Wikiloop

Hi greetings, I have some doubts regarding the use of wikiloop. I would like to ask you that. Would you mind helping me?

  • I saw different URLs for wikiloop. The seem almost same with some difference. Which URL is the correct one? Or which one do you prefer? Kindly please help.
  • Also, are there any options for quick rollbacking the edit rather than just undoing it?

Hope you'll help. Regards --PATH SLOPU 08:41, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

With respect to domain names, we have 2 versions both working:
1. the general public version is doublecheck.wikiloop.org,
2. we also have a special version, same source code, but hosted on WMF server (less stable) so we can call MediaWiki API Edit feature to conduct the edit (e.g. reverting) that reviewer authorized.
We plan to support rollback edit feature, but it takes sometime. Stay tuned.

Thank you for the help.--PATH SLOPU 13:46, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Evacuation of nationals

Hello, Xinbenlv. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Evacuation of nationals".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 09:32, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

SEC Filings

Hi, I was just searching for some information on the use of SEC filings, and noticed that you had started a discussion about it a while ago.
Since it seems that the majority was supporting the use of these types of documents, do you think that the rules could be amended?
I am all in favor of allowing these filings, as they are very reliable (after all, you can go to jail for misrepresenting facts in there). Sure, there's still some fluff in it, but that's no different than any other SPS.
Thanks! c (talk) 22:37, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Thank you @Frescard:, I think looking at the discussion not all of them are fully support. I think I interpret the discussion's result is details rules of what's considered reliable and what's not needs to be drawn a boundary. I appreciate you pinging me. Can we revive the discussion there and continue to discuss "under what circumstance what part can be considered reliable"? I don't know how to revive though, but love to see more discussion. Again, thank you I almost forgot this discussion xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 22:42, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but ignore what I said.
I've tried getting back into WP after a long hiatus, but just realized that it's still as bad as it was back then, so I will not be getting into any more endless discussions here.
Good luck with it though, and if you need some pro-SEC arguments, just look into some of the "Good Article" nominees, which all have plenty of links to the filings [1], [2], [3] Frescard (talk) 02:25, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
@Frescard: I feel sad that you seem to be taking a wikibreak, and comes back try to restart your contribution, and something comes up (I guess because of unfriendlyness some of the community discussions?) I wish you stay. And I hope at some point we can appreciate more of people's contributions. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:28, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
@Xinbenlv: :) Thanks for the kind words!
Yeah, Wikipedia is a great concept, and could be a great place to collaborate, but unfortunately there are too many people here who are on a power trip. (And, unsurprisingly, you normally find them in the "enforcement" topics.) Lots of wannabe policemen, who can finally wield some power over others (something they probably never have the chance to in real live). Getting into those battles is losing proposition though, as you just end up wasting hours and days of your life, battling people who enjoy those battles.
I don't... So, that's why my return was cut rather short. Luckily, I sleep a lot better now; so I'm afraid that, unless something drastically will change on Wikipedia, this will probably be my last attempt.
But, if you still have the energy, all the best to you, and keep up the good fight! Frescard (talk) 17:30, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Block appeal

@Mz7: Dear Mz7, sorry I immediately stopped the messaging after Praxidicae let me know, and I promise not to do it again. The script I ran as leaving message to relevant users who previously indicate interest to receive communications and I only have done it with a limit rate around a human being could reach. With these caution @Praxidicae: notify me that there are still not allowed and shall stop and I stop immediately, could you consider unblocking me, I am actively developing a counter vandalism tool and need edit access to discuss with people etc. I promise will stop until a better option (e.g. WikiProject NewsLetter with user's explicit subscription list) is planned and approved? Thank you! xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:45, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

@Chris troutman: I agree with you it's a WP:CIR issue and I apologize for any inconvenience it caused for patrollers, admins and users who find it unhelpful and damaging. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:47, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
You made 20 edits in the 60 seconds after I left you a message. That is not the rate of human editing. I am not trying to double down here but this is the second time you've gone and made a huge mess en masse. Praxidicae (talk) 18:49, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Hi Xinbenlv. I disagree with your claim that you have only have done it with a limit rate around a human being could reach, as within the span of about 10-15 minutes, you edited well over 100 talk pages. In the future, if you would like to send a mass message, you should request it at Wikipedia talk:Mass message senders#MassMessage Delivery Requests. In general, it's not a good idea to run an automated script that affects a lot of user talk pages like this without getting it approved at WP:BRFA, especially since MediaWiki has a built-in mass-messaging system. As of now, this block is only to prevent the disruption associated with the unapproved script, so I would be willing to unblock if you now if you acknowledge that you understand these policies and that your script will not resume when your account is unblocked. Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 18:51, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
@Praxidicae: my bad, I agree with you that even if it's not on the article namespace, it flooded the recent change list and could cause issues, which I didn't realize before. I stopped immediately after your notice. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:55, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
@Mz7:, thanks for the education. I acknowledge I understand these policies now and again I apologize for my mistake and inappropriate messaging just now. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:55, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
I've unblocked your account. As general advice for avoiding future issues: please slow down. Take some time to familiarize yourself with how one of our processes works before diving straight into it, e.g. by making an action that would be highly visible because it is controversial or because it would affect a lot of pages. If you are ever unsure or feel that you need a sanity check, there are plenty of experienced editors you can consult who would be happy to assist you. Mz7 (talk) 19:10, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
Thank you @Mz7:, will improve my way of contribution next time. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 03:30, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Mz7:, update: I have put this block information onto my public user page for disclosure. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 18:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

A page you created has been nominated for deletion because it is a biography of a living person that is entirely negative in tone and has unsourced content, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Do not create articles about living people that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative, unreferenced biographies of living people, along with attack pages, are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy may be blocked from editing. –dlthewave 03:40, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

@Dlthewave:: got it, but I disagree with your assessment that article I created was negative toned. I agree that the article is best to be deleted, for now. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 06:42, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

PAGENAME needs to capital letters

Hi, just a FYI that when you use {{pagename}} in lower case letters, that it moves the page to a tracking category for template errors, at Category:Pages which use a template in place of a magic word. I've corrected most of the entries on the talk pages, but just a heads up, as the lower case template apparently doesn't redirect to the upper case template. I hope Wikitext Editor doesn't have this wrong! Here is the problem. Thanks! Funandtrvl (talk) 22:27, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Kenosha protests talk page

Thank you for posting about the Kenosha unrest talk page at WP:ANFRC. I appreciate you trying to get that discussion moved forward. With that said, someone once told me that people are aware that there is a backlog. They also suggested that if I want to see a certain discussion closed more quickly, that I close by myself the simplest discussions with which I am not involved. --Jax 0677 (talk) 14:29, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Double-check not working

The last week or so double-check has often been ignoring the "Should revert" button and only the "Looks Ok" and "Not Sure" buttons respond. Basically, it has become unusable. Wyatt Tyrone Smith (talk) 19:19, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. If you mean wmf.doublecheck.wikiloop.org, it seems still working but a bit slow (like 2-3 seconds). Can you check if it's the case? xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 19:42, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

I am trying to get a draft published in the Cryptocurrency domain, but it's a bit difficult as the reviewers seem to have an opposition to the topic of crypto as a whole.
