Reason: Mission San Juan Capistrano was one of the most ambitious of the Spanish colonial missions in California, and also underwent repeated damage and rebuilding. This is a high resolution photochrom print of the courtyard as it appeared in 1899 after two earthquakes and nearly 7 decades of neglect. Information This article has probably been one of the top 0.2% (my estimate) most detailed and best written WP articles for about three years now. Mdhennessey was the last editor to contribute substantial amounts of quality material to the article, between 17 January 2007 and 20 March 2008, and left WP on 21 March 2008, citing lack of respect for scholarly research as the reason. User:Lordkinbote had done significant work on the article between 3 April 2005 and 19 November 2006, and left under the same complaint on 27 November 2006, linking to the account of one-time admin User:RickK, who appears to have been an admin at one time, and who left with the same complaint on Jun 21, 2005. There's even a song about it. anyway, you really can't win with these kinds of things - if it's historic, they want more modern, but look up a bit at the Anne Frank house one, where they think it's too recent.
