Hello ZhongHan/Archive 1 and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. If you truly love Wikipedia, you'll figure it all out soon enough. That said, if you still have a burning desire to grok this project
Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. You can write new articles, add to existing ones, or edit any and all pages that appear. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles, but they may not interest you. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy more, but Wikipedia is the most popular by far.
There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildas like this: ~~~~ If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! Draeco 08:30, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

I have taken the risk and unblocked the IP, so you could work, but the IP seems to be a source of bad vandalism recently. Thus, do not be surprized if you would find the IP blocked in the future. Is it possible for you to work from another IP? abakharev 21:22, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, it is a School IP and thus it is not possible for me to work from another IP. ZhongHan 06:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I see, well nothing can be done about it then. Send me an e-mail if the IP will be blocked for more than 24h abakharev 07:04, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Block on 165.21.155.17 converted to anon-only. You should be able to edit without any problems. Sorry for the trouble.

I've just added 165.21.0.0/16 to the MediaWiki:Autoblock whitelist. Hopefully, this doesn't mean an increase in vandalism originating from Singapore. -- Netsnipe ► 13:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the invitation to the next "meetup". Unfortunately, I'm studying in the UK at the moment and won't be in Singapore in November 2007. Cheers, Jacklee 17:13, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
1. As I stated it's MOD19 for CAR plates - not motorbikes (or trucks etc) - I'm not sure what the checksum is for those but it will be something to do with letters that are omitted (i.e. it Motorbikes use F for example maybe it's mod20).
2. In the example for the car my formula is correct IF you start counting the alphabet at 0 (for A). Remember MOD can return 0 - (which is A for the checksum).
A = 0
B = 1
C = 2
D = 3
E = 4
F
G =5
H = 6
I
J = 7
K = 8
L = 9
M = 10
N = 11
O
P = 12
Q
R = 13
S = 14
T = 15
U = 16
VW
X = 17 (<- your examples fits here)
Y = 18
Z = 19
