Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): AutoWikiBrowser
Source code available: AWB
Function overview: Fix incorrect piped wikilinks
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Wikipedia:Bot requests/Archive 63#Add a feature to a maintenance bot
Edit period(s): Monthly
Estimated number of pages affected: Hundreds in first run, less going forward
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No):
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): Yes
Function details: The pipe trick doesn't work in some places (such as within <ref>
and <gallery>
tags), which leaves code such as Subject (disambiguator)
visible to the readers. This bot would change these to Subject
so the intended wikilinks will be displayed properly. (e.g. this edit) As usual, AWB's general fixes will also be done with every edit. GoingBatty (talk) 01:21, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. -- Magioladitis (talk) 07:32, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
- @Magioladitis: Trial complete. without issues - please see these diffs. However, I will change the edit summary so it says "Fixed piped link(s)" instead of showing the exact replacement, since the edit summaries look like they were changed from
Subject (disambiguator)
toSubject
unless you hover over them. GoingBatty (talk) 17:56, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
