Wikipe-tan
  • Introduction of Wikipedia Community User Group Malaysia.
  • Introduction of Wikimedia Foundation projects.
  • Overview of Wikipedia browsing in various languages and switching between them (English (en), Malay (ms), Japanese (jp), Tamil (ta) and Chinese (zh)) and the possibility to use it for learning new languages (by keep practicing to write) and also Wikimedia Incubation (for Iban and Kadazan languages), including to protect endangered languages from being extinct.

  • Introduction of Wikipe-tan and its photo galleries in Wikimedia Commons (everyone loves this the most ~ :P).
  • Donation page for Wikimedia Foundation and its financial report history and allocation.
  • Initial discussion in creating Wikipedia Student Club/Department and its related activities.
  • Overview of various engineering-related topics in Wikipedia.
  • Overview of Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia Facebook group.
  • Creating Wikipedia user name (we faced some difficulties due to the banning of the university IP address by Wikipedia, probably due to previous person using it for a not-so-nice edit in Wikipedia).
  • Basic editing of existing Wikipedia page (coding, save, edit history, referencing, linking, category, sandbox).
  • Overview of Wikimedia Commons and Wikivoyage (different platforms for different purposes).
  • Acceptable and non-acceptable topic/title to have its article written in Wikipedia.
  • Taking Wikipedia into higher level of learning/education (e.g. research, technical paper publication etc).
  • Advantage and benefits of keep contributing to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Foundation projects.
  • Discussion to make the next meetup after final exam in the early coming semester.
