Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 August 7

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a new article about Mya-Moe brand ukuleles. I've written this article using information about the instruments (models, types) as well as about the company who manufactures the ukuleles. Thanks for your review!

A friend of mine and I re-wrote the page of an online world called vSide, I was wondering if someone could read it (or some of it) and give us some feedback on it. Thanks in advance.

The article was deleted, apparently at your request. —teb728 t c 07:14, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have created the above article and finding it difficult navigating the many pages of help on Wikipaedia to establish if the article is acceptable or correctly done. The content is correct I just need some advice from someone who has done this before and knows what might be missing. Am not even sure if I have published the article at this stage. Thank you.

You've done a nice job of writing an article about an interesting person,a dn a particularly nice job wikilinking. However, one of the pillars of Wikipedia is verifiabily.. We have to show that the information coems from reliable sources. This is done by adding inline citations to the sources. For help in adding references, see Referencing for beginners. If it isn't clear, just ask me at my talk page. Yes, it is published, but it will be removed if references are not added.--SPhilbrickT 12:12, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the Land Before Disambiguation Pages...horizontal lines separated the various "articles" at one location. I will take you to an article that resembles that: Hollywood Minute. It's the equivalent of items that would probably be standalone articles blended into one.

Should it be split into the three items that are implied: an (SNL) article, a (CNN) article, and a (Canadian company) article? Are the latter two, especially the Canadian company, notable? Any advice?

Hello. This is a translation of a GA from Polish Wikipedia. I would like it to replace the somewhat incoherent, wordy, and OR-ish Shell sort some day. I would greatly appreciate any comments. Please note that following all the references, I use the spelling Shellsort rather than Shell sort.

Appreciate your feedback on my article about Sri Vidwan Late Chakingal Krishnankutty Master, Kavassery

At the moment, there is nothing indicating that the subject meets the Notability requirement, and there are no references to reliable sources.--SPhilbrickT 12:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just created a page for Athletes Without Limits, the U.S. organization responsibile for eligibility, etc, for national and international Paralympic competition and member of INAS. With London 2012 around the corner, and athletes with intellectual disability represented for the first time in over a decade, I wanted to get this page up for anyone looking for info, etc, on the organization. I need help, etc, with properly citing the references, as i am not experienced with Wikipedia page production or editing. Official website of Athletes Without Limits: www.AthletesWithoutLimits.org.

Thanks for any help on references, content, etc.!

This is a new article on Verified Audit Circulation. A prior article by a different contributor had apparently been written and then deleted back in 2008. Thanks for taking a look at this piece.

Hello: I would be grateful if some experienced editor could take a look at this. Thanks.

The "Diamondback Bicycles" article is my first in Wikipedia, and I just wanted to be sure it is suitable for the live version of the encyclopedia. As time permits, I do hope to expand this article. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Cecraig77 (talk) 21:24, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have reviewed the article, I'm actually surprised that there isn't already an article about it, so it probably fills a hole here. I do have a few concerns which should be addressed before it is moved to mainspace:

  • Wikipedia articles should not be used as reliable sources in other Wikipedia articles, this is to prevent circular sourcing.
  • The article needs more references in third-party reliable sources like bike magazines, books, or newspapers, this is to prove notability.
  • Blogs are not considered reliable sources unless they are by an established expert in the field. See WP:BLOGS

When these concerns are addressed, if you need help moving the article, you can ask me on my talk page (Click here), or at Wikipedia:Requested moves#Uncontroversial requests. Quasihuman | Talk 11:31, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quasihuman,

Thank you for reviewing the Diamondback article. I have removed the references to Wikipedia articles and to blogs and have added references from third parties that appear to be reliable. At your convenience, please review the article again and let me know your thoughts as to whether or not it is ready to be moved to the live version of Wikipedia.

Sincerely, Cecraig77 (talk) 17:00, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to know if there is anything that may hinder the article from being a FA once nominated. It has gone through one peer review and a copy-edit from WP:GOCE. Thanks
