Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 January 23
Another Project Gutenberg author who was missing an article. Comments welcome. Tkotc (talk) 00:03, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think the article reads well and has solid sources. Stevenson's Remarkable Ohio page says the library he founded at Camp Sherman "became a model for others nationally." If you could delve into that more, I think it would enhance Stevenson's notability, especially on a national scale.--Scaleshombre (talk) 15:56, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into what I can add about it.Tkotc (talk) 01:45, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

- While well-structured, it reads more like a cv than a biography. Why should we care about this person? What has he done that is notable enough to be discussed in reliable sources.
- I see that he is CEO of a company, but I haven't learned hardly anything about what they do. They finance companies? Hundreds of finance companies do this, what is special or interesting about this one?
- He has co-authored some papers. Have any of these papers been discussed in any depth? Have they had any impact?
- You mention he has an investment in a microfinance company? Why? I assume he has investments in hundreds of companies. Why is this investment notable?
- His election to the Ashoka Fellowship might be interesting, but "economic development" is hardly enlightening.
- Making the cut for a proposal at the G-20 Seoul Summit sounds potentially interesting, but a proposal to "catalyze finance" tells me almost nothing. (The concept of catalysts in finance sounds intriguing, so I'm not disparaging it because it sounds uninteresting, but for the opposite reason—you've teased, and told me nothing.)
- Sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I fear that someone may challenge this article on the basis of Notability, and I've tried to outline some areas whether improvements would be very helpful. On a positive note, I appreciate that you included quite a few references, most ne editors struggle in that area. You might look at Referencing for beginners, which will show you how to make your references a little more professional.--SPhilbrickT 20:07, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
There is a problem with the "climate" section of this article, and it cannot easily be edited. Don't know why.

Hello. This page is for getting reviews of new articles. The best place to discuss specific changes to the Latvia article is Talk:Latvia. If you're having technical problems trying to edit the article, the people at Wikipedia:Help_desk are best placed to help you. Regards --Physics is all gnomes (talk) 16:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
This is an article about a now-defunct transport company that started the first regular bus service in Nepal in 1959. Would be grateful for any feedback.

- Looks pretty good! In terms of referencing, more inline cites would be an improvement. But as it is, it is pretty good. I'd also recommend trying to find news articles that don't seem to be written by members of the family of the founders, if possible. (I'm assuming this is the case based on their similar names...) Also, one important thing - please edit the image page for the photo to explain who took the photo and why you own the copyright to it. Maybe it was taken by a relative and you inherited the copyright when they died? Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:33, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, really encouraged. The photo was taken by Pushpa Ratna Tuladhar (a family member), and many copies of it are in circulation within the family from whom this one was obtained. Can non-English newspaper articles be included in References? Grateful for your help.Karrattul (talk) 05:08, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Just started this page for my local rugby club - bit quite to start with but am working on it
Groovetown83 (talk) 11:50, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- The most important thing is that you need to establish why this rugby club is notable. Essentially, this involves finding third-party references and adding them to the article. What newspaper articles out there discuss the history of the club? The club's success record? If you don't add these to the article, it could be in danger of being deleted. (Most amateur sports clubs are not notable - what makes yours special?) Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:35, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Looking for some feedback on my first article, and to get rid of the new article box on top of it.
Summary: The AN/ALE-47 chaff and flare dispensing system is used on a wide variety of military aircraft to protect them against missiles. It is widely used in the US military as well as by many other countries, according to its manufacturer BAE Systems. It works by taking data from the aircrafts EW systems to launch countermeasures at the optimum time. It consists of a cockpit control unit, sequencer units, countermeasure dispensers and an optional programmer.

- Hi and welcome! It looks pretty good, except for the first sentence: "The AN/ALE-47 Airborne Countermeasures Dispenser System is a countermeasure dispenser system..." which is kind of repetitive ;-) Could it possibly be rephrased? I also think that the lead would benefit from a bit more explanation for layreaders about what a countermeasure is. I've removed the new article box. All the best, --Physics is all gnomes (talk) 16:24, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
This article provides standard information about Mount Saint Joseph, Milperra, a high-school in Australia. The school is referenced in the Milperra, New South Wales page, but there is no page/information about the school itself.

The article contains standard biographical information about a living person. All factual information is accurate and most of it can be confirmed by consulting the links provided. Comments on content, grammar, style and organization would be most welcome.

Please take a look at my work on the ACE Broadcasting Network. I looked for articles regarding the network and its shows and found sources from the LA Times, the NY Times, Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, and DV Magazine. I don't think notability is an issue if these sources find it newsworthy, but please let me know if you find it to be questionable.
In connection with this new article, I removed content from the The Adam Carolla Show (podcast) page. See the following comparison: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Adam_Carolla_Show_(podcast)&action=historysubmit&diff=409657200&oldid=409528370
Let me know if you have questions. Thanks!
