Have you read the AMA FAQ?

  • Answer: Yes

How would you describe the nature of this dispute? (policy violation, content dispute, personal attack, other)

  • Answer: Abuse of Admin powers. Breach of WP:AGF

What methods of Dispute Resolution have you tried so far? If you can, please provide wikilinks so that the Advocate looking over this case can see what you have done.

  • Answer: Tried to talk with the guy User_talk:MrDarcy#Assorted_warnings. and left comments on my own discussion page. No reply that was addresssed to me, just comments addressed to third parties.

What do you expect to get from Advocacy?

  • Answer: As this admin seems unwilling to speak to me directly I ask the Advocate to do so on my behalf. The aim is to have an unfair tempolate removed from my old IP Address user page; to have the Admin in question abide by WP:AGF; to elicit an apology from the admin for mistreatment.

PLEASE DO NOT ACTION MY REQUEST: I can't see how to delete this request, so I will simply modify it. I have decided simply to cease contributing here - it's way too much hassle, with Admins with 7 days experience hurling their weight around and their chums egging them on. Who needs this crap? Not I. So thanks, but please feel free to delete this one! All the best, Chris 81.159.212.153 23:55, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Admin in question, Mr Darcy, became involved in a minor dispute on the civil partnerships article. The dispute has since been resolved and the other parties and I are now working together very harmoniously. The resolution was reached without the aid of Mr Darcy.

Because my position in the dispute agreed with that of a friend and near neighbour, Joel on the SOL, I was accused of sockpuppetry by Mr Darcy. I protested. Mr Darcy's reply is still on my IP Address Talk page - in essence, if I am not a sockpupppet (though he suspects I am) then I am a meatpuppet (ugh! how I hate that term!) and so have to stay tagged as such.

As my old IP Address contribs show I was editing w-a-y before this dispute arose - I cannot therefore be a meatpuppet created to support a dispute that occured long after I began working here! Unless I am psychic!

At the suggestion of an editor (one of the parties in the orginal dispute, as it happens) I created the slightly sarcy user name NoStringsAttached. As you will see on my new talk page one editors has commented:

"I think people tend to be a little suspicious of people without user names. I guess the logic is along the lines of all dogs have 4 legs, my cat has 4 legs, therefore my cat is a dog or in this case IPs cause trouble on Wikipedia, this user is signing by IP only, therefore this user is trouble."

This is clearly Mr Darcy's view.

In summary:

  • 1 - Mr Darcy assumed I was a sockpuppet because I supported the opinion of a fellow editor and neighbour.
  • 2 - When he couldn't prove this (for the somewhat obvious reason that Joel on the SOL and I are not one!) he then effectively said "well, they know each other therefore he's a meatpuppet. Meat, sock, it's all the same."
  • 3 - The reply in (2) above was delivered in the third person with no discussion, despite my commenting on Mr Darcy's talk page.
  • 4 - At this time, the sockpuppet template remains, unjustly, on my IP address user page.
  • 5 - I am wholly innocent of the claims made by Mr Darcy. I seek to have them retracted, to have the template removed and I believe Mr Darcy owes me an apology for his manner and poor actioning.
  • 6 - I also believe Mr Darcy should have his sysops permissions withdrawn until such time as he learns the WP:AGF by heart!

Thank you for your assitance. I hope the above is reasonably clear, if not do please ask.
