How can I create an article directly? The article wizard is forcing to create a draft.
- That's the normal article creation process. First create a draft. It will be reviewed by other editors. Once it is approved it becomes an article in the main encyclopaedia. --Salimfadhley (talk) 10:06, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- (ec) New users cannot directly create articles. You must be at least autoconfirmed to create articles yourself); you don't yet have 10 edits. Even if you can create articles yourself, it is strongly advised that you use the Articles for Creation process to submit a draft for review by other editors. Successfully creating a new article is the absolute hardest task to perform on Wikipedia, and I guarantee you it is harder than you think it is. If you dive right in without knowledge and experience, there is a decent chance you will end up with feelings of frustration and anger as things that you don't understand happen to any article that you create, including merciless editing by others and even deletion. If you submit a draft and other people look at it before it is formally a part of the encyclopedia, it will be treated much less harsly, and you can work out any problems before it's in the encyclopedia. If you work out the problems first, that greatly increases your chances of success.
- I would also advise you to edit some existing articles in areas that interest you, to get a feel for how Wikipedia operates and what is expected of article content. Using the new user tutorial is also helpful. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
