Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2010 June 18

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Comments invited about this article I have written, please. It describes the origin and construction of the Australian and N.Z. slab hut, and some of its presence the cultures of those nations: literature and art.

Anything need fixing before I make it go 'live'?

Many thanks for your time.

A very thorough article. I think you should maybe add an infobox to the top of the article though - it would be a good idea. I recommend maybe taking a look at Template:Infobox and using the example detailed here. Hope this helps! If you have any queries/questions/thoughts about my reply or about using an infobox please send me a message at my main account's talk page. Thanks! Oldman River Tubing and Raft Tours

[edit]
Proposed article here
Oldman River Tubing and Raft Tours, formerly known as Oldman River Park Rentals and Tours, Lethbridge, is a privately owned rental company based in Lethbridge, Canada.

It was founded by Todd Hudson and his family in 2009. Prior to opening in 2009, the company was granted reasonable 'facilited access' to the Oldman River valley parks system after a presentation by Mr. Hudson to Lethbridge City Council.[1] In 2010, the company changed its name to better express its variety of rental offerings. Today, it is a rental and concession company with an emphasis on providing the public easy access to the river[2], family participation, public education on safe river practices[3], and low prices.

The company operates its summer 'Rental Shacks' at two locations:

Botterill Bottom Park is at the south end of Indian Battle Park and at Highway 3 at the Oldman River in Lethbridge. Both locations offer :

  • Professional river tubes
  • Single and tandem kayaks
  • Mountain and tandem bicycles
  • 4 person rafts
  • Fishing gear
  • Barbecue meal packages with rentals

Comments

I think the article is coming along nicely. It's great that you've added at least some references, but try not to rely on one reference for the whole of the article - please do not delete the references you have already, as they are fine, but please try and add references from more varied locations if you can (i.e. different websites/books/magazines). For more information please see WP:CITE. Thanks! Chevymontecarlo - alt 11:46, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote an article about a computer science/mathematic subject with some publications (even if it's not a major field of computer science), and who may eventually give results for important arithmetic questions. I hope it is sufficiently important to be accepted for a wikipedia article. And since I'm french, any feedback on the form of it would be appreciated. The link is here [circuit], and if you can leave me a message on my talk page to tell me your feedback, it would be nice

Pretty good - though I'd recommend more references and sources to prove its accuracy and notability. I'm not sure about the text itself, but it seems pretty good also. If you wan someone to check if the text is good, I'd leave someone in WikiProject Math, or Computers a message. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 05:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm kind of discovering the subject myself, so I may add them while I read. It is not a big field. If you can ask for someone to check the text, please do it. Arthur MILCHIOR (talk) 11:12, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Judging from their contributions to articles like that, User talk:PrimeHunter or User talk:DavidWBrooks would probably be able to check if you ask them.

You should add more reliable third party sources and references to prove the accuracy and notability of the article. A picture and infobox are also always good too. Good job though!~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 06:45, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for feedback on a draft bio of Harry Nelson

It should be admitted that I am Harry's son, and therefore the neutrality of the whole venture can be called into question. But I do believe that he meets the criteria for notability, and have tried to keep an objective tone. Please let me know what you think.

Pretty good, it is neutral, but you may wish to add more reliable third party sources and references to prove that the info is accurate and that he is notable enough for an article. A picture and infobox are also always good. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 18:34, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The AZFinText system is a textual financial stock market prediction system. It is notable because it is the first system of its kind to use financial news article information and make trades from them.
