Japanese Brazilians
[edit]You have uploaded an image on Liberdade district in Sao Paulo on Japanese Brazilians, but sadly, it was deleted as there was no licence. If you could, could you please re-upload that image, but only with a GFDL, PD or Creative commons licence if you upload it, and declare where you get the image from, whether it was taken by you or from elsewhere. Using wrong copyright licences and not providing sources on images would result in deletion, which is really, really sad. I hope you could re-upload the image under my personal appeal, satisfying these mandatory conditions set by wikipedia. Cheers! Mr Tan 16:16, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Xuxona.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Xuxona.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Abu Badali 02:52, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Juliana Imai.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Juliana Imai.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu Badali 02:54, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Fair Use for magazine covers
[edit]Please understand tha Magazine Covers can only be claimed to be Fair Use when used to illustrate the publication of the issue of the magazine in question (read the text on template. {{Magazinecover}}). I am not insane and I didn't liked your rudeness --Abu Badali 17:13, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
RE:STOP ERASING PEOPLE'S IMAGES
[edit]In reply to your comments in my talk page:
Please, Xuxo, this is the second time you are rude torwards me. I have no interest in being your adversary. I want to colaborate with you, just like with any other wikipedian, to make this a great free encyclopedy.
Removing images we don't have the rigth to use, or that are improperly used is part of the job of improving Wikipedia. Magazine covers, as explained in the text shown in the {{Magazine cover}} template itself, can only be used to illustrate the publication of the issue of the magazine in question (see the 1st bullet there). This means, among other things, that magazine covers can't be used to illustrate the person portrayed on them.
Magazine covers are not Fair Use per se. Actually, nothing is fair use per se. Fair use, as the name says, deals with the use of the image (or text, or any work). Using a copyrighted magazine cover to talk about a magazine is a fair use. Using a copyrighted movie poster (or scene) to talk about the movie is a fair use. Using a magazine copyrighted cover as a replacement for a picture we don't have (of some celebrity, or whatever) is not a fair use.
I share your sentiments that it would be really great if magazine covers could be used anywere we wish, for anything. But unfortunatelly it's not true.
About the article you cited, I would say that the use of a magazine cover in Halle Berry is hardly justifiable (thanks for poiting out!). The Shakira and Jennifer Lopez uses of album covers may be arguably justified as illustration of their works (just like the Xuxa article has an album cover illustrating the discography section).
I don't have others Wikipedia usernames and I never intentionally edit articles anonymously.
I never studied law, it's true. As a matter of fact, all I know about Fair use I learned from Wikipedia's article on Fair use.
Don't be shy to return your toughts to me. I'm completly open to talks envisioning the improvement of Wikipedia, but I may refuse to talk when people are overly discourteous to me.
I hope all personal misunderstandings are solved by now. Best regards, --Abu Badali 13:54, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
TV Screenshot for Sabrina Sato
[edit]Hello again, Xuxo. I noticed you have uploaded a screenshot of a tv program and used it to illustrate the article about the person depicted on the screenshot. I'm afraid this is no better than misusing magazine covers for that. As the {{tv-screenshot}} template itself says, such images can only be used for identification and critical commentary on the station ID or program and its contents. That is to say, that image could be used to illustrate an article about the TV programa in question (Panico na Tv) or about the sation broadcasting that program. But no to illustrate the article about Sabrina Sato.
Please, don't feel again like you're being huntted. I do that because I believe you do have the necessary sensitiveness and willingness for understanding the Fair use concept and how it can be properly used to improve our great encyclopedia. Best regards, --Abu Badali 14:18, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Giseele.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ana Michels.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Stop hunting me, please
[edit]Why are you erasing the pictures I have posted here??
You have no right to do it! The Ana Claudia Michels's picture is a MAGAZINE COVER. Since then, I can use it in Wikipedia. You've been saying that it does not have fair use to illustrate a celebrity's article. YOU ARE THE ONLY USER who sais this lie in Wikipedia, because every celebrity's article in Wikipedia does have a magazine cover to illustrate it. But, I've noticed that you just erase MY POSTS, while there are thousands of articles with magazine covers, and you did not erase them. Why don't you go to Kate Moss article and erase the magazine covers? And that about Naomi Campbell??? And how about Heidi Klum. What do you say about Claudia Schiffer and Yamila Diaz. Why don't you go there and erase them and hunt their posters too? Answer me that!
And it is not only me, because in the Ana Claudia Michels article, I posted the magazine cover, then you came and erased the image. Then another use came and re-posted the image, arguing that is was a magazine cover used to illustrate the article and it HAS FAIR USE.
Saying again, you have no right to erase magazine covers image here, because they are not fobidden in Wikipedia. Don't you have other things to do in your life?? Do you work for those magazines??
Only one person could come here a erase a magazine cover: THE OWNER OF THE MAGAZINE. Since you are the owner, I do not know what you get with it.
Stop hunting me and get a job, please.
- You do have problems. I have explained you the magazine covers affair more than once. Wheneve a third party was necessary to resolv the dispute, the decisiona was to remove the image. I don't think I can help you anymore. Have you really read Template_talk:Magazinecover? What about WP:Fair use? What really disapoints me is the fact that I do believe you have read them all. And it's useless. --Abu Badali 23:23, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Afro-Brazilian: citation needed
[edit]Hi, Xuxo. :-) I see that you put the "citation needed" tag on Afro-Brazilian.
This is not really a perfect citation, but it might help us to find the citation that we want. -- Writtenonsand 22:31, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

The article Juliana Imai has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Questionable notability. Only working ref is a blog and Gnews only turns up trivial mentions.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mbinebri talk ← 14:14, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Empire of Brazil
[edit]The information on ethnic groups in the article about the Empire of Brazil is based on reliable sources. The article itself is a Featured Article, which means it's regarded among the best on Wikipedia. You have been trying to months to remove sourced content despite other editors' opinions who have continuously reverted your edits. I'm here asking you to stop. If you persist it will be regarded vandalism and you'll be sanctioned for that. Think about it. --Lecen (talk) 22:34, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited Paraná (state), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Genetic and Guarani (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Please discuss your issue with the picture on the Talk:Mexico page, rather than engaging in an edit war. I Agree the picture is dubious, but adding "citation needed" to a picture caption is not the answer. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 00:11, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

January 2015
[edit]Your recent editing history at Pardo shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Xuxo. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Xuxo~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Michel Temer's ethnocultural's background
[edit]Temer is not "a Maronite". . . I don't speak Portuguese so I haven't corrected this mistake in the corresponding Brazilian wiki page. As for "sources, well they're mostly in French and Arabic & I have read them. Pls. note that there is absolutely no ambiguity here as Btaaboura, the small village where Temer's parents BOTH came from is 100% Byzantine Greek-Orthodox - unlike some other Lebanese towns with mixed populations belonging to different communities. SEE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Btaaboura The confusion from the part of some Brazilian journalists stems from two unrelated facts:
- 1) Temer and his brothers converted to Roman Catholicism = mainstream Latin American Catholicism
- 2) Most BUT NOT ALL Brazilian-Lebanese are of Lebanese Maronite-Catholic descent. BUT that's not the case of the Temer family
- Hope that helps

Disambiguation link notification for February 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ernesto Geisel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I need assistance
[edit]I can see "Pob3qu3" has been borderline vandalizing many pages regarding Mexico and especially inflating the amount of Mexicans being "White." He then tried accusing my objection to this of me being a "sockpuppet" simply because I (and many others) disagree with his obviously ridiculous additions to the page. We need to fix it and get the page protected at this point. Analyticalreview (talk) 18:31, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Analyticalreview I agree. Xuxo (talk) 20:39, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to add the only reason I noticed this is because a few people have personally sent me this Wikipedia page now legitimately thinking Mexico is half White. It's quite obvious this is spreading borderline propaganda. Analyticalreview (talk) 20:56, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- I don’t agree with that sentiment either of 49%, I understand it’s important to add ranges to Wikipedia articles but White Mexicans are closer to making up only from 1/5-1/3 of the Mexican population. The majority of Mexicans are mestizo. PedroDonasco (talk) 22:37, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- I am in general concurrence with you. I would probably make the range between 10-15% on the lower end and around 30% on the higher end of the estimate at the most. The sources that are provided literally only have 1/10 Mexicans self-identifying their skin tone as "blanco." While many other Mexicans identify as "light-skin" that is not equivalent to identifying as "White" (which a minority of Mexicans do). Many people of different ethnicities and cultures identify as having lighter skin while also specifically not identifying as "White." Analyticalreview (talk) 23:14, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- I have seen reports of light skin Mexicans getting over 70% native ancestry on tests, and as stated literally within Ethnic groups in Latin America page, light skin for Mexican mestizos comes mostly from native genetics rather than European genetics. As stated here “However, genetic evidence published in 2019 has challenged this presumption. A genome-wide association study of 6000 Latin Americans from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru found that the strongest correlation for light skin color in these populations was actually an amino acid variant of the MFSD12 gene; which is absent in Europeans, but very common in East Asians and Native Americans”. I even tried to get rid of the 49% white for the demographics of Mexico page but I had edits constantly reverted, also I would like to apologize for my involvement within the sock puppet case, I have had to deal with many sock puppets before and the evidence did look a little bit convincing, I usually take a neutral stance on Wikipedia but Pob3qu3 does seem to be heavily biased with his edits, especially on pages relating to white Mexicans. PedroDonasco (talk) 23:16, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yes. I have friends that are Indigenous Mexicans (from pueblos that still speak the languages) and their skin colors range drastically. Some are very dark while others have much lighter skin than you would expect from people that are over 90% Indigenous by DNA. Analyticalreview (talk) 23:24, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
- So, he sent me some sources and the last one blatantly contradicts what he is saying. It has a link to another article which states:
- "Si consideramos que de las escalas A hasta la H una persona puede ser considerada como morena, tenemos que casi el 88% de los mexicanos son morenos."
- So it considers only 12% of Mexicans "White" which is much closer to the 1 in 10 Mexicans that self-identify as "Blanco." Analyticalreview (talk) 02:36, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Warning
[edit]Do not edit war on White Mexicans. Your recent revert was an extension of an ongoing edit war involving Analyticalreview who solicited your help in the edit war. You are thus a proxy and not an uninvolved party. EvergreenFir (talk) 20:01, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
You're contributing to misinformation and vandalism on the African diaspora thread
[edit]- You're not reading responses thoroughly before responding
- As said before, to keep consistency with multiple other populations including mixed-race/afrodescendants (such as US, UK, Colombia, and more) in the figure, Brazil's mixed race population is also included
- You lied about the IBGE not classifying pardos as afrodescendants. I linked an article from The Guardian multiple days ago that got commentary from the IBGE itself commenting on the trend of afrodescendants being the majority in Brazil. Are you saying they're afro-centric? Is anything you don't agree with afro-centric?
- You have yet to provide one source to any of the claims you made, and citations must be had when making edits. Disagreements are fine, but you are being obstinate and against the nature of Wikipedia by editing based off of incredulity instead of based off of facts.
- I've provided almost ten sources for everything I wrote and you have provided none and it is also inconsistent with historical records. At this point you are arguing in bad faith and engaging in vandalism of the article by refusing to cite your sources and engage properly. You will be reported if you do this again. Tread carefully

Foreign born vs foreigner
[edit]Hello! I have observed your recent edits to the page titled "Immigration to Portugal." It appears that you might be conflating two distinct concepts: the difference between a foreign national and a foreign-born individual.
A foreign national is a person residing in a country (in this instance, Portugal) without possessing the citizenship of that country. Naturalised citizens are not considered within this category. However, the figure may include children born in Portugal to foreign parents, even though these children are not immigrants themselves (cf. População estrangeira).
Conversely, a foreign-born person is an individual who resides in a country different from the one in which they were born. In this context, the term "immigrant" is used.
The first paragraph addresses the foreign-born population and states: "As of December 2022, Portugal had 1,733,067 inhabitants who were born in a foreign country, out of 10,516,621 inhabitants, accounting for 16.48% of its total population." Thus, "it (correctly) sells the idea that 16% of the population of composed of immigrants". Thus, while all immigrants are foreign-born individuals, not all foreign nationals are considered immigrants.
On the other hand, the second paragraph begins with "Dealing with foreign nationals (inhabitants without Portuguese citizenship, regardless of their country of birth or ethnic background)," so here we're dealing with foreign nationals only.
I hope the difference is clear now. I leave you a few links in case you're interested. You might also want to check INE metadata out.

Continuing making biased edits to the African diaspora article
[edit]As @Mawer10 has said, you are forcing your views in the edits and therefore will continuously be reverted. You are doing bad faith misinterpretations of what the census says and cherry picking sources to fit your own narrative, as you've done in other articles related to Latin America
It makes sense to only include black-only population figures, but not cherry pick which countries get to include their populations get to have it or not. Even if I went with figures of haplogroups, about 30% of Brazil are direct maternal descendants of enslaved women from Central Africa~West Africa, still putting Brazil in the #1 spot by a landshot, something that seems to upset you for some reason and you have a bias to underplay the afrodescendant population of Brazil.
If you edit what the template says and take out multiracial populations for Colombia, US, and UK, then you can only include the 'preto' figure for Brazil. I'm not going to do it for you though, and if you continue with your current iteration of biased edits I will just undo them. Don't underestimate my patience
This will be my last message to you. Cheers. Kyogul (talk) 20:14, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
