PS3

[edit]

would an american PS3 work in the UK?89.241.167.212 17:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would do what it is designed to do: play America regional games and DVDs using the standard power voltage and frequency of the Americas and outputting the standard video format for the Americas. I believe it has HDTV-out, which, to my knowledge, works on both US and UK HDTV sets. But, you'll need a power adapter and America regional games and DVDs (or find some region lock hack). --Kainaw (talk) 20:42, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it appears[1] that the PS3 uses a universal (110-220v) power supply. Both component and HDMI outputs should also be fine, as most devices which accept these inputs are happy with 50 or 60 Hz framerate. If your TV accepts an NTSC signal (increasingly common on new sets) then that will work too. Your problem (or, the whole point of doing it) would be that you would be able to play American sourced games, DVDs and Blurays, but not British/European ones. -84.69.45.120 01:48, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
one presumes that you would just need to re-wire/plug the PS3, that it would work on the 230v we have (not sure what they use over the pond). MHDIV ɪŋglɪʃnɜː(r)d(Suggestion?|wanna chat?) 23:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
