While I don't disagree with the revert, you stated that "the game doesn't list this info" when in fact, it kinda does. Songs can be listed by decade of release when selecting songs from the full list.--SeizureDog (talk) 03:22, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tabletennis-screen.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tabletennis-screen.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:New-yankee-stadium2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:New-yankee-stadium2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 12:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Live-from-somerset-house.jpg

[edit]

I have tagged Image:Live-from-somerset-house.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Orphaned non-free media (Image:New-yankee-stadium.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:New-yankee-stadium.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:05, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:Gh-guitar-controllers.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Gh-guitar-controllers.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Gary King (talk) 06:38, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed (mostly on the GTA IV article) that you often make edits where you remove large portions of text without giving reasons as to why. I'd like to encourage you to more often use edit summaries when you make edits that might not seem obvious to everyone. Best regards — Emil K. (talk|contribs) 23:53, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you maybe be more detailed with why you're removing specific sections? The Vandal Warrior (talk) 21:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removing {{toolong}}

[edit]

Hi. In case you didn't notice, you removed {{toolong}} from the top of Grand Theft Auto IV. I'm going to assume good faith, as in it was an accident. The page is still rather large. WP:SPLIT says that after 60 kB, articles should be considered for splitting. If you think the template shouldn't be there, talk about it! Talk:Grand_Theft_Auto_IV#Article_length.2C_again. Sorry, think I had an edit error or something with you there, if your comment was aimed at me anyway. Was trying to revert The Vandal Warriors revert of your edits...anyway. Sorry. John.n-IRL 00:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, yes, I see what happened now. I was in the middle of making a quick edit, but didn't realize my previous ones had already been reverted. I got all confused cause things seemed to happen out of order. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 00:08, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. :) John.n-IRL 00:17, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Although you are allowed to remove my comments it is rude. I'm just trying to help build a better article on GTA IV and a little bit of civility goes a long way. If you delete this comment I'll presume that you have read it. The Vandal Warrior (talk) 21:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help with PopMart Tour

[edit]

Hey, I'm really trying to get PopMart Tour to GA-status, and I'm running into a big problem as I'm trying to figure out how to structure the article's layout. Since I haven't found any decent concert tour articles on here, I can't seem to figure out how to write this one. There are so many topics I want to cover, but I just don't know to put it all together. If you could help me out with some suggestions, I'd appreciate it a lot. –Dream out loud (talk) 03:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures in GH lists

[edit]

I appreciate the help to normalize all the lists, but I must ask why you are removing the images from those lists. All the images used are Commons, so there's no non-free problems, and per the original FLC reviews for these lists, help to spice up the visual appearance of the lists. --MASEM 18:09, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If memory serves me right, Wikipedia's policy on pictures says they shouldn't be used simply to make an article look nice or less "word dense", but rather to contribute to the context of an article with something visual that cannot be easily ascertained by text. I don't think any of the pictures for the list articles really add anything except visual appeal (and some of them were confusingly out of place e.g. the picture of the guitar controller). Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 18:13, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know, for Featured Lists, the reviewers (not just for GH but for all lists) are strongly discouraging the normal use of bolding for the lead, preferring that the context be established for what the list is about, instead of the typical "The following is a list of...". --MASEM 15:15, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Rock music WikiProject. There's alot of Rock-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help us get this project off the ground and a few Rock music pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Block notice

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule at Oasis (band). Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Y2kcrazyjoker4 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Many of the other editors at the Oasis (band) article are being unreasonable. I'm changing the lead to a version that condenses many unnecessarily wordy sentences to something much more concise. However, the other editors are reverting on sight instead of discussing my changes on the discussion page, while using the edit comments to indicate they don't wish for it to degrade after being GA. This tells me that they are too protective of the page and they are not observing Wikipedia:Ownership of articles because they are acting like they own the article because of their editing efforts. I don't see why I should be blocked from editing because others are being close-minded. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 13:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You were clearly edit warring on the article, a pointless and destructive way to edit. The actions of other users are not really the issue here - you are the one who choses when and how to press the edit button. Also the block is only 12 hours....calm down, sleep well and look at the article with fresh eyes tommorrow.— Peripitus (Talk) 13:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

How come I got blocked again? I did not exceed 3 reverts in a 24 hour period for the U2 article - are people just blocking editors now for reaching 3 reverts instead of exceeding that amount? If you look at the edit history, I made 4 edits in the last 24 hours - 3 were reverts, one was a correction to some punctuation in a sentence with a edit comment meant to expand upon my previous one.

Decline reason:

Stop edit warring. "3 were reverts" -- you don't have a right to three reverts. Just stop edit warring. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 14:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Ok, now you admins are going absolutely overboard. I didn't do any sort of reverting of any kind to the U2 article in the last 24 hours and yet, you blocked me again. I made edits that were explained and justified on the talk page and I was encouraging people in my edit comments to join me on the talk page for discussion. Do any of you actually check these things out before you block people?

Decline reason:

Yes, we do. However, your block has expired. Please see the instructions here to get it cleared. — Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:06, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:New-yankee-stadium2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jonathan talk - contribs - review me! 15:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a heads up, I am sure you acted in good faith: If you notice an article like One Hundred Million Suns to be called something else within the article and the name has sources, I would advise you check the sources prior to moving the article to a new name. In this case for example an IP changed it to wrong information and you acted upon that while the article itself has sources for the current name. Just fyi to keep in mind in the future. U2 sales...

[edit]

Thanks. Seems much more reasonable. I understand Joshua Tree sold over 20million (maybe), but a 170m+ figure means they needed nine albums to sell almost 20mil each. That's got to be wrong. cheers --Merbabu (talk) 01:10, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

U2 worldwide album sales

[edit]

U2 has 12 studio albums if you include their soundtrack album, and 26 albums if you include their live and compilation albums. It is entirely possible that they have sold 170 million records. Especially, if you consider the fact that the 20 million figure that you quoted is an old, low-ball number. ŁittleÄlien¹8² (talk\contribs) 01:41, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Your continued extensive efforts in both improving *and* maintaining the U2 articles make a real difference and should not go unnoticed – well done! A request though: could you please provide edit summaries particularly if it is just minor formatting like this edit. Ie, if your edit summaries say, for example, minor date or formatting corrections, other editors don’t need to open it up to check what you did. :-) Kind regards and happy editing. --Merbabu (talk) 00:19, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Beatles singles

[edit]

There doesn't seem to be much consistency here; take a look at Got to Get You into My Life, for instance. I'd suggest that this is a matter to be mentioned at The Beatles project so that a consensus is either reiterated or established. Meanwhile, members of that project tend to be rather jealous of it, despite WP:OWN, so be prepared for some heavy discussion. Cheers. --Rodhullandemu 19:52, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
