[edit]Japanese seal
[edit]There are three columns of text here[1], two of which I can make out: column 2: サンプル and column 3: 株式会社. What's the first column?
Also, what's the name of the font used in these seals? Scala Cats (talk) 23:06, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
- I think they're columns of text. The writing style is some form of Seal script. I didn't actually know that Kana have seal script forms! AnonMoos (talk) 00:16, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you, it's columns instead of rows. Fixed. Scala Cats (talk) 02:38, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- To clarify, the three columns pertain to the middle seal. I'm guessing that all three seals say the exact same thing though, so if you could decipher any of the other two seals it would help too. Scala Cats (talk) 05:41, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- I can read the left-most column in the middle one: it's "印鑑之印". If it were in Chinese it would be roughly "seal for sealing" - perhaps someone who speaks more Japanese can confirm whether it means something different in Japanese. The seal script should be read right column to left column, so it's 株式会社サンプル印鑑之印.
- I think the text in the middle of the two round seals is "代表取締役印", "seal of the representative/managing director". --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 13:07, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yep, that's sounds about right. Thanks a lot! Scala Cats (talk) 20:52, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
