I do not know if I sent my article to be reviewed

I understand that I already sent my first article to be reviewed 12 days ago, but I do not know if that actually happened. I haven´t received news about wikipedia about this.

- Are you referring to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Felipe Browne? If so, you will need to click on the 'Submit your draft...' button for it to be reviewed. Before you do that though, I suggest that you do more work on it. Specifically, you need to provide citations from third-party published reliable sources that Browne meets the relevant Wikipedia notability guidelines - without such evidence the article is sure to be rejected. Need sidebar help please!

- Unless you are trying to create a navigation sidebar, you probably want {{infobox}} rather than {{sidebar}}. Specific infoboxes for particular types of article can be found at Category:Infobox templates. In each case the template page will tell you what parameters it will accept, and with what values and syntax. Before you go to far with trying to create an article on an organisation for which you work, please read the guidance on conflict of interest. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:48, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- One trivial error was that you had forgotten the terminating }} at the end of your use of the template, and I have corrected that for you, but all the advice above remains. Glancing at your draft, even forgetting about the WP:COI concerns, there is much that you need to read, particularly about verifiability by references to published reliable sources independent of the subject of the article. Edit Heading

- One of the refs in the article gives the old name and the remaining two are deadlinks. The Capitol University website does not find results under either name, despite the site being listed in external links as if it were the official site. I doubt that any conscientious editor would be willing to fulfill your request while there are no sources confirming the information. I recommend you concentrate on providing reliable sources for the article first. As it stands, it is in danger of being nominated for deletion as the only source is merely proof of existence. Why do you allow certain brands to have a link to their website for ease of navigation

I recently added a few links to retailers of the exact topics you were talking about, but they were deleted. Why, they were placed below other retailer, and I noted them to be retailers with a link to that appropriate page. Who and why is it decided that my retail links are not worthy of an open source platform, but others are?

Las Vegas Strip

Under the sub-heading Las Vegas Strip you have reported two entertainers who, upon their deaths, had the lights on the Strip dimmed as a show of respect for these two entertainers. They were Dean Martin in 1995, and Frank Sinatra in 1998. However, you neglected to include the FIRST entertainer to have this sign of respect accorded to him. That entertainer was Sammy Davis, Jr., and it was done in 1990. I remember it vividly because I was living here in Vegas at the time and the newspapers reported that this had never been done before. I can't understand how he was omitted from this particular Wikipedia reference, especially since he was the FIRST ONE. Please make the correction of this oversight.

When did we loose citation options?
[edit]Hi... I'm looking through the last few tech newsletters on my talk page, and I can't find when we lost Citations in the editing interface. The option was up above the editing area, with Advanced, Special characters, Help. It was so easy to just fill in the fields and hit submit, and have the template filled for me, not have to search for the template.
Is there any plug-in to add this back into MediaWiki? -- Zanimum (talk) 22:50, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- It's still there for me but in the past I have also experienced losing it temporarily when others had it. What is your browser? Try to clear your entire cache. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:12, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
- Firefox and Chrome on my personal computer, and Chrome at work. (On lunch, for the record.) The most I'm getting, even after clearing my cache, is an icon of a book and bookmark, and "Cite your sources: <ref></ref>" down at the bottom, where there's the specialty characters. -- Zanimum (talk) 21:51, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Aurora NY
[edit]Someone (Greeneyedsallie) is putting false information on the Wikipedia page for Aurora New York. The person is claiming that there is a public walking path along the lake. That is not true. The property is all privately owned except for several village rights of way that go to the lake. We own a portion of the lake front and it is not a walking path. I keep editing the false information. My edits can easily be proved by going to the Cayuga County Real Property page and looking at the tax maps, town maps, village maps. This person is trying to cause trouble.

- I see that the paragraph which Greeneyedsallie has been adding includes a reference for the claim that there is a public right of way along the lake edge. However it is not to a published source, so is not really acceptable on Wikipedia. Are you able to provide a reference to a reliable published source stating that there is there no public right of way?
- I see that you have accepted the invitation to discuss the matter with Greeneyedsallie, on the article's talk page. But while she is presenting the facts, or at least her view of them, you are using insults and name-calling. I predict that this will not turn out well for you. Help
[edit]Hi I didn't know Wikipedia was so hard to use. There's no simple explanation for anything ... everything is like writing programming code. I have errors coming back to me about references etc. ... no idea why ... the online chat is also impossible to use .... I clicked on it and some kind of code comes back in text but there is no space for me to respond. Can someone help? I could not agree more with this comment. Trying to find an answer on an editing point is like wading through treacle and hunt the thimble combined. Tracking down the answer usually entails going through pages and pages of information, linked to other pages going off in all directions, before you reach the answer, and even when you do, the answer is usually far from clear. - That was 11 days ago. The problem was quickly fixed by another editor. The page is not an article and doesn't use the
<ref>...</ref>

Citing Sources

If I have already created a reference for one source, and want to use it again, is there any way that I can add it in there without it becoming a different number? - Hi, there sure is. You would put say, <ref name ="Any name">the reference</ref> then subsequent times, you would put just <ref name ="Any name"/> note the / at the end subsequent times. CTF83! 23:50, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
