- Delete. The rationale of "Show Cristie Kerr after her first LPGA victory" doesn't meet WP:NFCC#8 as the image does not significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would not be detrimental to that understanding. Having won the LPGA doesn't require an image to better understand it as far as I can ascertain. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 18:31, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

- I could be wrong, but I believe the image is licensed under the Attribution-NoDerivs 2.0 license (see the source). This isn't allowed to be used in Wikipedia, so I'm listed it for deletion. Currently, the image incorrectly lists the license as the GFDL license. I'm a little unsure about how images work though. RaNdOm26 08:28, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

- Used to illustrate "Homer strangling Bart is a recurring joke on the show" and "A reluctant Homer declines to watch the fight; Bart is strangled after trying to return to the fight" in "Homer Simpson" and "Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment" respectively. Does not significantly increase readers' understanding of the topics; not will its omission be detrimental to that understanding. Fails WP:NFCC#8. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 12:38, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - as said countless times before, fair use images do increase understandability of topic; this image does so in exactly the same way all other TV screenshots do. The Evil Spartan 17:13, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- How so? It illustrates text in the articles; but is not necessary (or specifically beneficial) to the understanding of that text. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 19:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep Bart being strangled is iconic in American culture now. -Nard 20:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Wait, what? Are you serious? Regardless, neither article uses the image in a description or explanation of its "iconic"-ness; only to illustrate the given text and articles. If perhaps the Bart Simpson article described how this the image has become iconic in American culture with WP:RS, this image might be apropos; as is, it doesn't/isn't. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 20:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete unless a sourced discussion is added about the "iconic"-ness of Bart being strangled. --Abu badali (talk) 23:34, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Keep as it is an icon. It's iconicity (not "iconic-ness") is well established and, as per WP:V, items well established in general understanding need not be referenced. --lincalinca 03:47, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Are you saying that the image is so very iconic that it doesn't need any WP:RS to establish this? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 04:24, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I would say that, yes. Tarc 13:48, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Are you saying that the image is so very iconic that it doesn't need any WP:RS to establish this? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 04:24, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete: Iconic, perhaps, to fans of The Simpsons and to the show itself, as a broader representation of American culture, I don't think so. This is one show, in a sea of American television programming, while long running, and rated fairly high for a FOX show it is probably not iconic in the sense that it represents something of colossal impact on American culture. I would think for this image to be established as "iconic" you would need a reliable source. In my opinion anyway. IvoShandor 12:18, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- On top of this, that image is hardly what I would call the "iconic" image of Bart being strangled anyway. That's probably the only time that Homer strangles Bart sitting down and with one hand in the entire run of the series, come on now. IvoShandor 12:20, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Delete per IvoShandow, actually. Homer choking Bart is something that I think it is worth identifying visually, but this is a horrible image to illustrate this. EVula // talk // ☯ // 12:48, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

- Keep, this is a widely publicly reproduced historic image. In the AP photo Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar's meets with Saddam Hussein, a dramatic last ditch effort to persuade Iraq to pull out of Kuwait to meet the Security Council deadline looming in just two days. Press photography of the meeting was very restricted by Iraqi authorities. I am not aware of a single additional photograph of the event uploaded online. 172 | Talk 06:13, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

- Keep, this AP photo is actually more notable than the meeting. The photo has been compared to the very famous image of Lenin and Stalin also sitting side by side in a similar pose, as the two relationships have often been compared. Access of photographers to meetings between Saddam and Bakr was rare and highly controlled. I am not aware of another photo of the two appearing together which has been commonly reproduced by other media outlets available. 172 | Talk 06:22, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
