Tasks
[edit]The table below only shows a prioritised selection. This is just meant to make it easier to decide what to focus on. It does not mean that the other Wikipedia articles are "out of bounds".
# | Task (action) | Details, steps and tips | Suitable for which type of volunteer |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Adding reliable citations to articles | All Wikipedia articles need citations (references to published work) -- every fact and piece of information should have a reliable source. This means that finding and adding citations is an important task. For climate change-related articles, you can start by reading WikiProject Climate Change’s guide to reliable sources. You can find citations for assertions not referenced, or delete unsupported assertions.
Steps:
Tips:
|
Novice editor. If you don't know how to add a citation, check these out.
|
2 | Unflagging Wikipedia articles | "Flagged articles" are Wikipedia articles that are marked and need to be improved to meet Wikipedia's standards. You can learn when to remove a flag from an article here. If you want to know what a "perfect" Wikipedia article should look like, take a look at Wikipedia's featured articles. A featured article is the best quality article on Wikipedia. The Climate change article is a featured article (there is still room for improvement though!). See further examples here: Wikipedia:Featured articles.
Steps: Try to correct the issues identified on the top page of the article. Once done, remove the flag and publish.
Tips:
