@KAVEBEAR: Wow, those are high res scans... It'll take a while, and with images that high a resolution, it won't look as good (the lower res smooths out some of the evidence of painting). Remove white background to show the transparency pattern

When convert it in Photoshop, I already make it to transparency, but then when I upload to Commons, it become white background. The transparency pattern shoud be show as default so we can put the image on the custom color background, like gray as infobox.
