Asymmetrical round robin generator

[edit]

Is there any online round robin fixture generator which creates asymmetrical calendars (where teams in second half don't play teams exactly same order as in first half)? All online fixture list generators do only symmetrical calendars. --40bus (talk) 17:22, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why not just use one anyway, and then randomise the second half? {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 51.198.55.125 (talk) 19:43, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How to do that? In leaguerepublic.com and fixturelist.com, there is no option to do that. Can you tell me a service where there is an option to do that? --40bus (talk) 19:48, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Manually. Take a 20-team league, so two sets of 19 fixtures. Assign the numbers 1-19 to the first 19 fixtures. Generate a randomized list of the numbers 1-19 (e.g. 16, 4, 1, 6, 13, etc...) and sort the second 19 fixtures according to that randomized list. random.org is one such sequence generator. — Lomn 14:52, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And where to create match rounds? --40bus (talk) 13:11, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add to history of women judges in Texas

[edit]

I served as the first Black woman Judge in Houston, Texas, in 1973, and promoted to the Harris County, Texas Court in 1974, again 1st Black and the 1st Black Woman Judge of a Civil District Court of Texas in 1978, so how can I be added. Alice Bonner AliceBonner (talk) 20:56, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AliceBonner. Please read Your first article and use the Articles for Creation process since you have a Conflict of interest. Also worth reading is WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY. Cullen328 (talk) 21:11, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I rather think her query is not so much about getting an article on herself as it is about how she can be added to List of first women lawyers and judges in Texas. To Ms Bonner: unfortunately, this information cannot be added unless it appears in a reliable independent third-party source stating your achievements. See the list for examples of the kind of sources that are acceptable. If you have such sources, please post them here and someone will add them for you (you can't do it yourself). --Viennese Waltz 09:25, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here, in a blog, Alice Bonner is named as becoming the first African American woman state judge in Harris County, Texas in 1979. Apart from it being questionable whether a blog can be used as what we call a "reliable source, there is a discrepancy between the years 1978 and 1979. The article "The Houston 19 and the Road to Justice" may contain relevant info, but I could not access it.  --Lambiam 12:44, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Appendix 2 Officeholders in the book Black Texas Women has this:[1]
1974     Alice Bonner: Municipal court judge, Houston; county criminal court judge, 1977; judge, 80th State District Court, 1978; first black female judge in Harris County and Houston and the first to sit on a Civil District Court in Texas
The 80th State District Court of Texas is located in Harris County.[2], p.2 We are still lacking a source for the year 1973. --Lambiam 13:11, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This journal article states that "Six years [after 1966], Alice Bonner, an alumnus of the Texas Southern University School of Law who graduated in year 20 of the Law School, was elected to a state district judge position". Warofdreams talk 00:40, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The journal article was also linked to above. I do not have access to the text. In general, there is delay of a month or more between a scheduled election and the elected candidate assuming office. I think this is a plausible explanation of discrepancies like 1966 + 6 = 1972 ≠ 1973 and (noted above) 1978 ≠ 1979. But if we write "1973" in the article, it ought to be cited from a source that unequivocally implies "1973". Does someone here know election dates and taking-office dates in Texas in the seventies? Also, the "promotion" referred to in the OP, was it the result of an election or due to some internal procedure of the Texas judiciary? (My knowledge of the Texas court system is negligible, and the website of the Texas courts is rather uninformative.)  --Lambiam 20:34, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
