About me
[edit]I am a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, where I independently research disinformation and targeted hate, specifically towards religious minorities. I also serve as Director of the Concordia Forum, a global network of leaders of Muslim backgrounds that coordinates policy, strategic, and cultural events around the world. I speak about these issues regularly at conferences and online (many are available on YouTube and elsewhere).
I am a longtime admirer of, and advocate for, an independent and transparent Wikipedia that has been invaluable in providing a knowledge framework database for a global audience. I have recently acknowledged improving the Wikipedia entry for the Institute for Strategic Dialogue as it was scheduled for deletion, although I only intend to do this within the guidelines that Wikipedia has set out. zahed (talk) 15:03, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Zahed. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:44, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback. This is the first time I've created a Wikipedia post for consideration. I will disclose my conflict of interest, although I'm not receiving any compensation for these edits. I appreciate your patience... I want to contribute responsibly. zahed (talk) 18:02, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
