Identify these EU leaders

[edit]

[1] Macron, Merkel and Johnson are easy, but who are the other four? (There are two others to Merkel's right, but they're obscured from view.) --Viennese Waltz 10:12, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I thought this would be easy by looking at the list of current members of the EU Council (Heads of Government of each EU member), see https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/european-council/members/. But I can't work out who the man with the white beard is. Reverse image search of the photo shows it was taken at/after a UN Climate Sunmmit, so they might be world leaders from non-EU countries. That's my best guess, sorry. Prokhorovka (talk) 08:27, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The bearded man looks like Miguel Arias Cañete, EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy. It would make sense that he would be sitting next to Donald Tusk at a meeting of EU leaders on climate issues. Xuxl (talk) 19:34, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But Donald Tusk is not in the picture. --Viennese Waltz 06:56, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I found these other photos taken at around the same time [2] [3]. They don't look like they will help with the main unidentified ones from the previous photo but there's chance the ones hidden by Merkel could be identified. Nil Einne (talk) 09:44, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
https://www.politico.eu/article/european-powerhouses-point-finger-at-iran-in-attack-on-saudi-oil-assets/ seems to point at a Johnson/Macron/Merkel meeting. MilborneOne (talk) 09:57, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, while the context of this meeting isn't clear from the various mentions of it, all sources I found only refer to those three and some even call it a tripartite leader meeting or similar. It's possible some leaders of the EU itself were present but I doubt there were any leaders or representatives of other EU countries. The lack of any mention of anyone else in any sources I found makes me think that whoever they are, they probably aren't that significant in political terms (whatever their significance in power terms). Probably even someone like Miguel Arias Cañete is unlikely. Nil Einne (talk) 10:32, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I found these other photos taken at around the same time [4] (direct link to image) [5] (direct link to image), [6] (direct link to image). They don't look like they will help with the main unidentified ones from the previous photo but there's chance the ones hidden by Merkel could be identified and maybe some of the others not really visible in the earlier image. (There are other's e.g. [7] (direct link to image, [8] (direct link to image), [9](direct link to image) which I found but they don't look like they will help with anything.) Nil Einne (talk) 10:24, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The name badges and lanyards on the other people suggest they are not leaders but some other type of bureaucrat. I'm not sure about the guy with the beard, but the guy opposite him is also sporting a lanyard. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:44, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You're probably right that they're officials, apologies for the misdirection but I somehow assumed they were leaders or at least ministers. Also in support of your theory is that both Merkel and Johnson have name plates on the table (although Macron seems to have lost his), while the blokes at the other end of the table don't. --Viennese Waltz 08:05, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Judging by the last image link posted by Nil Einne, Macron has been busy crushing his name plate beyond recognition. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:32, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The fifth person from the left is the German government's spokesperson Steffen Seibert. --Pp.paul.4 (talk) 09:48, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Colour photographs of Adolf Hitler

[edit]

Are there any colour photographs of Adolf Hitler? I mean photographs that were originally shot in colour, not recoloured black-and-white photographs, or drawings or paintings. JIP | Talk 10:14, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There are, yes. See here, for example (don't click if you don't want to give clicks to the Daily Mail, btw). --Viennese Waltz 10:25, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There are home movies of Hitler which are in color.[10]Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots13:33, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
