AfD nomination of Shinigami (Bleach)
Shinigami (Bleach), an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Shinigami (Bleach) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shinigami (Bleach) (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Shinigami (Bleach) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Collectonian 04:50, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay, now what the heck happened?
Jushiro, Kaien, and Yumechika and Soifon was all merged into the Shinigami article. I found NO final decision, so the merge was done WITHOUT everyone coming to an agreement. Technically, I'm annoyed at this. I believe Soifon and Jushiro should actually stay as articles, since they've actually done something and they are quite popular characters. What are your thoughts on this? RedEyesMetal 11:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Delahunt
I haven't dug to the bottom of it, but Brewcrewer appears to be on a mission, maybe all by himself. You might ask him what it's all about. Delahunt, by the way, is not a disambiguation page, as you claimed in the edit summary. Per WP:MOSDAB, "Pages only listing persons with certain given names or surnames who are not widely known by these parts of their name otherwise are not disambiguation pages". Delahunt is a surname article. The term "disambiguation" within WP has a narrower scope than simply allowing a reader to choose an interesting article from a list. A page listing people named "Steve Adams" is a dab page, but a page listing people with the given name "Steve" or the surname "Adams" is not. Happy editing! Arad
Hello, Ynhockey - I saw that you removed the section on Arad referring to the move of Bedouins to Arad - just as a piece of info (I did some research on JP when I saw your editting) - the writer didn't correctly quote thenewspaper article in the Jerusalem Post, August 29, 2005, written by Byline: Margot Dudkevitch. entitled 'Dahaniya Beduin families move to Tel Arad' - you. the contributor read Arad instead of Tel Arad - fact from JP. Yoruichi
I read the discussion and I notice that what you are stating seems to be Wikipedia:Original research - unless one can prove that the "u" is meant to be pronounced clearly through reliable sources (the author stating that the u is meant to be pronounced as such), what is here is Original research and that is not permitted. WhisperToMe (talk) 21:46, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
The pronunciation could still be interpreted differently, one. Perhaps we could record sound samples and listen to them, and make note of speakers, times, etc. We could say that in the anime characters seem to prounounce the u. But..
Number two is that this could be a consequence of the anime company. Remember that Bleach was originally a manga. Did Tite Kubo make a specific point of having Yoruichi's name pronounced as such? Do any official romanizations (by Kubo, by Shueisha in materials manuals published about the series, or anyone else) actually romanize the name as "Shihouin"?
There are lots of materials and documents out there...
WhisperToMe (talk) 19:57, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Sometime we should get some scans of the guidebook. I know VIZ uses circumflexes/macrons with Yoruichi's name, so I don't see any alternative. - BTW Tokyopop is known for using strange romanizations such as Toushiro, etc. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:53, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Hey, thank you for the link! When the romanizations differ, I am using it as a source! WhisperToMe (talk) 21:53, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Censorship by Shabak
Please restore what I wrote about Censorship of Gmail on the article about Censorship by Google and what I wrote on Shabak and Talk:Shabak. I'm the source and I put evidence on Talk:Censorship by Google and Talk:Shabak (deleted). Are you related to any government or secret agency and specifically the United States of America or Israel? Wikipedia should be edited by individual people, the evidence I wrote is concrete and should not be deleted. From what you wrote I understand you are a soldier in the army of Israel.
There are more methods the Shabak uses which are known to many people but are considered top secret by the heads of the government of Israel and the Shabak, please see what I wrote on this page for more details. Citizen of the state (talk) 11:10, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Sure - I'll have a look at them; I do prefer them to succession boxes, which I just find annoying. Regarding redirects, I just don't like clicking on a non-perfect link (i.e. arriving at a page via a redirect).

Yisrael Beiteinu
Sorry, I don't understand. I didn't move the page - I just found out today that when it was moved ages ago (on 3 March 2007), that the person who did it did a cut and paste move rather than a proper one. All I did today was merge the page history to comply with GDFL. пﮟოьεԻ 57 00:47, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- PS - their English website refers to them as Yisrael Beiteinu, Yisrael Beitenu and Israel Beytenu all on the same page. The respective hits on Haaretz are 1,440, 284 and 0 (on JPost the figures are 141, 92 and 0), which suggests the current title does meet WP:COMMONNAME requirements. пﮟოьεԻ 57 01:37, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Inclusionist vs. deletionism
Its not that I changed sides. After long consideration, over hours in fact, I have realized what fulfills certain criterea, and what doesn't. I have always prefered to include rather then delete. Deletion is absolutely the last thing I want, but significance of certain things must come first. The example you gave about the three kids who pissed Ichigo off in the first episode barely adds anything to the plot and is not remotely important. They only get Ichigo angry, and the next thing you know, they disappear. What I believe qualifies for the list is Karins' soccer team, and Orihime's classmates. They do appear over several episodes, adding to the plot of that episode and deserve to be kept. As for bigger articles, example being Grimmjow and Szayel, I really do prefer to keep them, but Nnoitra and Ulquiorra? Not that they are stubs, but I doubt any of them with the exception of Grimmjow could get significant coverage or real world information to satisfy WP:FICT. I rather not have another AFD where these articles are on the disadvantage, gets wiped off Wikipedia without being transwiki, and we have to start over.--Hanaichi 09:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Gin Ichimaru
A tag has been placed on Gin Ichimaru requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hadag Nahash
Hadag Nahash's press kit says that it plays hip hop, funk and other music. Generally, it is called a hip hop group in Israel. Why did you change the classification to funk group? -- Ynhockey (Talk) 08:59, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- The group hates that classification. I know the lead singer, who’s a friend of a friend. He said the group is placed in the hip-hop section because the record company to which it is signed did not know how to classify its sound. It sounds like the Brand New Heavies, not Wu-Tang Clan or A Tribe Called Quest, although it is influenced by hip-hop music. Remember: beats + rhymes = hip-hop. If the primary vocal is sung, it’s not hip-hop! Peace. —MuzikJunky (talk) 07:09, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
If they hate the label as you say, why don't they do something about it with their producer? In any case, do you have a reliable source to verify what you said? -- Ynhockey (Talk) 17:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- It has nothing to do with their producer—it’s a marketing thing. I spoke to the lead singer myself, who told me this. Peace. —MuzikJunky (talk) 20:52, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Image:Jaffa-jerusalem railway.png
Thank you very much for posting this map.
However, I wanted to note that from Lod you note the old Eastern railway line as "unused". This is not so in practice as while that line no longer reaches Hadera from Lod, it does go all the way to Kfar Saba. So I think marking it as 'unused', at least from Lod, is incorrect. North of Kfar Saba it is unused, but south of it, it is definitely in usage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiliki (talk • contribs) 04:04, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for correcting the map. However, according to your own ledgend, the Lod-Rosh Ha'ayin line should have been drawn in red or purple as it is quite often used by frieght trains and empty passenger trains.
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Relentless.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Relentless.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Keigun uniform.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Keigun uniform.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 23:02, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
List of Bleach locations
Bleh my internet connection has been very unreliable recently. Although it has been a month since that AFD and discussion, I was under the assumption that most people wanted it to be merged into Bleach settings in the main article. I personally thought that would bring up a lot of clutter, so I suggested to merge it to a new article, List of Bleach locations, but most didn't see it that way here. Most manga and anime series usually have an article like that because usually a single article for a specific place cannot stand alone. Then there is a problem with Karakura Town. Some admin deleted it, based on the number of votes, so all the information is gone there. Now somebody else has merged everything into the Bleach (manga)#setting area, giving the main article too many copyrighted images and it might lose its GA status because of that, plus making everything untidy and cluttered.--Hanaichi 02:14, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:User IDF
A tag has been placed on Template:User IDF requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Arad Visitor Center
Actually I will like to see a reference that "Arad Visitor Center" is a tourist information centre. I think a google book search will be helpful. I know it is not controversial information, but reference makes an article complete and it looks good. Do you have any book related to tourism which describe this fact. RE: Arad Ynhockey - I think that Arad is getting very close to GA status - Im not sure if you are working directly towards this? Flymeoutofhere (talk) 19:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry I didnt see that - I currently have Haifa awaiting a GA review and Tel Aviv recently failed its FAC to give you some idea. The content of Arad is now much better but I think it could do with more referencing. A GAC review will also say the lead needs extending and perhaps the demographics section also. I'll try to help add info over the next few days. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 22:03, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I completely agree - if it were my opinion the page would be referenced enough but I know from having put Tel Aviv and Haifa through GAC and Tel Aviv into FAC that the reviewers want every point to be sourced. I will have a go - in my opinion this is one thing holding back many Israel related articles in general because often it is difficult to find sources, especially in english to reference to the article. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 12:50, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Back to Arad, I've done some copyediting - I think the history section is going to need expansion. Whilst they look awful, Ive added the citation needed tags so that other editors can add info as they view the page. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 11:48, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about that - I never realised I deleted anything like that...maybe converting what is already there into prose is the better option - I'll get onto it. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 17:44, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- I was just looking at the Ashdod article and think this might be a more realistic GA article on which to base Arad in that it is more comparable in size. I really dont feel that with this article we are far off. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 19:55, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

- Maybe actually it would be an idea to nominate the article for GA now. Remove those tags - see what happens and if neccessary we can always delete the statements. The Haifa GA has been waiting for a month with no review yet so it might be an idea to get it in now and carry on working on it. Let me know (and I'll remove the outstanding tags). Flymeoutofhere (talk) 21:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'll nominate for GA now - and in the meanwhile we can continue working on it as before. If we are ultimately going for FA we need to pass through GA anyway so might as well. I think I'd find it very hard to find sources to those articles - Ive really found it hard to source anything which has prevented development of many of the Israeli geography articles in general. I think the map will greatly enhance the article as will all this further information, at least there now seems to be more to base the FA upon. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 21:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
On another topic - Ive renominated Tel Aviv as a FAC - you can see on the nomination page Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Tel Aviv. Could you please have a look and let me know if you agree with the comments made by User:Maralia as someone who hasnt had much recent involvement in the article's development. Thanks. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 18:15, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for those comments - to be honest, they really have been more useful to me in developing the article than any other comment I have been given in any FAC, GAC, Peer Review or Copyedit! I'm slowly working through Arad, and looking for sources. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 20:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
On another topic again, I wonder if you could do me a favour with the Haifa article. It was a GA nominee and failed in part due to a lack of information in a few sections. I've found info for some of these, but dont think my Hebrew is good enought to find/translate information on the current city council/legislators and to expand the art and culture section. Any help here would be much appreciated. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 10:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for those links. Ive extracted some information for demographics but think I will struggle with the government and culture sections. For the government section, there needs to be information on the municipality - its makeup, jurisdiction and what it covers (responsibilities), regularity of elections etc. Also basic information on law in the city, and other public services of notability. For the culture section, I think it just needs general expansion with whatever ifnromation is available at that source. If you would do this - itd be fantastic. Thanks. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 16:51, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the government info. With the cultural section, is there any extra information on music, theater, cinema, art, etc which you know of or is at the cultural source you provided. Its the one thing now which is missing from the GA review and whilst Im not sure it is crucual, it would be very beneficial to have this info. Thanks. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 10:38, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Yediot
The Yediot thing was not intended as a transliteration - the article's name itself is the (albeit bad) transliteration - but rather as a pronounciation guide - kh is used in English to denote the sound of both Het and Khuf as we English speakers cannot really differentiate between them. The missing "a" was just carelessness on my part. Hope that explains, пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:50, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

I made those changes to facilitate discussion, I wouldn't have been so brazen it if it wasn't simply a proposal. I never meant for it all to be permanant. In addition, I'm offended you removed imformation on what the policy will be with he at the end of words, and the transliteration letters to avoid (i.e., q, ts, ...), because since you did a blanket revert (which is fine), you should have responded to the paragraph I wrote at the bottom Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Hebrew)#Comments regarding guideline when I made those edits to begin with, and in which, as of yet, no "other editors will be more than happy to discuss the issue(s) with you and reach proper consensus," I'm still waiting for that. Good day. Epson291 (talk) 01:31, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Restoration of templates
Just wanted to thank you for restoring the original Israel muni infoboxes for those Negev towns. I was doing that before for towns in the Galilee, but just got tired of it. I'll start restoring infoboxes everywhere now. --Al Ameer son (talk) 04:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Just got done with some Center District towns and moved Kafr Qasim to the cities list of the Center District template. I'll do all of Haifa District tomorrow (most of the infoboxes have been restored there) Anyway, its 4:40 in America so I'm going to hit the sack. --Al Ameer son (talk) 08:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: Eilat opening panorama...
Actually I got both the idea and the image from Dutch Wikipedia (through Commons, of course) and used it to replace the previous gallery shots - which were not very good. Please reconsider; I'm reverting for the time being. Meanwhile, hope you have an easy [and safe!| stint. Good Luck, Shir-El too 18:58, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- You are probably right, but this to me is a much more attractive and descriptive image of Eilat than a profile of North Beach hotels. Went back to the Commons to find out where else it is in use, but either it isn't any more or (more probably) I don't know how to find the info. Be Well, Shir-El too 19:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
realizing your issue is with the image itself, not the formatting, i've formatted the image properly and moved it to the bottom. feel free to move it around, but please leave the current formatting. Actually, I prefer the way I had it at the top, without the formatting, but I appreciate your attention to detail and will retain the formatting when I move it back up. Cheers, Shir-El too 17:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. Am also working on the citations but Benno Rothenberg is not easily found on the web. Shir-El too 17:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Moshavot
Thanks for the heads up - I was a little unclear. My Hebrew isn't good enough to translate the Hebrew article, so I don't suppose you could have a go at it?
Also, should all the places I've put in Category:Former moshavot just go in Category:Moshavot as in the Hebrew version? Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 14:04, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I'll empty them and delete. Made a bit of progress with the translation... пﮟოьεԻ 57 14:18, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Arad GA Fail
Hi. I was very surprised to see Arad get a quick GA fail - it doesnt meet the quick fail criteria - the only thing it comes remotely clear to meeting is because of its 4 cn tags but this is hardly a large number. Let me know your thoughts. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 08:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- please deal with the issues and i will re-review the page. don't worry! i appreciate your efforts and i will not let your hopes fall down! Just meet those issues and i will definitely pass it! Cheers, (the one whom you consider as an unfair reviewer) Sushant gupta (talk) 16:41, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK - yes I agree. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 17:01, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- fine, perhaps you are right. do one thing, let the history section the way it is now. but truly speaking while i was reviewing this page i found images very messy. if you don't mind can you please remove few images, which you yourself find less important. it looks very scattered on wide screen monitors, especially on iMac. thanks, Sushant gupta (talk) 17:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- yes, i agree with you. i found your comments really worth and rational. just meet those citation tags. well if you are not bluffing regarding the appearance of the page on 17'' monitor. i can withdraw my comment. after all our purpose is to build wikipedia. if it looks good in small monitors if have no problem. With regards, Sushant gupta (talk) 17:30, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

sorry, i don't know how to take a screenshot. anyway, i have no problem with images to that extent after all it won't be obstructing GA passage for the page. just address those two statements which needs ref. And inform me. i will pass it. now if you don't mind its very late night in India and i want to sleep for at least 8 hours (i haven't slept for 2 days). i will surely pass it in the morning. thank you (if you address those statements) Sushant gupta (talk) 18:52, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- i have passed it. Good night! zzzzzzz.............Sushant gupta (talk) 18:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Great work! It deserves it. Yes, lets work on getting more Israeli cities etc up to this standard. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 19:37, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

RE: List of cities in Israel
I was looking at this list and thinking its close to FA list standard so was making little edits to get it there. I know that if we leave the gallery there (even though we prefer it there) it wont pass the FA. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 14:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I completely agree but its better I guess to have it ready before than to ammend it as a result of a comment. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 14:23, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- You dont by any chance know where the source for hte list of cities by immigrants is? Flymeoutofhere (talk) 14:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I cant see an updated version of that data so will cite that one. Flymeoutofhere (talk) 16:24, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Ynhockey. I'm User:Hobbeslover (changed my name a little while ago). Why did you revert my edits? I thought that they would be clarifying. erc talk/contribs 18:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- No problems. I'll go back and re-word it later, if it's okay with you. erc talk/contribs 18:14, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I mean, I really don't care. I just think that the wording right now isn't that great. And again, no worries :) erc talk/contribs 18:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Introduction
I saw your posting at User talk:El C's page today. I'm on a kind of crusade to get rid of anti-Semitism on Wikipedia, mostly by accident. I mostly edit medical and science articles, because I am a physician (and spent several years in the US Navy in the Medical Corps), and I think I accidentally ran into Race and intelligence. There was an editor who thought he could get away with an evil comment about how Nazi's executing Jews was humane (the logic still eludes me, but since I'm missing Uncles and Aunts because of the humane treatment, I might be biased). I see your passion on some of your edits, so you might want to watch some other articles where anti-Semitic behavior is seen--right now there are a couple of racist editors involved with Ku Klux Klan, which is a Neo-Nazi hate group in the US.
However, this isn't the reason I'm writing. I noticed your name, and I had to laugh. I am a big hockey fan, and I share Los Angeles Kings season tickets with an Israeli ex-pat and his wife. We attend many games together, and we even went to watch the Israeli team play in some games in the US a few years ago. My son, who, of course is Jewish, plays hockey and I've tried to convince him to go to Israel and join the team. Then we found out that just about every good Jewish hockey player in the US, Canada, and Russia moves to Israel for the team, and my son isn't that good! Matthieu Schneider came to a friends Bar Mitzvah a few years ago (when he played for the Kings), and he told me the story that he is the answer to a great trivia question: what is the only NHL goal by a Jewish player which was assisted by another Jewish player. It was Schneider passing to Camalleri (both with the Kings at the time) in a game at Carolina. However, it took 100 years for that to happen, so it may not happen for another 100 years.
I'm not sure how you became a Canucks fan, so I'd love to know. Stay safe while you're with the IDF. Shalom. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 18:26, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

New articles on Israel
Nice work on the railways articles. It's good to see someone is maintaining th project. I'm a bit busy at this time, so I don't really make major contributions, but hopefully I'll get back on it soon enough. Meanwhile, get a ח"ח. Keep up the good work :-) -- Nudve (talk) 06:39, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
