We can not keep indiscriminate lists of all the prisoners of all the camps ever kept by anyone. No, removing trivial information is not comparable to "denying the holocaust". Not all of these prisoners are notable. Also, if the article is about POWs, it should not discuss political prisoners. Also, the article is very POV and needs cleanup. -Indy beetle (talk) 21:22, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, its not indiscriminate list of all prisoners from all camps. They were specifically from Asinara and not political prisoners of your understanding. They were prisoners of war. And yes, they were notables. Many of them were related to eachother and I am a grandson of a couple imprisoned there and some were my great uncles and aunts. The list was kept by a prisoner who there and a close family friend. This article used his book as reference. It has no political agenda but rather used as a historical reference from which many have discovered their relatives whereabouts during that time.

Do you have the publication info for that book? All I can find when I google its name is a reference in another work that suggests it was published in 1950. -Indy beetle (talk) 01:05, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The book was published in Ethiopia and doesn't have ISBN. If needed, I can take a picture of the cover and the related pages. To explain how I tried to publish the article per Wikipedia's standards, I have not included the names of other famous prisoner like Leul Ras Imru who was the Emperor's cousin and my mother's second cousib in the list. I mentioned his name to specify were he was incarcerated. Another famous prisoner who is still alive is the diplomat Imru Zelleke whose daughter is the Emperor's granddaughter in law. I mentioned his name but wasn't included in the list. Majority of the prisoners' names on the list have their honorific titles before their name. The first in the list being HRH Princess Romanewerk, the Emperor's daughter. Those without the titles were family members of the notables. Lij, Ras, Dejazmatch, Fitawrari etc....are all imperial court titles. Woizero, though common now, it was honorific title of women. Another highest title after princess being Emebethoy. I sincerely apologize if my comment that likened your edit to disputing the holocaust. Some of the men were simply executed after they were taken back to their home country. My grandfather was on the list marked for execution and was spared because the wife of one of the highest ranking generals was his classmate in France in the 1910s. Having to explain their status as prisoners of war after they were all known as such touched some nerves. Again, my sincere apologies. People like you makes Wikipedia more and more reliable. On another note, I will be adding pictures of some group of the prisoners at Asinara. A rare item. Thank you

Information icon Hello, I'm Thegooduser. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Kebede Michael—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. I am more familiar to the names of places and events surrounding Dr Kebede Mikael. My family founded the birthplace of Dr Kebede Mikael and he himself was my uncle. For example, the name Gerb Gabriel in the article is very wrong. Its Gerim Gabriel and all the surrounding area was the fiefdom of my ancestors. The upbringing of Kebede Mikael written in the article is severely flawed. My contribution to this article can correct many mistakes and will make it a reliable reference to those who are interested in his story. Thank you

I am doing edits on pages related to members of the Ethiopian aristocracy from the Solomonic dynasty. My last name suggested my ties to the dynasty and my privacy is getting violated. Some people who created pages about certain personalities and events made a lot of mistakes and I have decided to correct their errors but choose to do it anonymously. Some personalities on the pages were/are either very close family members or very known to my family. Thank you BKSeifu (talk) 11:49, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Swatjester. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Elias Kifle, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Horn of Africa (defined as including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and adjoining areas if involved in related disputes), a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
