Your Request About Retractable Pen

I saw that you wrote about this awhile ago, regardless of that, I think that the Retractable Pen should be added.[1] In fact, I'll look into making this article personally, and then add the retractable pen to the list. Oh yeah, I'd appreciate if you could tell me if the article was made already. Thanks!!!-BlueAmethyst .:*:. (talk) 03:14, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

I found nothing on it (although it is mentioned in so many other pen articles)... I'll start working on the page right now! I'll make the actual page later. :) Thanks!-BlueAmethyst .:*:. (talk) 21:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Reviews and Taran Adarsh

I had a long an tiring discussion with one editor on the Peer review page, Wikipedia:Peer review/Preity Zinta/archive1#Taran Adarsh

And now, there is a new forum Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Critics' opinion in Bollywood related articles...

I would really appreciate your intervention. Please participate.... Regards .... ShahidTalk2me 12:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Awards box

Hello!

Your opinion on the following matter please.:)

On the page of Jolie etc, there is an awards box, and it represents the whole awards section for Jolie on Wikipedia. I mean, her awards are mentioned only on her article, there is no separate page for her awards; all her awards are mentioned in this section, and apparently the writers preferred to format it in boxes. In our case, there are daughter articles for awards. Therefore, the boxes that we have seem to be wholly redunant/unnecessary on the page if there are award pages, for the simple fact that these boxes belong there (on the awards page).

What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 13:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with you. Why do you ask though?xC | 13:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

speedy deletions ...

Hi there. I'm exhausted. I just spotted you at random for tagging a non-notable bio. I've done some of that in the last few days, just for a change of pace from my usual editorial activity, and I'm getting sick of the backlash. I've had my tags summarily removed without notice or comment, my comments deleted from the AFD page, and it just makes me sick. How do YOU handle it? Cbdorsett (talk) 15:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

If your tags are removed from a page by the editor who made the page, that constitutes vandalism and you can report the editor for that (after warning him/her, of course).
If your comments are deleted from an AfD without your permission, thats vandalism too - although you'll have to talk to an admin and figure out what needs to be done depending on how serious it becomes.
As for me, I take breaks while doing this, only do this when I'm in a good mood so that the vandals cant affect me, and don't take Wikipedia seriously enough to allow my emotions to be controlled by it. :)
Don't stress, and happy editing,xC | 15:18, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Dr. Georg Ledderhose

A tag has been placed on Dr. Georg Ledderhose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello friend!

I've already discussed this with User:Yamla. This user had a user name which was blocked. But here are my points:

  • The main problem was -- unreliable sources.
  • Her alleged kiss with Ronaldo is just a silly gossip, and if you see where it bagan, you'll laugh about it.
  • "Basu created her own website" - almost every celebrity has his own website. Besides that, did she create that?
  • "Basu danced with sex workers" - I think can be notable in some way, but the ref is unreliable and my attemts to find a reliable source failed.
  • "Basu is now an animal rights activist and is a member of PFA and PETA - needs an RS.
  • "Basu was molested by a man in a public nightclub" - is that a controversy? And what's notable? (ref is again, unreliable.)
  • "A cosmetic surgeon notified the press recently that Basu had failed to pay him for her alleged silicone implants four years after receiving them" - LOL!
  • ==Trivia== - not permitted.
  • If there are some points you disagree with, please let me know. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 10:23, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Found an RS for dancing. I'll add some possible info. Best regards,:) ShahidTalk2me 10:30, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Hey

Hey there, sorry for not getting back to you for so long after you left a message at my talk-page. You may have figured out that I'v been away from Wikipedia for a long while but have recently returned.

Um, about looking over the Shah Rukh Khan articles and all, I'm kinda unwilling to get back into that saddle right now. One of the prime reasons for that is that WP:INCINE is heavily understaffed (Well it was back around then, dunno about now) and many of the associated editors tend to write articles in ways that they like rather than how they should be written. A good example of this is the Shah Rukh Khan article: I went through hell and back to get that article named "Shah Rukh Khan" and the same thing with "Rani Mukherjee", and provided many reasons and citations as to why they should be named that way. Apparently some editor has changed them back to the wrong spellings of "Shahrukh Khan" and "Rani Mukerji", which are the wrong names and have no reason why they should be that way. I haven't bothered to find out who did this and why, but I'm guessing that it is more or less the same reasons why people who hero-worship these people should not be editing these articles. The Rani Mukherjee article is (or was) being used as a weapon against the Preity Zinta article by a hero-worshipping editor fan. This should not happen. I guess I got sick of reverting cruft and bad edits and arguing with people who just don't have any idea of Wikipedia policies and write articles the way they want to, so that's why I went away.

I invested a lot of time bulking up the Shilpa Shetty article and thankfully that hasn't changed or degraded (much). I never finished it though, maybe that's why it failed GA when someone nominated it in my absense. Anyhow, sorry for rambling on. I guess I will come back to INCINE one of these days as I'm just restricting myself to editing a few articles. Right now I'm up with the Benazir Bhutto assassination stuff and some Nepali politicians in preparation for Nepal's upcoming rejection of the monarchy. I find it rewarding to get involved with articles that are likely to get prominense in the future. That is why I started working on Shilpa Shetty as soon as I heard she would be on Celebrity Big Brother. It was bare bones when I started working on it but it has turned into something of a serious article now.

So I'll get back to INCINE and do some housekeeping there, just like I created the barnstar template for that project, maybe I'll crate a userbox or two, or even create another WikiProject entirely, I'll have to look into it. Anyway, hope all is going fine with you and Happy New Year! :) Ekantik talk 19:37, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Uploading images on the net

Hi, thanks for your comments on my article - I shall put an independent source for that when I can find one but leave it as it is for now. As a relative Wiki newcomer, I have not entirely figured how to upload images onto the body of articles. I appreciate the strict copyright policy but I am talking only of images already on the net. Could you possibly give me a few words of advice (as a message)? It would be much appreciated.

Many thanks Francis Hoar (talk)Francis HoarFrancis Hoar (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Leaving wikipedia

Come on dude. Thats not an excuse to leave but I can see why you feel humiliated. I see that this is a very difficult situation and you have been made to look like the bad guy. I would suggest changing your user name or account. This Ashok Banker guy has quite a spiteful mouth on him doesn't he. Please reconsider leaving. Best regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 15:28, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Firstly you have every reason to stay. Since I have been here I've witnessed this site more than double in size and scope. In several years time quality and coverage should gradually improve (if we block out those vandals) and this site will undoubtedly increase in popularity and gain more contributors and increasignly become a global centre on the web of which you and I should be proud to be much a part of. Your work and presence even if the suckers here don't appreciate it is as important as anybody's. Secondly I have no idea where that illusion appeared that Vandals, trolls and malactors are given respect. Anybody who is contrary to building this encyclopedia productively I loathe and am certain many others feel the same, Personally though I think wikipedia should crack down harder on people who are obviously here to vandalaise and block their IP addresses permantently if they don't heed the first warning. I agree with you though that many people who are here to actually create an encyclopedia are not given enough support or credit but that shouldn't deter you from thinking about the improvement of the project independent of these people.

The best thing I think you can do is to correct and rewrite that article and show to him you are as capable as anybody at creating a neutral encyclopedic article. If you can correct it add reliable references and write it in a neutral way this would show a great strength of character and would change this guys opinion of you. If you feel your name is tarnished unjustifiably, show them that you aren't the person he or they think you are and are as capable of writing an encyclopedia article as much as anybody else. To walk away from it would show that he is right when you can constructively set that egotistical and overly opinionated writer straight. The ball is in your court amigo ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 19:45, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Your absolutely right in removing things such as worldwide fame and all that glorified stuff and to follow layout guidelines. If information isn't referenced then it quite rightly should not be trusted. Remember that he is the "banker" not you. I can't see why he has kicked up such a fuss about it. It could quite easily be corrected so everybody is happy and can move on ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 20:02, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Clearly you can understand why I wouldn't get involved in writing his article, but I'm certain you can work around it to write an article where everybody is happy with it. Please make certain there is no copywrighted text in the article which isn;t acceptable and all claims are supported by numerous reliable sources. This guy seems to have a history as a troublemaker but if everything is sourced and written he has no claim. Where is the evidence that he has gained worldwide fame? Does he realize how many countries in the world have never heard of him? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 20:10, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Please don't leave

I'll send you an e-mail in the morning when my head is clearer. Please reconsider in the meanwhile - we'd be losing an enormous asset. ~ Riana 15:54, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Where are you?

Hello my dear friend xC :)

How are you? You wanted to leave? I see you had some problems on the Ashok Banker article. Please don't get upset, please. You're a great editor, and you're doing a marvelous job on here. Please don't even think to leave. I won't forgive you that!;) Regards, ShahidTalk2me 14:08, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh God, don't remind me that! LOL!!! That's what we get from trying to help LOL!;) Whatever you're doing here, your work is great, fair and constructive to Wikipedia. I always feel so good to see you:) because you're a good friend, you are very nice, cheerful, helpful and your willingness to improve the encyclopedia is noticed in every edit of yours. Please keep it going. Don't forget that, at the end of the day, we are here to have fun; it is not our job or source of income (fortunately... LOL! :)). Please come on more frequently, only seeing your name on my watchilist makes me feel good.
My really best regards, ShahidTalk2me 22:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Hello my friend!!! WOW, I already forgot that. I'm happy that we are laughing about it today... Aren't we? That was very silly! ;) So how've you been? I'm fine (and happy to see you:)).. What are you doing nowadays? ShahidTalk2me 23:59, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh that's great!!! I'm now planning to take some time and do what I enjoy the most doing on here - creating articles (film articles, mainly). :) ShahidTalk2me 00:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
BBC - was something I found and showed him, but
A) It is monitored by Indian journalists. It's a special section for Bollywood (he thought it was led by British critics, but they are Indians, like you and me (are you?) :))
B) There is too much praise in this review he wanted: "Gracy Singh gives a pleasant performance but somewhat gets over shadowed by the superb acting of Priety Zinta." - too much, no?
I was also aware of the NYT review, there is a full section of reviews on the talk page (I've made a kind of an analysis for the majority opinion). Added the NYT. It's well balanced now, there are tworeviews from variety and one from NYT.
Sorry for the late reply, didn't notice your message. ShahidTalk2me 00:42, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey thanks, but I wouldn't really want to become a cooperator or whatever this selection offers. I'm quite happy with what I am. What about you? Would you like to run for it? And how are you doing? ShahidTalk2me 16:12, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

From Shakira to Higounet

Hello !

Perhaps you remember me ? You asked me to translate an italian article about Shakira, and i told you i was not that much interested by her biography, even if i have absolutely nothing against her... I made you the promise to contribute one day on english wiki, (as i do it in french or italian, under the same name) , and i have just translated an article, that was previously among the requested, about Charles Higounet, a french historian medievalist. Would you be so kind as to give a glance at the article and modify what has to be done ? Thank you in advance.

Wikiproject Electronics collaboration

Hi, I am writing to you because you have listed yourself as a member of the Electronics WikiProject. Sadly, this project is pretty dead, but I propose to resuscitate it with a collaboration. The idea is to have a concerted effort on improving one article per month, hopefully to GA or FA status and nominate the very best of them for the front page. I have prepared a page to control this process at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Collaboration (actually, I mostly shamelessly stole it from Wikipedia:WikiProject Mammals where a collaboration of this sort was succesfully run). There you can make nominations for articles for collaboration or comment on the nominations of others.

If you want to take part you might like to place this template {{WikiProject Electronics Collaboration}} on your userpage which will give you a link to the current collaboration. If you are no longer interested in Wikiproject Electronics, please remove yourself from the members list, which is now at Wikipedia:WikiProject Electronics/Members

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Xcentaur! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 401 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag.
