Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to All My Life (Foo Fighters song), did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Low (Foo Fighters song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page One by One (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Foo Fighters DOA CD1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Foo Fighters DOA CD1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Science no Yurei.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:33, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Susumu Hirasawa 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Susumu Hirasawa 2.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 02:26, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages

[edit]

Thank you for your recent efforts to improve disambiguation pages. Please note, though, that dab pages are navigation pages for material available in Wikipedia articles. This means that each entry must either have its own article or be mentioned in another article. So, for example, I removed this addition to Nightmare (disambiguation) because there is no article for the song and it not mentioned in the article linked in the description, Susumu Hirasawa, or in the article for the OVA. In other words, a disambiguation page is not a place to insert information that is not supported by an actual article. Add the information to an article first, then list it on the dab page. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm watching here, so you can reply here. Regards,--ShelfSkewed Talk 05:09, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Susumu Hirasawa, January 2013.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Susumu Hirasawa, January 2013.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 142.105.172.7 (talk) 02:42, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tadahiko Yokogawa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Wieno (talk) 03:31, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Elaboration on the Hirasawa edits

[edit]

Hi Wunkt. I'm just as grateful for all the work you've done in bringing information to Wikipedia and the Hirasawa Wiki (especially the lyrics!), I've referenced it many times.

About the articles, I felt I needed to do the work that I did, but no more, for a few reasons:

  • It feels like there isn't enough information for the later albums readily available from what I've found. It would feel unnecessary to create a separate section for album information, for instance, if there are only two or three sentences to write about it. All of it could be fit into the introduction to avoid clutter. Same goes for the track information sections (bullet points as opposed to bolded names... also helps if two songs are part of the same information point, to avoid mentioning the same thing twice).
  • If it is not referenced somewhere, I am reluctant to write it. I don't want to give away misinformation. Everything left in as seen in the final edits from me comes from either Hirasawa Lyrics or Hirasawa's websites.
  • If I look at the articles for the first four albums, they contain lots of information for me, a big fan of Hirasawa, but not for anybody else. Taking AURORA, someone looking at the page for the first time seeking basic information is thrust right into very specific details after being told that it's the fourth Hirasawa album. I do feel like there needs to be an introduction that is accessible to everyone at the very least (the third paragraph in particular seems like something that could be used).
  • I'm obsessive about trimming redundancy and getting writing down perfectly. Again, going to the first four albums, the wording in places is awkward, things are repeated, and capitalization for different works is inconsistent (is this not a result of having giant articles to manage on one's own)? Also, the details themselves. Who is to say what content belongs and what doesn't? I settled on relaying what I deemed to be the most important and interesting information in a concise manner, taking into account everything I covered in the other points. Truthfully, I actually omitted some information if I didn't know how to work it into the article for it to flow with the other parts. But if it was truly worth mentioning in my eyes, I would have figured out a way.
  • All of this being said, the deletions came about as a result of constant researching on Wikipedia's policies, and shifting back and forth on deciding on what I wanted the articles to represent.

I've done what I feel is best. Other editors can take over if they feel the need to, now that there is at least a base for the albums. I would just ask that what I covered above would be taken into consideration before anything is changed.

Ah yes, I do have an account. I've sent you a message.

Myonmiya (talk) 08:40, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I read over the new edits. Here are some notes and other things.

  • On the topic of accessibility, if a user were to read an article and come across terms like Tubular Hertz, SP-2, ASOK, and the like, they would most likely not understand what those things are, as they are not explained and do not have their own page on Wikipedia.
  • The line about Hirasawa in futuristic goggles... it seems very random and out of place within the paragraph. If you wrote this, I would think that you would continue writing out what Hirasawa did for the entire show in detail.
  • Is there a point to writing about which songs were featured on Archetype, when the Archetype page itself already has the information on which albums the songs come from? The article is elongated with repeating information that does not concern Sim City directly. How many readers would be interested in knowing which specific songs appeared on a compilation album, not overseen by Hirasawa to boot? The infobox could include a section for Remix albums and Compilation albums, so if someone were interested in those things, they could go there. Also, for linking to Archetype, shouldn't the entire name be a hyperlink? Otherwise, it looks like the subtitle is part of something else, confusing.
  • Will the Recorded fields be consistent later on? It feels off if one has only names of studios, and another only has names of cities.
  • About all caps, I was wondering whether or not you also scan for song names in the same manner. Because most of the Japanese names translated to English have proper capitalization, but looking at Electric Light Bathing for instance, this is not the case.
  • As for information coveting, I do not find that Wikipedia favors more than less necessarily. Information is derived from references, but kept concise and relevant to the immediate topic. It's not like taking everything that is known and dumping it into an article. From Handling trivia:

Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, so some degree of selectivity should always be used, but the criteria for inclusion are complex, because the "importance" of a fact is subjective. It is not reasonable to disallow all information that some editors feel is unimportant, because that information could be important to some readers. That said, an ideal Wikipedia article would present its subject in a straightforward but well-organized way, and refer the reader to other articles or outside resources where more details can be found. The overinclusion of an exhaustive list of unnecessary details detracts from this goal. Trivia sections should not simply be wiped away, however, because some items may be useful for integration.

Do you agree with this? How much miscellaneous information is enough? Each album in existence has its own stories behind them that could write books, yet a line is drawn somewhere, at differing points. By the way, if you are styling the articles after other album pages, aren't you forgetting a critical reception section? I would say those are beyond pointless, but they seem to be pretty important to some people! I wonder...
  • As a totally personal point of view, the mystique of Hirasawa-sensei fades as more information is openly available. Reality fills in imagination blocks. ~_^

Ah, that is all quite fascinating, thanks for the info! To think of all the stuff that goes unreleased... Myonmiya (talk) 16:18, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I go easy on edits since you put so much work into creating these articles so I feel like I shouldn't be touching them much. It's understandable, right? But I am able to get over this complex if need be. The articles have come a long way. I don't have many ideas to offer right now to be honest. Lack of inspiration? But I can reword awkward-sounding parts here and there since I believe myself to have a good command of structure and what sounds right in this language. If something else comes to me I'll let you know for sure. But um, yeah, thanks again for putting all this together. English fans would surely be left in the dark otherwise. Myonmiya (talk) 08:26, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, one thing that comes to mind now is a continuation of what we discussed all those months ago. I would really want to make the articles seem more like the other articles on Wikipedia. At the same time, there is a lot of information that would be lost otherwise. It's a difficult situation. My rule would be to cut out things that are not significant; that word in this instance meaning information that just seems to be information for the sake of having information. For example, the bit on the Planet Roll Call page about PHONON2553. You notice too that this particular sentence would not serve a common reader, neither a Hirasawa fan because it would be assumed automatically that songs performed at a concert that took place not too long after the album's release would most definitely include a lot of the songs from that particular album. Things like that. I wish to be of more practical help but I can't force myself to work on something if I'm not feeling up to it. Myonmiya (talk) 08:55, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Susumu Hirasawa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Edogawa. Name of Susumu Hirasawa's father

[edit]

Greetings to high-minded hone Wunkt2. I just noticed that this imgur page on Hirasawa's tweets on August 5th 2015 is referred to. I noticed that in Wikipedia it mentioned his father as "Hōseki (平沢 峰石)," which reads a bit weird to me, because Hōseki is not the real name of the person. His father is named "平沢 清" which probably is romanized as Hirasawa Kiyoshi. The source is his earlier tweets, such as these on Jan 31st 2015:

https://twitter.com/search?q=%E5%B9%B3%E6%B2%A2%E6%B8%85%E3%80%80from%3Ahirasawa&src=typd

Sorry that I'm not good at tweet collecting tools.

Hōseki is like a pen-name, because it is in Onyomi in traditional artist name style. When someone does some traditional arts he/she might have an artist name. I'm not sure if his father just nicknamed himself as Hōseki, but I guess so.

Non-free rationale for File:Phonon 2555 Vision.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Phonon 2555 Vision.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hirasawa articles

[edit]

Hi Wunkt. I think I took on too much with this project. Editing Wikipedia to Wikipedia's standards takes some level of experience. That is besides mastery of the language in which the article is in. What makes it even more challenging is if there is emotional investment, which more often than not clouds objective judgement. If the articles are the first thing people look to when they search for the information online and they don't look their best then I feel like I'm carrying the burden. What I mean is that the people who would be able to make the Hirasawa pages become seamless with the rest of the site are the ones who have been editors for a while and who don't have as much of an attachment to the man, even if they don't know nearly as much about his music.

The trilogy comments don't seem to belong at all. I'm not sure if it has even been made official through Twitter or something, but it doesn't look like this is ever emphasized in other official sources. For the first three albums, there was a line in each of the pages saying essentially the exact same thing and that's what I wanted to correct. I don't think it looks good as a whole to repeat the exact same thing across multiple articles. It also confused me because there was only a deliberation on what the third album was about and so I didn't get what the sentence was trying to say since I assumed that all three would get some kind of descriptor about their themes but after re-reading a few times I understood. What is written should be clearly understood by everyone so I don't think it's worth including it if it doesn't flow well.

The Paprika bit is bordering on trivia. A lot of people in the west discovered Hirasawa through the soundtrack work that he did on different anime so it makes sense for that basic connection to be pointed out. I really don't think anything else is necessary for that article though. And I'm aware that Polysics are somewhat popular but I don't know how important information on covers is.

Personal bias and other things. I tried to gauge what kind of information would be the most important, really. I think that the return of a P-MODEL member 30 years later is something that should be there. But a blurb about how a small part of a song is a sample of another older song is too minor. I know, once again, that if you look at pages of popular bands a lot of stuff is permitted, but that's all up to the culture. That is what determines notability and in turn what should and shouldn't be on Wikipedia. Everyone is following the rules to create consistency. Another thing is that those articles are well-written and easy to understand even for a newcomer. The Hirasawa ones in comparison don't have that quality to them, probably because there are only two of us instead of twenty of us. But yeah, I don't have the skillset to fix it. I just have a clear idea of what it should look like more or less despite not being able to make it so myself.

Kayo Dot seems well-known enough and Hirasawa's influence is pronounced so it could probably be worked in somehow. Don't ask me how though. And the article, what did you see in it?

Myonmiya (talk) 06:06, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I made some edits on a bunch of pages. All of them I feel like I had a good reason for. The answer to pretty much any decision was that it was not relevant enough (especially not for the opening line/paragraph) or didn't sound right. For the former let's take Technique of Relief. By this time, the strong Thai influence was fading away going by the music. The only thing that's left is the place it was recorded in, which is really not intro paragraph material. There could be a new section in the body, but if it's going to be one line then there's no real point, and searching for even less relevant facts just to justify putting that in isn't the way to go either. So, every edit is kind of like this. I know we're destined to disagree 4 life but that's fine with me. From my point of view by cutting out the inessential I'm making the articles waste less of the user's time (90% aren't hardcore Hirasawa fans), which is what I assume Wikipedia's guidelines are there for in the first place.

This situation would be much clearer with more than two opinions though.

Myonmiya (talk) 01:28, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good.

Yeah, a big problem is just how weird a lot of the things sound. I notice that with some articles the sentences are way too long. Or that mistakenly there are two different ideas in one sentence and a comma is used as a period. What I mean is that ideas are meant to be connected to each other in a sentence. If you write about something that is different from what is introduced in a sentence after a comma, my friend was mean to me. (Reader will be confused. A list of things is different because it connects to something, but it has to made clear that it's a list beforehand. I don't know if that makes sense, I'm not the best at explaining.)

Anyway, I'm going to do a few more pages. I just want to clean up if anything.

Myonmiya (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:47, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yo, I've cleaned up the main page a bit, or at least the start of it. You can also see that there are now links to explain what an ILS is on every page. However, I still believe that the articles could do without them barring Hirasawa's page where it tells the reader about their existence. It's jarring to have a section a whole section called "Interactive Live Show" in the table of contents and have to need an explanation before you know what it is. Again, through the eyes of someone who knows nothing.

If you're concerned with losing the information you've invested a lot of time into acquiring, I think you should put it on the Wikia site. Also did the P-Model page ever have extended information on it? I'm guessing you split it up for each album. It sort of doesn't work because if someone wants to know about a P-Model album they won't be interested in the band's history and line-up changes. It should jump right to information about the album imo.

Myonmiya (talk) 11:55, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm done editing for now. The articles aren't perfect by any means, but it's closer to what I had in mind than what they looked like before. I was actually browsing other pages with strong fandoms recently and noticed that some of them had a similar history, where at first there was a large information dump and over time it was cut down to the basics. But eh, if whatever I have done needs to be reverted then I don't have much of a problem with it. It's just something I did to show a possible alternative to what was in place.

Yeah, the Scuba article... I don't know the exact details but it's clearly an important album. I mean, compare it to the significance of ICE-9... I'm not really sure why I thought that article was necessary for Wikipedia. Anyway, I just thought that it would eventually be filled with information by someone else. I'm not really sure how the deletion process works on here, maybe it's the right thing to do for some of these pages.

Oh and for the Kayo Dot thing, I think it would be best if the bit about Hirasawa was included on the album's page instead of Hirasawa's (when/if someone makes it).

Notice

The file File:BERSERK - Hawk of the Millennium Empire Arc - Chapter of the Lost Flowers - Original Game Soundtrack.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, so there's no real justification for its non-free use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:03, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Hi there: a few months ago you made an edit to Sarazanmai listing Takumi Arao as a co-creator of the series, citing two tweets from Ikuhara as a source. Do you have any reliable secondary sources confirming Arao as a co-creator of the series? The majority of sources that I can find cite Ikuhara as the series' sole creator, and at least in English-language sources, I can't seem to find any reference to Arao. Given Ikuhara's tendency towards jokes and bloviation in his personal communication, I don't know if his Twitter alone is a reliable source. Morgan695 (talk) 04:20, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hirasawa Siren sources

[edit]

Hi Wunkt2, I am currently writing a paper on Susumu Hirasawa's Mermaid Song for an electronic music class. Your article was the most complete source I could find on the album, and I wanted to ask if you still had access to the sources used in it, as I could not find the Rockin' On Japan article, and the P-MODEL book was unobtainable for my institution. If possible I'd like to discuss these sources, as this is proving to be a difficult topic to research. Vallytine (talk) 23:48, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
