[edit]Die with concentric coloured rings
[edit]I found a die with concentric coloured rings on the sides. Each side has 3 rings with a dot in the centre. Each face has a different colour for the rings. What game might it have escaped from? DuncanHill (talk) 16:24, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- Not an answer, but you might look at games for young children, not able to deal with numbers yet. StuRat (talk) 16:37, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- I had those when I taught K-4. They didn't belong to a game. I purchased them from the craft store. Are you certain that they came out of a game? 209.149.113.5 (talk) 17:14, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- Not exactly the same, but I found Six Spot Color Dice (set of 4) which are "Great for math color and graphing activities and games!". There seem to be a number of board games that use similar dice, some for young children Christmas Surprises, but others are more sophisticated such as Box of Golf: A Classic Golf Board Game . However, I was unable to find ones with concentric rings like yours. Alansplodge (talk) 17:51, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- A quick search for "colour dice" shows many examples with different colours on each face, either solid or patterned - though I could't spot your exact design, which may indicate that they are older. Various simple board games for young children have used colour instead of numbers, and they have also been used in teaching some aspects of maths. Wymspen (talk) 20:43, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- A Google Images search on
dice concentric colored circles
quickly finds results. The cases I found were sold as stand-alone, e.g at http://www.ezoops.co.uk/16mm-concentric-circle-dice-pack-of-5-148-p.asp and http://www.royal-games.com/en/colours-dice/concentric-circle-dice.html. PrimeHunter (talk) 01:00, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
This is the same die that comes with this: http://www.melissaanddoug.com/suspend-family-game/4371.html I have played it myself so I can confirm. Mingmingla (talk) 01:54, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks everyone for trying. DuncanHill (talk) 01:52, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
Julia Stewart/Stuart
[edit]I'm not sure if the help desk or here is proper place for this, but...
Evidently, Julia Stewart (actress) and Julia Stuart on IMDb are one-and-the-same. Since neither WP or IMDb are considered a "reliable source", I don't know what should be done regarding related WP articles, including the dab: Julia Stewart, (where I made an edit before realizing the presumed identity error). There are some discrepancies between those biographies, but the concurrences clearly suggest that they are the same person. I don't have the time or inclination to do an exhaustive investigation, but thus-far haven't discovered whether this is a contemporary "also billed as" error, or a recent transcription error, or whatever. Any assistance appreciated —2606:A000:4C0C:E200:51F3:8BF2:45BE:D2A4 (talk) 18:34, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Resources has LOTS of alternatives to IMDB. Have you tried some of the recommendations there? --Jayron32 18:37, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- No, but I just now found a RS for "Julia Stuart (aka Stewart)" [1]. 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:51F3:8BF2:45BE:D2A4 (talk) 18:40, 2 March 2017 (UTC) -- Resolved.
