Description: I often want to make large-scale deletions to my talk page (delete the weekly Signpost, etc.) without logging in, because I'm on a forced wikibreak using Wikibreak enforcer. But every time I attempt to do so, this filter bars the edit from being made.

I realize this isn't exactly a "false positive", since the whole purpose of this filter is to prevent edits like this, which are almost always vandalism. But it would be nice if there were a way to "opt-out" my talk page from this filter. Since I've never ever been the subject of vandalism, I would be willing to take that risk into my own hands ...

Yeah, sorry, it would be theoretically possible to have an exemptions list, but it would run on every edit, and if even just a few people wanted to be added it would slow down the whole edit filter process. I'm honestly not familiar with the practice of creating a page with just a single tag and no content. It doesn't seem very helpful to the readers to tease them like that. But, if that's what we're doing now, I can add {{delrev}} to the exemption list, which currently contains only a few speedy deletion templates. Oh.. I wasn't aware that Filter 364 was actually "Changing the name in a BLP infobox", which is exactly what the IP editor did. But the output of the tag as seen in Recent Changes (and the article revision history) was "possible BLP issue or vandalism", and it wasn't vandalism nor a BLP issue, so that's why I reported it as a false positive. No, because some filters' descriptions are too detailed. Template:LGBT symbols

The filter prevented a move from 'Template:LGBT symbols' to 'Template:LGBTQ symbols' here is my reasoning for moving the template: The reason is because the 'Q' or Genderqueer has in the past decade created symbols to represent themselves. can someone fix this problem please. This is a filter that sometimes appears when someone creates a page about a movie or movie studio or anything really to do with film. As far as I know, it only appears on "our" screen, because a lot of the time the new page creation is legitimate. Although you will still see it if you look at your "recent contributions" page. However, it was not the reason for the deletion of your page and there is nothing really I can do except suggest that the company might not be notable, and that if you're convinced that it is, read the guides on your talk page and make sure if you re-create the article that you show us plenty of examples of other people talking about your studio and not just links to Twitter, etc. —Soap— 12:09, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

It also looks like you removed a lot of other unrelated things which are not defective. In this case, the page had simply moved to a new URL, anyway, not been deleted. Oddly, "penis" is on the stopword list, but "dick" isn't, perhaps because it's not case sensitive and therefore the name Dick and other legitimate uses of it would cause problems. Also, I was cleaning up the "dropping the f-bomb" bit -- and quoting the word she actually said, which was "fucking". People not familiar with English idiom, at least, are not well served by the euphemism - nor are people in general. I left in the "f-bomb" link and stuck it in parentheses, as I think it's fine to have it there, mainly because the major media meme post-show has been using that expression.

Description: This is really annoying; attempting to just remove that section (or part of it), without trying to add a ref/link like before, still gives a "Some material on Wikipedia should be removed, for example vandalism and false or libelous information. If this is what you're doing, and you believe your removal is correct, please go to the bottom of this page and press 'Save page' to continue", where trying to save the page just goes back to the same dialog. This seems like a bug to me.

Sorry for this problem; all I can really say is that it doesn't seem to happen very often, as I've never seen a report like this before. Perhaps there has been a recent change in the captcha system, but that isn't controlled by the editors the way the edit filter is. Only the first report (where I was trying to remove the section and add a link in the same edit) involved captchas. This report is that it was plain impossible to remove a block of text if the filter triggered. I found a way to prevent the filter from triggering but I think there is still a bug in the filter mechanism. I do have some unusual browser settings that could conceivably be interfering with the reconfirmation scheme so I might try reproducing the problem from another browser. 75.57.242.120 (talk) 19:33, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
