RfA thanks

Thank you for the trust you placed in me by supporting my RfA (which passed and, apparently, I am now an admin!). I will do my best to continue to act in a way that is consistent with the policies of wikipedia as well with our common desire to build and perfect this repository of human knowledge; and can only hope that you never feel that your trust was misplaced. Post

Hey, not sure if it happened to anyone else so I figured I'd let you know, you missed me. Thanks, §hepTalk 02:22, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I got some complaints. I don't know why, I'll have to take a look at it next time I deliver it. Xclamation point 22:45, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

sandbox

bot seems to be wiping the sandbox every 5 minutes, even though he is leaving a message saying that it is cleared every 12 hours. 5 minutes seems like way too short a period of time, i could see every 15 minutes, or ideally hourly. (really just trying to let you know that the bot may be malfunctioning) -TinGrin 07:54, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. Most likely, the bot has reverted your edit because you removed the header from the sandbox page. The header is there to provide help to other people. Because the bot is trying to keep the sandbox clean for others to try out, it reverts edits that remove it. Xclamation point 22:46, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

you reverted a valuable edit

man, you (or your bot) reverted my edit on the bone wars page for no apparent reason. i made the article better. please rectify this. LazyMapleSunday (talk) 00:17, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

yo man i ended up just redoing the edits, i don't know why your bot made that edit but i think you should tweak it so it doesn't revert good stuff. it was frustrating to spend time thinking this stuff up and then your bot swoops in and reverts the whole thing. anyway...later LazyMapleSunday (talk) 00:30, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

The bot was activated because you pressed one of the buttons at the top of the edit box, which is indicative of a test edit. Xclamation point 22:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
do you mean the bold, italic etc. buttons? i'm new to editing pages so i still use those. should i not? i'd rather not have any more bots reverting me so any tips would be appreciated. LazyMapleSunday (talk) 18:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Soxbot reverting my vandalism reverts

Please take a look on page Iris_(anatomy). I reverted some vandalism and the bot went against that... JDrewes (talk) 13:40, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

The addition of <!-- Comment --> tripped the bot. Reverting is it perfectly fine to do. Xclamation point 22:39, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

My Sandbox

Dear X!,

I have a Sandbox of my own entitled "User:Rowdy the Ant/My Sandbox". Can you control your bot so can be clean? Rowdy the Ant (talk) 16:10, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

No, my bot's specialized and localized to only clean out the official sandboxes. Sorry. Xclamation point 23:37, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Template Sandboxes

Hi, when your bot clears template sandboxes (e.g. {{X5}}), could it place the </noinclude> tag just before the ---- line, please? Otherwise the template sandbox can't be used without including lots of blurb. Thanks, Martin (Smith609 – Talk) 18:07, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I rather would not have it do that, as those tags are the tags that have been approved and accepter by the community. Xclamation point 23:38, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I thought it did that. I'll take a look. Xclamation point 23:38, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

SoxBot

Hey there. I just wanted to notify you that I received this message about a failed rollback request from your bot. However, the bot did not notice that it was actually a request for the accountcreator right, not rollback. Some how, can you get the bot to recognize the differences? Thanks. ѕwirlвoy  19:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

I'll see about adding it soon. Xclamation point 23:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry if you feel inconvenience. I'd like to tell you the fact. I visited your toolserver-main-page and viewed source. <a> tag doesn't work if "href" attribution is not set. So I recommend the following syntax: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:X!/Sox_Commons">here<!-- this text would be visible--></a>.

And I checked your page via W3C validator, marked as invalid. I recommend you to fix your page so when I visit next time, I can view more pretty page!--Kwj2772 (talk) 01:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Floating Head coding

Hello. I was just wondering what the coding was for that floating head on your userpage and also, if you need to add it to say like the MediaWiki:Common.js, MediaWiki:Common.css, or any other page to enable it too work? I am wondering this because I am experimenting with codings and other stuff on different Wikias. (Not sure if the different version of MediaWiki or the parser difference would make a difference when transferring the coding over to any Wikia wiki.) Thanks, --Spencer (talk) 01:19, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Party Down Scandal (LG Williams)

I strongly object to your deletion -- not only per the historic discussion but for the new: the article clearly is notable with citations. In addition, any absurd claim of advertising is a clear case of unsubstantive projection. Please advise who i share my grievance. Additonally, it was clear that NO CONCENSUS was established; there was an unsubstative rush to action; and all objections were clearly nullified.--Art4em (talk) 18:30, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

There was clear consensus to delete. You were the only one to express a desire to keep the article. Please note that deleting the article is not "harassment", "a joke", or "a sham". In addition, yelling in all capitals is not exactly what I (or anyone else who would close the requst for deletion) would like to see. Yelling accusions at the process will not help it. The article will stay deleted. If you would like to contest, please take it to WP:DR. Xclamation point 18:39, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Counter and percentages

Hi there X! I noticed that your counter bases the distribution of content across namespaces on the full edit, not the visible count. But that leads to counts like this where the counter creates "Namespace totals" which add up to 74% and not 100%. I'd like to suggest that you change the counter to determine those values only from those edits that are visible and not all edits so it adds up to 100% ;-) Regards SoWhy 19:55, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

It could have gone either way. Keep and No Consensus have the same physical result, the difference is really marginal in this case. Xclamation point 18:47, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Why would you assume any objectivity in Wikipedia standards for deleting or keeping articles? I notice that this was closed with no consensus, I have seen things relisted in the past in an attempt to gain consensus - does this happen as a matter of course or does it require human input? pablohablo. 12:09, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Usually, relisting is done in an attempt to gain more opinion. Because that had quite a lot of people put their opinion in, I closed it as NC because if it was relisted, it would likely have resulted in the same outcome. Xclamation point 19:01, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
