Are you going to have commentry on each of these images? We could have one image as fair use, but several is too many unless each is covered in the text and value is added to understanding of the topic. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:10, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just declined the other 6, as I do not see the article as being able to support that many copyrighted images. We can upload one or two, but not seven. Also, do you represent the artist? If so, you might be able to have her release the images under free use, in which case, we could use all of them. Sven ManguardWha?02:26, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License: fair use rationale. Main infobox. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as cover art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the artist's providing graphic design services to music concerns and in turn marketing music to the public.

You have made a draft of your article on your talk page at User talk:KingMacMillion. Normally this could go at User:KingMacMillion/SNO. There is already an article at SNO so you will need another name if you move it. Also it is not clear if there is a free license or not. Since this appears to be your image, you are very welcome to grant the CC-BY-SA-3.0 license by stating that on the page hosting the image. For fair use we could use album art on an article about the album Year Round, but you are writing an article about the group. To prove this is public domain we need to know the name of the photographer and when they died. Or else you will need to tell us more about public domain in New Zealand. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:08, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The photograph was taken between 1956 and 1958. Because it was published before January 1, 1960, it's in the public domain. It's also applicable for the Wikimedia Commons because it entered public domain in the United States prior to 1996. The licencing for this image, for example, gives a good summary of NZ copyright law. Under clause A: "For photographs, manuscripts, archives, music scores, maps, paintings, and drawings published anonymously, under a pseudonym or the creator is unknown" copyright expires if the "photo taken or work published prior to
January 1, 1960". 72.74.210.99 (talk) 13:21, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you somehow prove that the image was taken before 1960? The source page provides no such indication, nor does it state that the image was taken in New Zealand. Robert Skyhawk(TCB)00:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hrstich spent two years as a pro in New Zealand before he left the country in 1958 to compete in the United States. The photo was taken while he was competing as "Dick Hrstich", a name he only used in NZ, with his North American ringname "Ray Gordon" in brackets. In addition, Fight Times Magazine is a New Zealand publication and the columnist Dave Cameron is a New Zealand wrestling historian. 72.74.218.201 (talk) 09:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License: fair use (non-free logo): The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image. The logo is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution. The image is used to identify the following notable public facility: Covenant Theological Seminary (St. Louis, MO). The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify a facility (such as a road, airport, station, city, neighborhood, or the like), and assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the facility. Because it is a logo there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary. Use of the logo in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as described above.
