Wikipedia Collaboration at the University of Alberta
[edit]The University of Alberta Library is one of the largest academic libraries in Canada, with 10 branches and divisions at three University of Alberta campuses: main campus, Campus St. Jean, and Augustana. As teaching and learning evolve in our digital world, the Library is helping to support and drive these changes. Engaging our community in Wikipedia work is one way we do this.
UAL hosts many vibrant and important collections that are an excellent resource for improving Wikipedia. Many of the UAL collections are digitized or in the process of being digitized through an on-campus scanning project in partnership with the Internet Archive.
UAL Wikipedia Project Goals
[edit]- Engage University of Alberta community in education and dialogue about Wikipedia
- Offer practical training on editing Wikipedia, Wikicommons, Wikidata, etc.
- Utilize UAL collections to improve Wikipedia
- Engage campus researchers and students in improving Wikipedia in their areas of expertise
Recent Activities
[edit]UAL works with the campus community on a range of education and editing projects. Some of our recent work:

- Art + Feminism edit-a-thon, March 5, 2020 in partnership with MacEwan University
