Before saying this is fine project-wide, want to ensure there have been recent posts for community input. The C:MBAS group above is a good place to trial, as it was specifically requested. @Xaosflux: Category:Main Belt asteroid stubs only had 461 redirects with stub templates, which the bot fixed in these 461 edits. Would you like me to finish the trial in other categories, or are these edits sufficient? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 00:01, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How do you plan to tackle "All" redirects with stub templates? Are you going to crawl every single stub on the project? Do you have any estimates of the number of edits this will entail? — xaosflux ^Talk 00:16, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Xaosflux: I searched the March 4 database dump for mainspace pages containing #REDIRECT\s*\[\[.+\]\].+{{[\w\d-]+stubs?}} (ignoring comments). The bot will skip articles that don't currently contain #REDIRECT\s*\[\[ and skip articles that aren't redirects (i.e. those that have .+\n#REDIRECT). @Jay8g: I filed this AWB bug to report the issue. The simplest solution for this bot is to turn of AWB's general fixes until the bug is fixed.

@Xaosflux: Wikipedia:Redirect and Help:Redirect don't specifically say that you MUST remove all other article content from pages after they become redirects. However, it would seem reasonable to me to remove {{notability}} and other maintenance templates. GoingBatty (talk) 02:58, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jay8g and Xaosflux: Since the AWB developers didn't fix the bug, I won't run general fixes with this bot task. However, I would like to remove other maintenance templates while doing this tasks, as it will help with some of the backlogs. I have updated the function overview & details above.
