[edit]Wich media wiki extentions are nessesary for Wikipedia?
[edit]I am trying to set up the whole wikipedia on my own computer. While loading the data in to the database an error came up and i figured out that an extention is needed for mediawiki 1.8 to make it work. (HitCounters) This raises the question: Is this the only nessesary extention additional to a standart mediawiki i need? --2003:76:4E61:CA8A:99D1:3EA5:4B27:3BF4 (talk) 18:34, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
- I haven't tried to install MediaWiki but are you sure you know what you are doing? mw:MediaWiki 1.8 is from 2006–07. Special:Version shows a long list of currently installed extensions at the English Wikipedia. mw:Extension:HitCounters is not among them. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:19, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
- Typo :) Wanted to write 1.28 of course. --2003:76:4E61:CA38:99D1:3EA5:4B27:3BF4 (talk) 19:46, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, Please read MediaWiki's Installation Guide on how to setup the mediawiki software. And do be careful in using outdated software versions since this could lead to exploitation in vulnerability. Regards Stewart Little (talk) 15:50, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
