about BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

But when I looked closer I found that most or all of them took it from Wikipedia instead of we taking it from them. Even if it wasn't stolen I would still have to deleted it since it's full of bias and trivia. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger characters

Hey, I'm the guy who keeps putting the notability tag on your articles. The reason is that as they stand right now, the characters aren't notable enough to warrent their own articles. The notability guideline states that references have to be "independent from the subject"... which means to get information about characters, they need to come from sources like IGN, or GameSpot. A list of sources can be found at WP:VG/RS -- you can't use fansites or anything like that.

The problem with the character articles are that they're for characters that have only been in two games -- granted, the console one has received great reviews, but that doesn't mean that each character needs its own article. Only when characters have gotten reception on their own can they have their own article... for example, Mario has a lot of coverage. Some video game characters that are even the title characters of their own franchises don't have their own articles -- take for instance Banjo (Banjo-Kazooie) -- it re-directs to the series article.

I have nominated Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, Noel Vermillion, and Arakune, all articles that you created, for deletion. Hey, it's nothing personal -- when I first started out on Wikipedia, a lot of my articles were deleted too. The problem is, the notability guideline states that sources for an article must be "independent of the subject" and the official website isn't independent. It's the only source for most of these character articles that are better expanded on the main game's page -- either way, if you still disagree with me (and possibly hate me, sorry about that), you can feel free to join the discussion yourself and defend your articles. -- Nomader ^(Talk) 17:04, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

But you see -- that's the problem. The characters on their own aren't notable enough for their own article. Even in world-famous games which are totally based on story like Final Fantasy X, the characters don't have their own seperate articles.

What's needed more than the characters for the Blazblue article is that it needs to conform to other video game articles. A good base line would be to have...

• A gameplay section: what kind of game is it? How does it play? Talk about what special powers are and what they do in general. Write this like you were trying to explain the game to your mother -- infer that the reader has no idea what you're talking about.
• A plot section: -- this is what you seem to enjoy writing the most -- Talk about the story of the game. Don't talk about their special overdrives A developmenreception section: what did critics like IGN and GameSpot think of the game?
• A development section: Talk about how the game was developed. Say when it first started development, and talk about what different reliable websites (again like IGN, GameSpot and GameSpy) thought about them in previews.
• A reception section: Look up the reviews for the games and see what people thought about it. Did they like the sound design? The story? The gameplay? What were their criticisms?

Notice that characters aren't even mentioned in what I noted above -- they should be worked into the plot section in normal writing. Again, see Final Fantasy X for a good example of this.
