User talk:Yueer
I would object to deleting this page because Sneck is actually very significant to Chinese politics. She was a personal friend of Mao Zedong and one of the most prominent American Marxists to have moved to China to help liberate the country from the Nationalists. I interviewed her in person twice in Beijing just before she died. Her daughter Carma is also a very prominent filmmaker specializing in China. Sneck's story is little-known, even in China, but the role she played in the People's Republic is significant. Unfortunately, little secondary literature exists on her yet. The English page is largely a translation of the German Wikipedia site. Yueer (talk) 03:27, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Bertha Sneck
[edit]The article Bertha Sneck has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- "the 1st source wouldn't open for me, the second barely mentions her, and the third is a self-published remembrance from a Chinese person who met her and tells the story." White whirlwind. Agreed. Not notable. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 08:32, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - It does look a bit better, though I recommend adding a couple more references before moving the page back to mainspace. CycloneYoris talk! 21:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Ľudovít Didi (March 15)
[edit]- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Ľudovít Didi and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.

- Dear Guessitsavis,
- Thank you for your review. This English-language draft is essentially a translation of the original Slovak-language Wikipedia page at https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%BDudov%C3%ADt_Didi . If Wikipedia is to be consistent in its standards across all languages, it should also delete the Slovak page. I have nevertheless added an additional scholarly cite and should note that the Knižná revue is a publication by the Literature Information Center, a part of the Slovak Republic government's Ministry of Culture. Both the Knižná revue cite and the new one I added are reliable and are not published by the author himself, who is now dead. Didi was probably one of the two or three most important Romany authors ever to have written in Slovak, and he was posthumously recognized by the President of the Slovak Republic.
- Many thanks,
- Yueer Yueer (talk) 00:20, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Non-attributed translations
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from sk:Ľudovít_Didi to Ľudovít Didi. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:27, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
