Differentiation under the integral sign

[edit]

I know this is a bit late, but I must say that your large edit to differentiation under the integral sign was absolutely fantastic. I had only previous used the technique for generating solutions for integrals closely related to ones I had solved, but your addition of examples is fantastic! I will be looking over the examples you gave and will be trying to pin down the technique for computing difficult integrals, as I love tricky integrals and their solutions. Anyway, just writing a quick thanks. Thank you! Dchristle (talk) 20:18, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am glad that you appreciate my contributions to the article. Hopefully, the examples added give some clarity to the application of the method. Thanks should also go to others who have worked on the article (including you). I appreciate the edits you make. I like your article on the Lambda point refrigerator. Edit summaries

[edit]

I am impressed. I don't think I have ever seen an editor consistently use such complete and informative edit summaries -- and all full sentences! Thank you! -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 02:59, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The early edit summaries I had did not have full sentences. I now try to use full sentences where I can. I am happy that you are happy about this. I appreciate edits you make. ZICO (talk) 20:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Longford Town

[edit]

Zico, as a fellow happy snapper may I say that you have really captured the look and feel of Longford in those photos. I especially like this picture (right). It captures the unique Longford aesthetic sense and architectural excellence. It is difficult to understand why this town has such difficulty attracting inward investment. Zico, really! (Sarah777 07:15, 28 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]
I might have a sense of humour when I make edits, but I do generally try to be accurate. I am happy that you appreciate the photographs. I appreciate edits you make. ZICO (talk) 20:56, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article 12988816 (number), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Alien vs. Predator

[edit]

I'm just curious how special features on the 1979 movie relate to AVP? Who says it was "heavily influenced" by this book? M3tal H3ad (talk) 02:29, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a written piece on the special features disc included in the Alien: Definitive Edition by Dan O'Bannon titled "Something Perfectly Disgusting". In this piece, O'Bannon makes reference to the H. P. Lovecraft origins of the Alien story. Indeed, he goes so far as to state that the alien is a "blood relative" of Yog-Sothoth. O'Bannon is partially credited with writing the story of Alien vs. Predator and correspondences between Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness and AVP are readily apparent. For examples, the ancient alien structures located in the Antarctic region are a common feature, as are the hieroglyphic murals there. The biomechanical nature of the alien corresponds to the bioengineered nature of the shoggoth from At the Mountains of Madness.
By the way, your work on Wikipedia is great! ZICO (talk) 16:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I definenetly remember reading something about O'Bannon's credit, thanks for the reply. M3tal H3ad (talk) 04:11, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:ClockworkCage1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ClockworkCage1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:02, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:HousesL.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of LGBT characters in animated feature films. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – List of LGBT characters in animation. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at List of LGBT characters in animation – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Brainy J ~~ (talk) 18:37, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fuzzy low-quality image, there are better images of Elektronika MK-52s already on the article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Information icon Hi ZICO! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Alcoholism that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. A note that there is a talk page discussion about whether AA is effective

[edit]

There is a talk page discussion about how recent meta-studies show evidence that Alcoholics Anonymous is effective. The current talk page consensus is that the Cochrane 2020 report on Alcoholics Anonymous show AA efficacy (not Cochrane 2006). Here is the relevant discussion: Talk:Alcoholism#Alcoholics_Anonymous_is_effective I encourage your contribution to this discussion, and ask to please not add claims that AA is ineffective without getting consensus to do so first. Hi there. I did not add a claim that Alcoholics Anonymous is ineffective. I wrote that its effectiveness is disputed (which it is) and provided references for this. Please restore my changes. ZICO (talk) 22:58, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
