Userbox Ideas
[edit]Dear BlueAmethyst, thank you for your edits to the article I just posted: Charles Armitage Brown. There are many references to him but no biog to read.

Why was my request for an Ayrton Senna userbox removed from the ideas page within a half hour of me putting it up?Raghuvansh r (talk) 22:44, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Protections
[edit]You're welcome, though I did decline one, as there hadn't been much vandalism for about a week. With making requests at requests for page protection, there is no limit to how many you can request at any one time. :) One user either yesterday or the day before requested over 10 pages at once. :) Acalamari 23:35, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I think that person requested over ten pages because a load of IPs were all vandalizing a group of articles. :) Acalamari 01:47, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Your Welcome
[edit]Not a problem and i appreciate your reply. Ill create an account when i see the need to input something to Wikipedia. For now i was just learning the style and language. Thanks --203.59.131.101 03:55, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: CSD notification
[edit]Hi BlueAmethyst! First of all, welcome to Wikipedia, and glad to see you on New Page patrol. We can always use editors who are dedicated to cleaning up the 'pedia! :) Anyway, there are some automated tools that you can use to make your editing much easier, especially with repetitive tasks. To both tag a page and warn the user on their talk page that I've nominated their article for deletion, I use a handy little program called Twinkle; with one click, the page is tagged and the creator is notified! It can do lots of other things too. Directions for installing the add-on are on the twinkle page, but basically it involves a very simple modification to your monobook, changing how wikipedia pages get displayed in your browser to add more tabs at the top of pages to choose from. Please let me know if I can be of any more help, or if you have any more questions about how this works. Hope to see you around here more! :) All the best, ~Eliz81(C) 22:08, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also, I see on your userpage that you've marked yourself as 'lost'. Can I be of any more assistance? Would you like me to adopt you? :) ~Eliz81(C) 22:11, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- LOL aren't we all a little lost in the real world? ;) Let me know if anything else comes up! ~Eliz81(C) 22:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
99.194.153.78
[edit]Yes, I saw that. I requested semi-protection for the IP talk page on WP:RFPP. And also, 99.194.153.78 has been blocked for 15 minutes for vandalism. NHRHS2010 talk 00:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Your edit of changing db-a7 -> db-bio
[edit]Hi there, kindly note that db-a7 and db-bio are the exact same template so this edit is not necessary, thanks. --202.40.139.171 05:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Many thanks!
[edit]Thanks so much for the barnstar! It looks great on the side of my barn already! To answer your question, I've always said it this way: some people really like their local sports team or know all kinds of details about their favorite band. Me, I'm obsessed with some writer that died over 150 years ago. :) --Midnightdreary 13:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Re:retractable pen
[edit]well, i just came across that entry during my vandalim patrol, i havent really worked on the article as such. if youd like to make an article and then link it from that page, thats cool. if you want to check whether any such article exists already, search the terms 'retrable pen' in the search box in the left pane. if you would rather use google for said search, type 'retractable pen site:en.wikipedia.org' in the search box. of course, zero entries means theres nothing about it on WP, so if you're interested, you've got a brand new project to work on!

Userbox images
[edit]Hi, I noticed that a few userboxes you created at Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/Ideas contained fair use images. Please don't add fair use images to userboxes, because we are not allowed (legally!) to use such images outside of the article namespace. I have removed the instances of images where inserted - please use only free-use images in userboxes in the future, please. Thanks, Nihiltres{t.l} 17:26, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, just remember it for the future. ;) Nihiltres{t.l} 00:38, 25 November 2007 (UTC) (cross-posted)

[edit]Good news: It was within time. Bad news: In the wrong place.
Never mind, you can vote for me next time. :-) Giano (talk) 00:05, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it will count if the voter makes his/her intention clear (but will it matter?). deeceevoice (talk) 06:27, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
No need to apologize to me! ;) I'm just another voter. Like the guy said, there's always next time. (I don't even know how many vacancies there are on the Arb Comm to fill, so I don't have a clue who made it and who didn't.) At any rate, it's good you weighed in at all. Frankly, I've never paid much attention to ArbCom elections before, but when I saw Moreschi was up for it, I had to vote (hell, no!). Peace. :) deeceevoice (talk) 01:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Your warnings to 74.173.38.135
[edit]It's admirable that you assisted in fighting this linkspamming vandal, but please note that you should only use one warning template at a time. The guidelines regarding vandalism allow for choosing a more severe warning on the first offense it the vandal's actions seem deliberate ("if you are confident that a user is aware of the disruption he is causing, you may start with a stronger warning such as...." per WP:VAN). Inserting multiple templates may be misleading to others because, at a glance, it will look as if the user has recieved multiple warnings for multiple isolated offenses TheBilly (talk) 23:51, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again
[edit]I do thank you for the kind words. I am trying hard to be sure my work is objective. At the present time I am writing a Biography of Captain Daniel Roberts (a "bit" player in the lives of Shelley, Byron and Trelawny). I found a short biog, on his father, Captain Henry Roberts, which I improved. The only thing that makes me sad it the vandalism that takes place on Byron, Shelley, and other sites. I do wish there was some way to punish these individuals.Sirswindon (talk) 17:59, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
