone before I could view it, so this is a help. I've asked Anthony Appleyard as you suggest, (tho' on that page it was suggested I come to this one) in case I can find something more about the organization to help it towards a less un-notable description. First, it would've helped to show why you think it's better now and what there is to show in our policies; next, that article was considerably advert-formatted so it's unlikely his career has significantly improved to satisfy the standards and policies here. Next is the concern it was deleted twice before as advertising. SwisterTwister talk 04:12, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adam Afara, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user MBisanz (talk · contribs). Communists for Kerry

I would please like the mainspace-content-with-history and the talkpage-with-history, restored to draftspace (i.e. d:cfk and dt:cfk), or if that is not okay for whatever reason, then userfied. Material in question was a bluelink, recently deleted after an AfD that was correctly closed. I am working on related topic-matter, a 'parent-article' currently in draftspace, which contains a rewrite of the recently-deleted-CFK-content as a subsection. I would like to dig through the history-tab of the CFK page, and the CFK talkpage-history, to see if there are any RS which I am unaware of. Other context, might be relevant: I have discussed with the deleting-admin that closed the AfD, and they took no action but suggested I ask here at the WP:REFUND queue, as did a second admin similarly suggest whom I contacted via the relevant category. If this is not the place to request a post-AfD-draft-i-fication, I would ask someone please provide me a clue where to do so, thanks —47.222.203.135 (talk) 23:45, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Tokyogirl79, this is quoting from the WP:REFUND talkpage-notice: "...[a]lternatively, you may instead request on this page that the article be userfied... such requests are usually approved here."
#1) I'm not asking for undeletion-to-mainspace, I'm asking for WP:USERFY-to-draftspace.
#2) I did already discuss with the deleting-admin, they told me specifically to make my request here at WP:REFUND, and this instruction was confirmed by a second admin who also said to ask here at WP:REFUND, specifically.
#3) I don't think that I 'want' WP:DELREV because I do not disagree with the AfD close. I want userfication/draftspace-i-fication, because I need the contrib-history of the CFK article, for a related but distinct article I'm working on, BLP of one of the people who was *involved* with CFK, back in 2004.
  • That being said, I'm happy for you to gently point me in the correct direction... maybe I really do want WP:DELREV? ...even though I agree the deletion was correct? ...and even though am merely seeking userfication rather than undeletion per se? Please help the poor anon who has never seen a 'formal' noticeboard-assisted refund, nor participated in a deletion-review-process, figure out what I 'really want' from the wiki-verse :-) 47.222.203.135 (talk) 12:12, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

My initial reply above explains why the article is ineligible for restoration by request on this page, and also explains exactly what you need to do. I suggest you ask the deleting administrator to consider restoring it to draft space, where you can work on it. And by the way, we can't use Instagram as a source, notability is not inherited by virtue of being seen with other famous people, and being "famous" is irrelevant to Wikipedia anyway. The criteria for inclusion are spelled out in Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Politicians and judges, and you may also want to review WP:POLOUTCOMES. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:01, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

The deMon2k Program was deleted due to promotion. Perhaps it could be recovered as a draft so can be changed to be encyclopedic and looks less like a download description. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:37, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Simulacra (album)

I, Darky666, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Darky666 (talk) 15:08, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Done - as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored on request. Please edit the page to address any issues raised, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia.
You will need to tone down the promotional puffery before it is acceptable for publication in main space. WP:NPOV is not negotiable. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:01, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Ameri100

I have created Draft:Ameri100 and feel that the company is a notable one. I have referenced the information. I have no intention in making the article a promotional one as in case of the previous versions that have been deleted earlier. Ameri100 is currently locked and required admin involvement for the draft to be shifted to article mainspace. I request it to be done. —Anasuya.D (talk) 00:01, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

I think you will need more than listings and acquisition news to demonstrate notability though. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:31, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
I agree. @Anasuya.D: please see WP:CORP for inclusion criteria. For a brief overview, see WP:Golden rule. I have moved some infobox content from the deleted promo version (which cited zero sources) to the draft article. This needs to go through the regular WP:AFC review process. Good luck. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:01, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
I have left a note at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ameri Holdings. I was unaware of the issues. A friend works there and I had known the company to be a reputable and credible one. I understand that the mentioned references are not enough to establish 'notability' and possibly this establishes the credibility of the company. I admit that it would possibly have been a good idea to go through regular WP:AFC process and I was attempting just that but some new account suddenly moved it into mainspace. Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea

Someone else already made a "Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea" page which was deleted. I believe hat the subject of the article is important enough to warrant an article even if the original article was poorly constructed. I am not, nor do I know, who originally wrote the article. Hello (company)

the company is notable (one of the most successful Kickstarter projects) and many reliable sources are available relating to the topic. —Daylen (talk) 20:19, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

I suggest that you write it again without restoration of content written by someone trying to avoid a block. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:51, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

1= Nikki DuBose

|2= Hello,

I am the publicist for Nikki DuBose and are trying to update her page but the new content keeps getting deleted. I updated the early life and education, infobox, and author and advocacy sections. Please restore them, thank you!

Note: The page isn't deleted, therefore there's no reason to undelete it. Please follow the instructions on the deletion tag in order to contest (if a speedy deletion or prod/stickyprod) or argue against (if a deletion debate) deletion. This page is not for contesting reversions. I will note that as the subject is your client you should not be editing her article and you will need to disclose the relationship as per our Terms of Use. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:18, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
User:Amalia.crawford, the content that you added, was 'reverted' (aka undone and removed from the article -- at least temporarily) which is different from 'deleting' it. The changes you made were removed, but can still be viewed in the following location, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nikki_DuBose&action=history
So for instance, here is an edit where you attempted to change the photograph which depicts Nikki DuBose at the top of the article -- https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nikki_DuBose&diff=762501050&oldid=762498737
Eight minutes later, your change was undone (aka reverted) by User:Triptothecottage, with the following reason: "edits breaking syntax, unsourced, failing npov." That is not to say that your changes will never be allowed, User:Amalia.crawford, just that they were problematic, because they were breaking syntax (see WP:WIKIMARKUP), were unsourced (see WP:REFB), and were failing npov (aka not sufficiently neutral see WP:NPOV). You can see what happened in the 'view history' button at the top of the Nikki DuBose article, or you can look at the particular undo aka revert here -- https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nikki_DuBose&diff=762507311&oldid=762506470
As suggested by Jéské Couriano, above, please carefully read WP:PSCOI and also WP:TOU for wikipedia. Anybody can edit, and you are welcome to become a wikipedian, but you need to work really hard to stay neutral and also to suggest changes at Talk:Nikki_DuBose rather than just *changing things in the article when you are getting paid by the person the article is about*. That is rarely going to end up compliant with the WP:NPOV rules here, and everybody has to follow those rules, even -- especially -- people that are publicists. 47.222.203.135 (talk) 14:51, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
