more about figure skater

[edit]

Who can provide more information about Chinese Taipei figure skater Melinda Wang?24.90.204.234 (talk) 07:34, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The only English information I found on her was this. Your best bet is to contact someone at Chinese Wikipedia. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 10:35, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Tyson's Punchout

[edit]

I remember hearing when I was a kid that there was a "cheat" to enable Little Mac to "catch" Doc (I think that's his name...the trainer) on his bicycle in the cut scenes of Mike Tyson's Punchout for NES. Is this true? I also heard that if you managed to catch him, you got to play a secret round where Little Mac fights Tyson bare-knuckled. David Able 19:04, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A quick search of GameFAQs doesn't turn up such a secret on either Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! or Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but they don't know about it. --McDoobAU93 19:27, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have a feeling, if anything, it was probably a Game Genie trick. The part about the bare knuckle secret match I think is probably bogus. The other day I hooked my old NES (still works, even though I've been through 2 Playstation 3's in as many years) up for my son, and all these old memories came back. I even remembered the old Contra 30 lives code :). Thanks for the reply.

Old time travel story?

[edit]

I am trying to find out about an old time travel-themed story from a long, long time ago. It was written in a 'found document' style and had a name along the lines of 'Document Found In A Copper Cylinder'. Does this story exist, or was I dreaming?--Editor510 drop us a line, mate 21:14, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking maybe Lovecraft, which turned out to be wrong, but his article did point me to this: A Strange Manuscript Found in a Copper Cylinder. Is this it? TomorrowTime (talk) 21:23, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
AH! That was it. Thanks, so much!--Editor510 drop us a line, mate 10:59, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There's MS. Found in a Bottle... Corvus cornixtalk 00:39, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bring the Jubilee by Ward Moore? The final paragraph of the plot section describes the final scene in the book, which reveals its nature as a 'found document'. Astronaut (talk) 13:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, that manuscript was found in "a box of personal effects." No copper cylinder mentioned. 87.81.230.195 (talk) 14:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
