The struggle for STREAMING CONTENT is NOT a new one, and many players have had instrumental roles in progressing the business of STREAMING. Barbwires is one of them, it is my owned company and passion for 17 years and hold a significant place in the history of streaming - it's story will be told here. Zzeonblue is building the content for this vast project culmination and it takes time to acquire and place correct reference and proper timeline. I would appreciate any help from other authors/contributors/admins/soldiers and saints.

[edit]Hello, My name is Edward and I go by eddie or Ed. I have been in the business of communication from the 70s. Started out in Radio and TV and did some work for a local Cable Access station for a bit. I have always been a musician, and played in too many bands to name and almost all lacked any notability.
At one point in my career, I came understand the incredible challenge facing musicians, especially prior to the birth of the web and internet. I was lucky and worked hard enough to come into a position of working directly with individuals in the successful music industry, and gained much insight.
It was at that point I decided I wanted to do something for the bands working everywhere around the world, and best place to start was in my hometown. I spun off a web site in 2000 to put videos of local bands on a web site - it cost them nothing. They could add their performances to their own web pages as they were easily referenced using a tutorial page on the site.
This gave bands the ability to show promoters, venues, festivals, and others who might be interested in hiring them to see an actual performance.
Since that time, I have and do still put non-label bands on a site, which is now a radio station and streaming provider, but I also now partner with several labels to include new and emerging talent, merging their music into a net radio stream available on any platform, and feed their performer names as well as the titles playing into a twitter stream at barbwires.com on the feed site @barbwiresradio.
That's the story, in the 40 years of professional involvement in data processing (I did my time at IBM in a Marketing role), I have seen and witnessed immense progress. These are enlightening times. Illuminate yours!

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:KGirlTrucker81, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 17:41, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
Your user talk page, sure I understand, and you are right - it was an attempt to clarify, and even if permission allows, it is not proper etiquette, and thanks for educating. ; >

As guidelines call for "deletion should be the last resort"
Sharing knowledge, perhaps taken a lifetime to accumulate, surpasses G2 test, when what it takes is more than a few minutes to construct useful content, for that your patience is politely requested. A major revolution is occurring in the music industry as models are changing rapidly and "physical MEDIA" such as a CD or "record" are replaced by a concept based in the birth of Network for public use in the 90s. To be part of that change is meaningful and a desire to contribute to better understanding of struggles is what history is about. [edit]Do not sign your comments as another editor, as you did with this edit at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barbwires. Such behavior is disruptive and appears to be vandalism. Further such behavior will lead to you being blocked or banned from editing. —swpbT 13:45, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
an explanation was placed on the page of reference and it was a harmless mistake and my misunderstanding of the formality and extent of how the footprinting works here. It has been 4 years since I penned some work here and I am reading reference articles and help files to brng myself up to speed to understand how to do things correctly. This MESSAGE is a RESPONSE to what user SWPB has stated as a concern. I responded once already to K Girl Trucker about the mistake and it will not happen again - INCLUDING removal of comments placed. That was also a mistake due to misunderstanding and now I understand and comprehend the notion of A USER TALK PAGE, belonging to that USER. Thank you for bringing my attention to the issues I caused, and helping me to understand the mistakes. ZzeonBlue (talk) 04:12, 16 March 2017 (UTC)ZzeonBlue

[edit]Believe me, if you have happened to wander into this no man's land it is far easier to create a new article in sandbox then to upset a whole bunch of people doing their job while building links and references for a new article - Wikipedia is a truly great place. <3 ZzeonBlue (talk) 06:41, 16 March 2017 (UTC)ZzeonBlue
- Hi ZzeonBlue. I'm writing here because i want to be sure you see this message, and though you left a note on my talk page, sometimes newer editors struggle to find their way around/back to where they've been previously ~ i know i did when i began some ten years ago!
- So, it looks as though you are having a frustrating time at the moment, as it seems possible that the article you started and have written the majority of, Barbwires, may be deleted. I thought i'd come along and, if you don't mind, give you a little advice, sort of as an older hand, helping out. If this annoys or offends you ~ after all, i am the one who initiated the deletion process ~ then just stop reading now, and pretend i was never here; my goal, however, is to help, to encourage, and to aid you to become a great editor, one who can contribute in ways that don't appear to be unwanted.
- I would suggest that the issue with Barbwires is twofold, both sides linked, though you may not see them that way.
- There does not ~ did not when i first came to it ~ seem to be sufficient external sources, that is what we call reliable sources unconnected with the subject, to sustain the article. Now, it seems that you're saying that there are other sources, in the deletion discussion you implied as much; if there are, then let's use them, find what they say and put it in the article.
- I'm not certain of your relationship to Barbwires, you seem to say that you are the founder/owner, but you also seem to have a different name; maybe i have the wrong end of the stick completely, however, being close to the subject does not make for good, independent writing, as i'm sure you can understand. So much so, that we have an entire guideline about our desire to have people close to the subject not actively writing the articles.
- Overall, i think you might benefit from stepping back, a little; if you have sources or ideas, use the talk page to suggest them, and see what happens. If the subject truly is notable, someone will notice and help improve the article ~ i may even myself,you never know! Meantime, whatever happens, if you need help, please ask; and please, please don't lose heart: Wikipedia can be a tough place to begin with, but it repays your investment easily. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, ZzeonBlue. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Barbwires, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Widefox; talk 10:45, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Barbwires. Wikipedia is not a trade directory. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. Widefox; talk 10:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Barbwires
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Barbwires, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Escalation
[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barbwires. I might have believed it was a mistake the first time, but not the second time, when you removed my comments, including my vote to delete your pet article, and reinserted a FALSE signature. Get this through your head: it is NEVER, EVER ok to change or remove what other people write, and it is NEVER ok to leave a message you wrote with someone else's signature attached to it. You understand that we can all see your edits, right? —swpbT 13:05, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
It was a mistake and misunderstanding, I appreciate your taking time to explain specifics to me, and I do not appreciate being called thick headed. I am a kind human being, and do make mistakes. I very much appreciate Widefox's very useful and clear, concise, and helpful disclosure of information which applies directly to this situation. I also appreciate KGirlTrucker81'a explanation of user talk pages and the way it was addressed with helpful direction which I know must be frustrating due to the volume of work each of you takes on in supporting this Wikipedia. The way in which Lindsay explained the lack of GNG, was helpful and very clear as well. The last thing about this I will say, Widefox very tactfully defined ways in which authoring articles for Wikipedia should be made and the importance of disclosure.
ZzeonBlue (talk) 13:29, 17 March 2017 (UTC)ZzeonBlue a child of God.
- Sorry that this must have been confusing, but disclosing per COI is a prerequisite, but you have still not done WP:DISCLOSE. Sadly, we see much promo activity here that my replies above are canned responses, and the bottom line is I agree 100% with user:swpb: your account is an WP:SPA that is WP:COI business WP:PROMO-only. That's enough to be blocked, let alone interfering with the process of consensus - either as mistake, WP:DISRUPT or subversion of consensus. Up until now, you are clearly WP:NOTHERE, I agree your account should be blocked, as you are showing no sign of being here to build an encyclopedia or do things the way we all have to here. Widefox; talk 09:15, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
I Express my appreciation for the help I have received here, and information regarding disclosure which must be completed prior to expending all your work and effort to keep Wikipedia, well groomed and accurate. I have backed off entirely. A great deal of effort is being expended on building my business, and before ever attempting to contribute (properly) here, a significant amount of reading and understanding must be completed. We at barbwires will continue to forward the unknown and unrecognized women and men in music by giving them voice and broadcasting worldwide as we have for over a decade. There is procedure to be followed and then there is outright oppression through force which those in power use to limit others, and I hope your good sense prevails. Good day ZzeonBlue (talk) 14:33, 21 March 2017 (UTC)ZzeonBlue
